Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Just had ST taken off me and details taken after card was rejected. Lots of people affected so get down now or you'll miss the game.

Ben-2000 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 It happened to a guy in front of me too, but luckily for him the steward just waived his pass and let him in.

ABBEY Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 good job there only used 19 times a year..they conked last season too.
thenodrog Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Alternatively......... I got there 7 mins late and walked straight in. Dunno what the problem was as my card didn't work but the steward waved his in front of the reader and his released the turnstiles immediately.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Yes, the stewards let everyone in with passes but we were told to hand over our tickets and were given a receipt, replacement cards are in the post. And there were no queues because they appear to have stopped writing down everyones details/collecting cards.

And there were no queues because they appear to have stopped writing down everyones details/collecting cards. Another fine mess by the administration department of the club. At 2.30pm I was moved into three different turnstiles at the Darwen end of the Riverside, none of which worked. The gate steward eventually got his pass to work. My comments to him about being being a complete shamples went unheeded.
dazmaz Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 i got to ewood to find a que from turnstile g right the way up to bolton road, only then to find out only 3 of 5 turnstiles where open
rovers1995 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 My sisters worked. Mine, my dad's and my brother - in - laws didn't. Maybe it's the old tickets that aren't working because my sisters is a new card.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Mine was a new card and it didn't work. Other people in the queue had a mixture of old and new, so that doesn't seem to be the cause.
Ossydave Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I've no idea if mine has a problem, just walked straight in without even showing my ST card, anyone could have got in yesterday.
stuwilky Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Admin fault if techonology fails?! WTF The ticketing and turnstiles system is an administrative system. It went faulty. Its an administrative fault.
Hasta Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I got there at 2.50 and the queue for the Blackburn End was huge. At about 2.55 it suddenly speeded up. I presume that is when the stewards starting allowing anyone in without even bothering to try their card. Had they not done that then there would probably have been over a thousand people still outside at kick off.
ABBEY Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 bring back the old blackburn end turnstyles...CASH ONLY. season ticket a book of raffle like tickets . the system never crashed back in the day.

modes98 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I guess it is the figure of everyone who was swiped in, as normal.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Yep, and I'd say there was significantly more than 25,000 there.
Ben-2000 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I think the attendance figure was about right to be honest, also when the stewards swipe their pass that will count towards the gate. My ST didn't work for the Man City game for some reason but have been issued with a new one now and everything is fine.
chocky Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 My ticket didn't work on Saturday either..but the steward at the gate must have realised there was a problem and was letting people in seeing...checking they had their season tickets of course...
Hasta Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Was the attendance figure a guess then? Sorry, wasn't clear. As Ben says, you basically just showed your season ticket to the steward. He then swiped his card over the reader and that let you in. Therefore the attendance could be calculated. From what I can gather, people who turned up slightly earlier were having to try their own cards to see if they worked or not.
only2garners Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 We had an explanation of the problem at the Fans Forum last night. There was a major system failure with a number of server problems including the one serving the SkiData system. This server would not reboot and was sent back to SkiData for repair - in the meantime SkiData provided another on loan. This was configured for the system and appeared to be working OK. It was only when the first fans arrived on Saturday that it was realised that the system wasn't accepting the oldest cards still held by fans - there are four different versions out there now. Within 10 minutes the club had worked out the problem and stewards were issued with control cards to let anyone in whose card didn't work. This obviously took a bit longer than normal, hence the queues, particularly near kick-off. Given at 2.45 there were still 15,000 fans to go in it's understandable that queues will develop if there's any problem.
ABBEY Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 if there were 15k outside why the balls wasn't ko delayed?
Hughesy Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 There wasnt a need - we got in bang on kick off - the ques were moving fast and id say 75% were already in the stadium...
