AussieinUk Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 The young French kid Baysse...over on trial a couple of weeks back...has signed for Sedan instead. I thought we already signed him for the reserves (£200k)? EDIT: Grella will be closer to £3.5m, which is not that bad considering..
nicko Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I thought we already signed him for the reserves (£200k)? There was a deal in place for Baysse but I think he was unhappy that they signed Simpson - and didn;t want to come as a third-choice right back who can also play centre half. I don't fault the kid's attitude on that.

I don't fault the kid's attitude on that. Considering we probably have zero chance of signing Simpson at the end of the season, that is mildly anoying! On a side note, that article has me curious, have you seen some of the figures mentioned? $27 million for Bresciano?! Also, if we spend anything over 3 million on Grella, i would be disappointed...
blue and whites Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 nicko: heard any news on a new right winger?
joey_big_nose Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Are Rangers really going to pay £12m for Bresciano? That sounds like cobblers to me...
laughatthedingles Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Looking at the balance of the squad, there is still work to be done! Keepers: Robinson, Brown Right Back: Simpson Emerton Ooijer Left Back: Warnock Olsson Centre Half: Nelsen Samba Ooijer Zurab Mokoena Right Mid: Reid - not really Emerton - not really Judge Left Midfield: Gamst Treacy Def Mid: Mokoena Tugay Grella? Andrews? Att Mid: Dunn Reid Villanueva Strikers: Roque Roberts Benni Derbyshire
T4E Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Are Rangers really going to pay £12m for Bresciano? That sounds like cobblers to me... Not a chance. Thats far more than the potential fees that have been included in Bresciano reports recently.
laughatthedingles Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 This guy looks class, definatly think we should be giving him a look, he's strong, quick and has an eye for goal. click
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Ince has been on SSN, saying its been really difficult this window to bring in the right players or the players he wants. He also said he is looking to bring in two players and maybe a third before the window shuts. The two: Grella? Andrews? The possible third: a right winger?

blue and whites Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 al habsi, andrews and possibly grella, the future looks great!
tcj_jones Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I don't care how difficult it's been to get the right players in this transfer window, if we go all the way until Christmas without a good right winger, then Ince has messed up big time. Being prudent in the transfer market is one thing, but if it costs you in points, then you've lost that money anyway.
67splitscreen Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Nicko, looks like your mate, in dingle dell, is shoring up the rear guard. Anderson will be allowed to join Burnley on loan
Paulsman Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Hi Nicko, rumours doing the rounds that Everton target Stephane Mbia is now also a target for Blackburn and Newcastle?
Hasta Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 The press are linking us with Al Habsi, Bolton reserve keeper. Don't know why he would come here as a reserve if he's already there as a reserve, but were a BIGGER club. I was wanting us to go for Al Habsi during the summer. In my opinion last year he performed far more consistently than Robinson. If he were to come then I think he might could be number 1. However I've only seen a handful of games of Al Habsi so would want to see more before I pinned my colours to his mast.
Tom 1 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Rovers asked about Al-Habsi but were told no. Milner is still alive for Villa...but it's hard work. Bellamy to Man City? It would not be a surprise. Why are we pursuing this, he should up on Milner and go for SWP. Milners a great lad and a good player but I get the feeling Newcastle are taking us to the cleaners here. I don't understand the huge hold up on it. Deadline day I bet..... Surprised Hughes is going for Bellamy, the man has been a sicknote for all of last season.

If he were to come then I think he might could be number 1. However I've only seen a handful of games of Al Habsi so would want to see more before I pinned my colours to his mast. Fully agree. I can understand why Bolton don't want to let him go though.
modes98 Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 However I've only seen a handful of games of Al Habsi He has only made 16 appearances for them, so nobody's really had a good enough look at him. From the goals i saw him let in he looked a bit lightweight and didn't have the ability to reach the shots in the corners, but admittedly I have only seen him in a couple of games. He has got a long way to go before you can say he should be challenging Robinson for the number 1 shirt.
roverfanuk Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Offer being considered: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4051377,00.html Take it thats one of the players then? So Al-Habsi, Fowler and Andrews? Excuse me for not being excited by this prospect...?

However providing he's fairly cheap I'm not going to grumble about his signing.
