Going to us (Newcastle) though :P

Since our new owners came in, we've been good at keeping genuine news away from the British press, for instance the first anyone heard of one of our transfers was confirmation of the players departure on Villareal's Official Site. As such, we've found foreign sources more reliable, and the latest from Turkey and Russia is that we're the onlyplayers to make bids for Turan and Arshavin, and that our Arshavin bid has been accepted with Dennis Wise talking to him in Austria.

Two more players ruining their careers....... ;)

MK Dons owner still saying they have had no approach for Ince. That must mean he's not being interviewed then. :tu:

Or am I being naieve in this modern world of pro football?

Seriously, can't see how he's being interviewed with no approach being made to his club.

If we have in fact already interviewed him we were being very naughty by the sounds of it.

That aside I would imagine 90% of it could be done via agents and management teams these days without a face to face meeting and technically breaching regulations being necessary.

It seems evident Hughes had been thoroughly sounded out by Citeh both recently and before Sven was appointed.

It was probably a done deal by the time Citeh asked us for formal permission.

People also need to remember that as soon as we said Hughes was going to be interviewed for the City job many on here, myself included, said there was no way he could come back. Rovers, Ince and MK Dons may have simply all agreed that any interview should be kept quiet so that if Ince doesn't get the job he won't have egg on his face and he can happily go back to his job.

Given the uproar that was caused by the thought of BFS being appointed, I'm surprised that people haven't blockaded off the entrances and exits around Blackburn at the thought of the wally with the brolly being appointed.

I'm sure that when they were both in the running for the England post, the majority preferred pre Newcastle Sam and no-one wanted McWally.

Well I am just of of for bike ride so if he,s between Wiswell and Downham I'll spot him. Suspect meeting will be at the Calf head Worston better check that out at lunch time. <_<

Worston? Shouldn't that be better spelt Worstun? Cos he bloody well is!

If I was the board I'd use Maclaren as just a smoke screen to make us all grateful when we get Allardyce.

I think we are still in a profound state of shock.

Once that well-practiced slappable smug expression starts to appear on TV and that smarmy folksy ingratiating voice flows over the local airwaves, I'm sure we will witness a Frankenstein movie style denoument, with whole town descending on Ewood Park, staves and pitch forks at the ready!

I agree eddie. I've lost interest in the whole saga now. I've become resigned to the fact that i'll spend my weekends doing other things than watching rovers. It's not that I want McClaren; I just can't be bothered to oppose it because it looks like the board, the media, the fans or whoever thinks we deserve either Allardyce or McClaren and so i'll wait quietly for it to happen and then decide whether I actually want to attend matches next season. In the case of allardyce no; in the case of McClaren most probably not.

Wally's downfall for England was that he tried to do the impossible. That is to play Stevie G and Lampard in the same midfield. Since we can't afford both of them, he should be OK at Rovers

Quite...

The manager who couldn't get Lampard and Gerrard to work in central midfield should have no problem addressing the weakest area of our side and turning a Vogel/Reid pairing into the best in the league.

Fred owns Stanley House.. Maybe they get 10% off their Pie chips and peas?

The list is worrysome.. Ince (idiot), Ten Cate (great coach little pedigree as a manager.. we've had a few as manager already (harford, kidd, hogson); Mclaren (meh) and BFS.. probably the strongest of the lot!!

hmm

I agree - maybe we should wait for better quality of managers to become available (after Euro 2008?).

If McClown was in the top 4 of the 40 applicants I dread to think who was in the bottom 4!

i dont know what it is but, i would not trust BFS of McClaren with my shopping budget(dont know what junk they would come back with) let alone in charge of rovers :!:

im sure anyone that JW wants to interview would have been contacted by now, with all first round of interviews arranged, wtih secound and third round next week???

Specifically he was too thick to notice it wasn't working and kept persisting with trying to play them together.

He's a doughnut and can find somewhere else to work (McD's are always after staff).

Just been to the places that matter...the Northcote [no-one there], the academy [no-one there], the Dunky [including the pool - no-one there], Ewood [both ends], the Horden Car Park [shut].

No sightings.

But Whalley looks a lovely little spot.

All I can tell you is that:

McClaren IS meeting them.

There were six on the short-list but that is now five post-Shearer and will be four post-Ten Cate if he cannot make himself available by Wednesday.

Meanwhile Ince is going to a coaching course in Wales for the first time on Wednesday to WATCH...which makes his 'qualifications' look a bit moody.

Troubling times.
