sambo Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 As some may have heard, there was a message over the tannoy asking for Sam and Josh Miller to contact the nearest steward. Obviously you won't be aware of the circumstances - on the way to the ground he suffered a heart attack, he had gone alone after forgetting his season ticket. The way the stewards etc dealt with it was excellent, we felt in safe hands and received help with a lift to the hospital - they did everythng physically possible to help us, and offered emotional support. Obviously I missed most of the game, but the way Rovers helped us was first class. I will be posting this on the official site too. The only disappointment was a group of v.young teenagers laughing when they knew we were the ones asked for on the tannoy and laughing when we told them our Dad collapsed - shameful.

bazza Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Hope your Dad's OK. Glad to hear the Rovers' staff are great. Might be me some day!
CrazyIvan Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Yeah, I agree. I hope your Dad is ok and makes a full recovery. It happened to my father and it's scary as hell.
Hughesy Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Hope your dad is ok mate? Wish him a get well from all of us 'supporters' dont let the little idiots bother you.
Rover9 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I'll second Hughesy's comment, hope your dad get's well soon pal, just a shame about the little sh*tbags.
rovgers Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 best wishes to your dad, hope he'll be fit for the next game. Bleading chavs, we seem to be attracting more of them days.
colin Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I know what it's like. My indestructable big brother had a mild one 18 months ago. Horrible few months for all of us I hope your Dad gets well soon. Buy him a bike and make him use it.
Raymond Rover Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 All the best for your dad mate. Some people can be mindless idiots, if it happened to them they wouldn't act like that. T*ssers.
thebigguy Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Saw this before but at a away game rovers away off course and not saying names but he is ok and fiting fit again(mild one just got sent to hospic and then beck to seeing rovers). But t#ssers like that need a good beatinging. I ended up staying at pub today just cudnt go watch rovers today and hope dad is fighting fit if he is ok
sambo Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 He's currently stable but unconcious. However, luckily (if this is the word) for him, he collapsed right in front of a medic and two paramedics near the ticket office. I h ope the chavs were laughing out of embarassment, as 1 of the 4 did seem to apologise. However, Rovers did deal with us superbly and made sure we were well looked after.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I hope he comes through OK mate. Nobody would have batted an eye lid if you had chosen to snot the lot of the ignoramuses.
thenodrog Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Nobody would have batted an eye lid if you had chosen to snot the lot of the ignoramuses. Prob earn himself a life ban from Ewood and an appearence in court SG. Our justice system does not really cater for summary justice no matter how deserving. Best wishes for your Dad Sambo. Similar thing happened to mine many years ago when he was 61 and he lived to follow the Rovers for another 20 years.
roversmum Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Best wishes, hope your dad has a full recovery. Must be very worrying for the family.

Hughesy Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Sambo - any update on your dad mate? Hope he is ok.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Best Wishes to your father Sambo, i hope he makes a full recovery.
philipl Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Hope your father is on the mend now- best wishes to all of you at this difficult time.
Atomicrover Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 After I had mine, the doctor said I mustn't do anything exciting. Somewhat dismayed I asked if that include watching football. He asked me what team I followed and when I said "Rovers", he said, " No, That'll be fine"
chocky Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Sorry to hear your story mate...hope he will be O.K.
sambo Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 yeh i heard the announcement. you sit in the blackburn end upper tier right. hope your dad is ok. i sit in blackburn end lower. It said the upper tier, but I now sit in the lower tier...it probably just was mistaken because I had previously sat up there for 10 years (I am 16 now) He is picking up, he was sedated as a precaution but is now picking up and should make a full recovery! At the moment he can hear us and half respond but can't speak - more just opening eyes etc. It was only a week earlier he was fighting fit away at Bolton! Another positive is Rovers - they rang today to check on his progress, and it's good to feel in touch with the club - most probably feel estranged from the club but it was great to see they had our interests at heart. Was a bit unnerving at the time, we had to walk the full stretch of the Blackburn End with stewards at the front, with confused faces staring back! Anyway, thankyou for all the messages of support and I will be sure to pass them on! If anyone knows him, his name is Andy Miller, he owned the Cabin End many moons ago if its of any significance to anyone.
Amo Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Good to hear your father is doing better, and I hope he makes a full recovery. Keep us posted.
