joey_big_nose Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I would say we would have a very decent chance of getting Bilic. He is not going to be offered a club bigger than us becuase he has no club level experience. And with our history with Hughes he would know that we understand how to deal with a young guy taking on his first club role. John Collims is a good shout - he plays decent football for a start and is not afraid of bringing through youngsters. But on the other hand he has a temper, an ego and the ability to rub people up the wrong way in a big fashion.

grizfoot Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 SSN confirm what somebody else said somewhere else, BFS is on his way to the North West after cancelling his holiday. He may have just forgot to pack his toothbrush.
tony gale's mic Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Come on nicko, tell us what you know about these Fat Sam rumours?
Bobby G Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Allardyce to NW to talk to us?!? Isnt it too early to hold talks? Or maybe Sinatra wants to steal him?
nicko Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Why won't Shearer take it? Surely a perfect first job. Coppell, I remeber you saying it during the Sparky to Newcastle time. I hate people with good memories...
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11679_3642635,00.html Sky Sports News understands members of the Chelsea hierarchy want Mark Hughes as the club's next manager. The Blackburn Rovers boss is now at the centre of a managerial tug-of-war after Manchester City also made an approach for Hughes. The former Manchester United striker was given permission by Blackburn on Monday to speak to City regarding the possibility of replacing Sven Goran Eriksson at Eastlands. But Sky Sports News understands that Hughes is one of two names in the frame to replace Avram Grant in the Stamford Bridge hot seat. Senior Chelsea figures met outside the country on Monday to discuss the appointment of a new boss, with Hughes and a foreign candidate in contention to succeed Grant. And if it is Fat Sam who is our next manager i will be totally torn and not sure i could honestly back him.

Hannah Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Manchester City is in the North West - here is hoping he is on his way there!!! Allerdyce can not be our next manager - i have never felt this strongly about anything Rovers related before.
S15 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 And if it is Fat Sam who is our next manager i will be totally torn and not sure i could honestly back him. Why, has he killed a member of your family or something or is he just coming to do the best job he can as manager of the football club you support? Get a grip.
BlueMonday Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 If everything thats been said is true its a sad end If the City talks were a leveraging ploy to force a Chelsea move it a slap in the face for everyone at the club. I'm sure if he'd sat down and said If the Chelsea job comes up I want to go for it, it would have been respected. We may be left in a situation of having a manager who's lost all respect at the club, but has no where to go. Gutted.
AlanK Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Well, it looks like a case of the king has gone, long live the king. I would be more concerned if JW was going.
Hi Mack Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Coppell, fat sam, mclaren, jewell you see a pattern emerging? All failed and all failed very recently!
brfcshabba Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Coppell, fat sam, mclaren, jewell you see a pattern emerging? All failed and all failed very recently! You say fat sam but he is the only one out of the list that didn't get a team relegated or failed to get a team qualified

Get a grip. Why? Because i loathe the guy, don't rate him, don't like his tactics, don't like his attitude, don't rate his buying policy, look at all the @#/? he bought for newcastle, that £6 million pound defender thats never played for them is one example. I don't want him anywhere near the club.
gbax Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Manchester City is in the North West - here is hoping he is on his way there!!! Allerdyce can not be our next manager - i have never felt this strongly about anything Rovers related before. Calm down, anyone would think that Heather Mill's name was in the frame! People didn't like the Romans, but look what they did for us? (for any one who follows the pythons!) :-)
S15 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Don't rate his buying policy? Wow. You might not wanna open your eyes for a while. But that's okay, they must have been shut long enough now.
Whyoy Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 It's been mentioned a number of pages ago but What about Alan Irvine ?? Premiership and European experience with Everton Did a fine job keeping Preston up last year Would definitely fancy Rovers spending budget compared to Preston's Is an ex-Rover
nicko Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 This has got to be the strangest day outside a last day of the transfer window I have ever known. Big Sam IS the alternative to Sparky at Man City. He will have told his pals on Sky he is coming home just to put himself in the frame and think City will welcome him with open arms. I do NOT see John Williams allowing him in the building. Along with his backroom staff of millions and his agents. No thanks. This is yet another piece of frenzy...it seems you get your name out there on Sky and hope someone falls for it. For what it's worth, I think the Chelsea Hughes fan club may be making inroads with Roman...
Hi Mack Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Fat sam was hardly a raving success at newcastle was he? so he............failed
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Don't rate his buying policy? Wow. You might not wanna open your eyes for a while. But that's okay, they must have been shut long enough now. Your an idiot, Look at the money he wasted at Newcastle, name a good buy he made there.
nicko Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 What about Alan Irvine ?? An absolutely smashing guy, but just a bit inexperienced. You could do worse...but you need to do better.
S15 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Your an idiot, Look at the money he wasted at Newcastle, name a good buy he made there. He was there less than 6 months. Did you miss his Bolton reign?
