Pugg Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 My take on the relegation battle is: Stoke and West Brom to go down. Two of the promoted teams struggling. Any other from: Boro. They have been very poor. Hull and Pompey. I have a feeling they will start to drop. Us. Fingers crossed things are looking up. Long may it continue. West Ham. Depends who they have to sell in Jan. Bolton, Wigan and Fulham are doing ok, but even Fulham in 8th are only 5 points from the relegation zone. Sunderland are doing ok too at the moment, see them similar to us. I think Man City, Newcastle and Spurs will all end up comfortably out of the mix. Man City with money, Spurs with Harry and Newcastle are doing ok under Kinnear. So going off that, we have a good chance of staying up if we continue improving and strengthen in January.

We should be ok,there are plenty of teams queueing up to go down this year,i think Portsmouth will finish in the bottom 4.Especially if they stick with loopy Adams.
The Rover of Finland Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Adams was backing Ince very hard but his time will end soon too. Hard to see Pompey giving Diarra money Adams´s hands. Must say I prefer our Andrews-Tugay/Mokoena than theirs Davis-Hughes. We will finish better than Hull. Stoke and WBA will go down no doubt. And let´s hope WBA won´t come back soon. Boring club.
John Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 As we were saying at the time, no wonder messers Pulis, Adams and Brown were slating us for sacking Ince. We have just made their jobs a lot harder. On another note, Harry on possibly signing Defoe in January: "I think they have a massive offer from somebody for him so good luck to them, I paid about £9million for him," Redknapp said.

Real Madrid? City?
Ricky Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 My money would be on Villa going for Defoe. he seems the sort of player they go for, english and pacey. They also pay pretty good fees so would probably not be trying to get him on the cheap like 'arry. Just look how much they paid for Milner
Majiball Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Real Madrid? City? Villa? Mike Ashley has taken Newcastle off the market and now wants to drive it forward. I wonder what the fans will do if anything?
Pugg Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 english and pacey. I love watching Villa play and I like the fact that they are assembling a very English team.
modes98 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Sad day that I admit to preferring to watch Villa to any other team but I was cheering them on against Arsenal.
The Prof. Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I love watching Villa play and I like the fact that they are assembling a very English team. Which is why I has them down as an outside bet for RSC - O'Neil like big target men ad has 2 lively smallish front men.
The Prof. Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 And they're managed by god. Or St Martin.
Amo Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Villa after Defoe, Liverpool after Glen Johnson, and Sylvain Distin wants out. Surely Pompey should be worth a punt as relegation favs.
The Prof. Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Villa after Defoe, Liverpool after Glen Johnson, and Sylvain Distin wants out. Surely Pompey should be worth a punt as relegation favs. And Gomez managing them - it's a surefire winner.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Which is why I has them down as an outside bet for RSC - O'Neil like big target men ad has 2 lively smallish front men. I suspect the money is a touch rich for them. Even with the rich Americian.

Derbyshire Blue Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Barcodes 5-1 defeat and our next home game after today... how big Sam's going to love that confrontation !
alexanders Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I predict 4-0 to Arsenal against Pompey.
brfcshabba Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 West Ham 0-1 Stoke Basically what RibbleValleyRover said Fulham 1-0 Chelsea Everton 1-0 Sunderland
alexanders Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Fulham 1 - 0 Chelsea PL is very strange and exciting this year.
