brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 In all fairness Bilic may not have been available for another few weeks had Croatia not been knocked out. I also believe that this news, if true, shows great timing by the board because I get the feeling that Bilic may have lost heart in the Croatian job from his body language in the interviews he did last night after the game and in the way they went out

dj54nna Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Its Bilic, just said on sky. Is that just because somebody mentioned his name on here? Never forget, Stroke Boy may be watching...

John Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Just to clarify, Tyler mentioned it in an interview live on Sky.
robborover Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I hope it Bilic too. He could be the new Mourinho with regards to quotes. Check this one out: "With the greatest respect to women, football is the most beautiful thing in the world".
Blue n White Rover Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Has Ten Cates name been mentioned anywhere ??
frosty Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Has Bilic left Croatia then? Haven't seen confirmation anywhere.
Bobby G Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko whats going on? Did we really push through the Ince deal officially to the PL as a done deal? Or were we just tying up loose ends in case we chose him? And are we really talking to Bilic right now? And is Laudrup officially out of the race? Also, do you know what Ince is feeling right now?

Jesus! Feel sorry for Nicko answering all them.
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko whats going on? NOT 100 PER CENT SURE Did we really push through the Ince deal officially to the PL as a done deal? NO, AS A HYPOTHETICAL Or were we just tying up loose ends in case we chose him? POSSIBLE BUT THAT WAS NOT THE PLAN WHEN THEY MADE THE ORIGINAL REQUEST. And are we really talking to Bilic right now? NOT THAT I AM AWARE OF. And is Laudrup officially out of the race? NOT ENTIRELY, BUT THEY HAVE NOT GONE BACK TO HIM Also, do you know what Ince is feeling right now? I DID SAY HE TOLD A PAL OF MINE THAT IT WAS '48 HOURS' YESTERDAY...SO IT IS STILL ON SCHEDULE, BUT WHY THE PIGGING DELAY?
Dunnfc Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Bobby G and others Nicko said he will reveal more at 9pm so just sit tight until then.
Sandiway Blue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Jesus! Feel sorry for Nicko answering all them. Just thinking that myself! C`mon guys let him breathe!
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Bobby G and others Nicko said he will reveal more at 9pm so just sit tight until then. How apt !
cn_barlow Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Does anyone else get the impression JW has deliberately dragged it out to see who became available at the Euros? Maybe using the Ince stuff as a delaying tactic? I hope its Bilic!
philipl Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 If as seems to be reported Bilic is in the running now, there can be absolutely no complaints about the quality of candidates Rovers have been able to select from.
ebenrocks Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 If as seems to be reported Bilic is in the running now, there can be absolutely no complaints about the quality of candidates Rovers have been able to select from. nope, just complaints about the ones the board seem to be choosing
Sandiway Blue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko did say last week that Rovers fans were in a unique position with regards to the board listening to supporters views and more importantly acting on them. It makes you wonder whether they are taking that on board and have turned more towards what would be deemed the more popular candidates such as Laudrup or Ten Cate.
daveoftherovers Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Hi all, just heard something that might dampen the proceedings check the link below: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...1/sfnbla121.xml apparantly M.Laudrup wants x amounts of clauses in his contract and was worried about how competitive we could be in the trsfr market so it seems as though Ince will get it as he has been given the special dispensation where has all this talk of Slaven Bilic/Didier Deschamps links come from have not heard anything on sky as yet does anyone have any linksI also hear Uefa have delayed in approving the UEFA Pro licence even though the prem. lge have approved it laters all. Apparently, this a complete load of danglers, this is on his wiki site and was common knowledge when he was looking for a particular spanish job. Rovers had 1000's of applicants, including 1 guy who did not want to get paid, all he wanted was a sheep skin jacket and cigars ! In JW we trust, exciting stuff though eh?
thenodrog Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Good grief, Gordon! After all you said to gumboots! Got to say I feel your criticism of Ince is completely irrational and without real foundation. I must ahve something in common with gumboots after all . Dont worry she's quite rightly already been on to remind me. Thing is her hatred of Sam was irrational whilst mine is far more rational. I have a long memory of his career antics. As a player he was the biggest and most obnoxious smacked arse in the Prem. A hateful character who gave plenty of punishment out but couldnt take it when it came the other way. Childish and petulant describes him to a tee and those are not characteristics that I associate with a successful man manager. Its not all that long ago so I shouldn't need to remind people. Compare his on field demeanour with that of his team mates Hughes, Giggs and Scholes..... Proper footballers and proper men as an ex manager once said.
alexanders Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 nope, just complaints about the ones the board seem to be choosing and that's just stupid. The board are the only ones who are actually in contact and discussion with the candidates. Its only them who know how every candidate appear and what is being said.
daveoftherovers Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 nope, just complaints about the ones the board seem to be choosing p.s. Eben, how can you say that at this stage, they are just going through a diligent process, like any top job, if you meet standard criteria then you get an interview, it doesn't mean you get a job, that is why this thorough & professional process has forced Shearer to "Out" himself (Again) and then BFS & McBrolly have followed suit, if the rumours are true and we are left with 2/3 with the likes of Ince, Laudrup and / or Bilic then what more do you want???!!! Jesus! Trust the chairman, he's just doing his job, and in my view he's doing it very sensibly and very respectfully, other clubs should take note!
bringdunnback Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko any chance of the update at half time, incidentally you have backed the Russians so far, at first I disagreed but after watching Sweden and being told they have the youngest squad in the Euros they could be a real force in the future. Who are you backing tonight as I think Holland may have too much for them.
Dunnfc Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 and a new set of undies for yourself I believe that it was Tyler who mentioned his name...although I am aware that they have t'internet in Austria... I prefer briefs

If only!
