rovers1995 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I just hope its good news by Nicko, that means NO-ONE going and us getting a striker/creative midfielder in.
Kelbo Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Is that a new station then? Yep, they shipped it down, remains of the old RO factory!!
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Roberts going alone is good enough for me. Useless lump. Anyone coming in would be a bonus. Beattie would be acceptable. Dindane is just a horror show. That polish lad could be interesting. Lets just get this window over with please.. Whilst I would love to see the back of Roberts, bringing another loan/not replacing him would be suicidal. It's worth remembering that Kalinic was brought in for Cruz but we still haven't replaced Derbyshire (Di Santo is on loan and prob out of our price range) Benni has gone, Roberts may go as may Hoilett. Given that forwards tend to be the most expensive players to replace the board would have to dig very deep come Summer. At least 3 good forwards are required (if playing one up) four if we play 2 up - yet the only one we may have in July is Kalinic.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Best news would be Roberts going and two striker targets identified. The "creative midfielder" role can be filled by Dunn, Pedersen or Basturk. Second best would be everyone stays and one striker signs. Kalinic, Di Santo, Roberts plus one is enough for this season. Third best Roberts goes and one striker signs. Hoilett is grumbling about wanting to be a striker and if there's no fourth out-and-out on the books he may get a chance to try it out, plus there's Samba. No one in or out would be dull but after a few quiet windows it's all I'm expecting these days.
nicko Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 All right, wee bit early...break for adverts in a good tv programme [for a change]. DINDANE...there is an interest...only came up today...down to what Rovers are willing to pay in terms of loan fee and agents payments blah blah...also big interest in him elsewhere...Wolves keen too...plus one other that came up tonight...fuming that it hit Sky...makes me suspicious about the deal...not a bad player on loan...wouldn't be buying him straight off. BEATTIE...with Stoke for the Sunderland game...not happy that he is still waiting...but no rival bids for him...does that tell you something?...it tells me a lot. ROBERTS...rumours of Leeds wanting him on loan...big wages for that exercise. MORTEN...looks like running down his deal. Lots going on all over but we don't have the space even in the infinity that is the internet. This Mo thing is good...when do we start seeing some of his goals for Thistle, Watford, Celtic and Rangers? For the Burnley fans...tried for Hulse on loan and got turned down. Strange. The Mears to Sunderland thing is not right at this stage. They will sign Hutton...but probably not Benjani.
rovers1995 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Nicko, is there no chance of Pedersen signing a new contract with us? Also, Dindane, no thanks, if he can't do it at Portsmouth what makes us think he can do it here?

beerwins Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I would stand by my previous post saying 110 disgruntled fans. Is it just me or is every team intent on buying prem players only? Sunderland must be the worse for this, every player they are linked with is already a prem player. No bargain buys to be had in the prem, if they are cheap its because they are crap
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Nicko If all we are interested in is these 2 strikers, why does Allardyce keep babbling on about another signing "not neccessarily a striker" as a replacement for Benni??
Eddie Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Uninspired and unoriginal. Why sell Benni to bring in a less talented player who scores fewer goals? Beattie? Dindane? All pointless really. What exactly do our scouts do during the season? Do we just wait until the transfer window and see who other premier league teams are trying to sign or dying to sell?
brfc_jonesy Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 As much as I do value what you say nicko. I'm going to choose not to believe it, and reckon it's a load of pony...only so I can get through tomorrow with a little bit of hope!

All pointless really. What exactly do our scouts do during the season? Do we just wait until the transfer window and see who other premier league teams are trying to sign or dying to sell? It's ridiculous. The club have known that Benni would go most of the season yet they haven't got anyone lined up. ###### poor management.
Torgeir Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 How many transfer windows in a row now? Loan Dindane for the rest of the season, then buy a proper striker.
mellison24 Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 This messageboard needs to get a frigging grip. Just because a player does badly at one club, doesn't dictate how he'll do at another! And we can't dictate who gets signed, so whoever it is, GET BEHIND THEM IF THEY PLAY IN THE BLUE AND WHITE HALVES!!!!
Backroom Tom Posted January 31, 2010 Backroom Posted January 31, 2010 Well that was a let down, nothing particulary unexpected or original Tomorrow will be another deadline day disappointment it seems

Sam to chief scout: Where have you been scouting then? Chief scout replies: Barbados Sam Sam to chief scout: well you find any players then? Chief scout replies: Players for what? Sam to himself: FFS Damn malibu addict means im going to have to wait until everyone gets there targets and see who is left.

Yes that includes the players that are hated by our so called fans. (Andrews, Pedersen, Diouf). However, I was hoping for someone that was a bit more high profile than Dindane.

I watched a large number of Lens games when Dindane was there and I was equally unimpressed.

Bruv, if they wear the shirt I will support them, but lets be honest the news isn't what I for one was hoping for....but (Please don't use that word again) it! Come on the Dindane ya demon!

But to criticise someone before they play FOR US is a bit silly imo. As I said, players play differently for different clubs.

If someone has looked uninspiring for as long as he's been in the public eye, why should we assume he'll score goals for us? Of course people will get behind him if he plays in our shirt, but there's nothing wrong with being disappointed that the only striker we're being linked with on deadline day has a very poor record.
