Stuart Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I actually think his article is bob on though. IF Bentley had stayed he might have just grown up enough for it to make the difference. Might not though! Oh well - another wasted English talent in my book who'll never get back to top form.. Difficult to argue with the description of Bentley - although it sounds once again as though Ince is finding excuses for failing. Funny how it's never been his fault. People have slagged off McClaren but at least he's come clean about mucking things up with England. I'd be very surprised if Ince ever did. Can't say that Bentley staying at Blackburn during Ince's reign would have made matters any better though.

roversmum Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Of course it wouldn't. He'd have been too busy being 'pals' with Ince to bother about anything else.
philipl Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 It is all a load of rubbish. Remember Ince stated he wasn't going to sell players during the infamous "not yet" introductory interview then a few days later categorically stated he was not selling Bentley. After Bentley was invited by Archie Knox to do 20 sit ups for standing with his arms folded Ince could not get him out of the club fast enough. So far as I am concerned, that entire article is after the event make believe rationalisation for cock-ups which did in fact happen.
T4E Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Plenty on here argued that Ince didn't sell DB, didn't they? Well spotted Den. Nothing Ince could have done about it, Bentley was already gone.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I dunno, if someone is feigning injury and refusing to play like DB was in preseason, it doesn't really matter how good a manager you are(nt), does it?
broadsword Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Irrelevant anyway, the case for the prosecution has many othe ritems of evidence rather than just Exhibit A - David Bentley.
Amo Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Doesn't mention how well he invested the Bentley money... Andrews & Grella were hardly suitable replacements for an attacking winger.

waggy Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Irrespective of Bentley's attitude, he's a far superior footballer to Andrews. if you say so
Amo Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 if you say so I haven't seen anyone willing to pay £15m for Andrews.
waggy Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I haven't seen anyone willing to pay £15m for Andrews. and what happened to the guy who did
Al Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 got to be andrews he's playing in the premiership and internayional football That's it. Enough is enough. Waggy is on ignore. Please no quotes guys. I know I've just done it but Sheeeesh!
Amo Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 and what happened to the guy who did We're back to Bentley's attitude and not his inherent talent as a footballer.
CrazyIvan Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 We're back to Bentley's attitude and not his inherent talent as a footballer. Bentley's talent and Andrew's attitude would make a fantastic player...
Stuart Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 That's it. Enough is enough. Waggy is on ignore. Please no quotes guys. I know I've just done it but Sheeeesh! That's what's sent you over the edge, Al? That's one of his funniest posts in a long time. No way was he being serious. But the more people bad-mouth the guy, the more I'm beginning to root for Andrews. At least he looks genuinely happy to be a Blackburn Rovers player...
Dunnfc Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Whos uglier though that picture of Andrews or the famous luke chadwick?
