philipl Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Gosh, we have strong feelings about this one don't we? Japan to qualify? This looks as good a chance as they are likely to get.
neekoy Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Tough group, you would expect the netherlands to get first but second is a hard one. Japan as always will be tough but I think I need to go for Cameroon. Pretty good mix of experience and youth, on his day an unstoppable Eto, pretty strong first string back four, Song and Makoun in the middle with the very underrated Emana.
American Rover12 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I think Denmark will surprise some people and come out number two. I think they can shut down Cameroon.
philipl Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Looking forwards to this Group's games. They should be quite entertaining. Still think Japan will qualify.
Bobby G Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Japan wont. One of the poorer Japanese sides of the last 10 years. Korea are miles ahead.
alexanders Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Cameroon and Netherlands will qualify IT Cameroon wants too. As many other African teams they have there discipline problems. Jacobsen starts for Denmark today.
DanLad Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Is that Giovanni van Bronckhurst at left full back for the Dutch? Major weak link there if it is. I remember super Keith Gillespie running rings around him. GVB might be a good footballer, but lacks pace. Very vulnerable to a 'hit and run' winger. If Rommedahl has any pace left Denmark might be in with a chance.
Amo Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Jacobsen solid so far Until Holland brought on that young lad, then he had this hands full.
yellowsubmarine Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Well done to Japan! Solid defensive performance by them!
grizfoot Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Well done to Japan! Solid defensive performance by them! and some people say Rovers are negative, Should try watching Japan that beyond negative football. Although to be fair Camerron weren't much better but their best player, Eto'o was playing right-wing and their best midfield A.Song was left on the bench. Very strange.
Bobby G Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Surprised by Japan although Cameroon virtually didnt show up. About the Dane fans, best by far!
Commondore Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Cameroon played horrible with what is arguably their strongest squad ever. Word around the campfire is that coach Le Guen lets Eto'o come and go as he want while virtually deciding the teams tactics as well, which has angered players like Song and Kameni who both unexplicably were on the bench today. A right mess that.

A right mess that. Why on earth would Eto'o stick himself at right wing though?!
tcj_jones Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Absolutely bizare that Song was left on the bench, and pretty bemusing how Eto'o was not moved into the centre when the original formation clearly wasn't working.
CrazyIvan Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Why do ITV insist on calling Netherlands, 'Holland'? I have Dutch colleagues and I asked the question years ago regarding the names and was told 'Holland' is just a region of the Netherlands. You'd think a TV broadcaster would at least try to get it right...
Hughesy Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Eh up whats Robbie Earle been up to?! Sacked because of this lot - News story
dillo_dillo Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 We're not strong, I know well. finally We won! It was a fluke? I don't care... http://dillo.sblo.jp/article/38944187.html
dave birch Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Japan frustrating Holland in the first half. Anyone think that Van Persie is living on borrowed time? I reckon he should have received a yellow for some "tackles".
dave birch Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 The Dutch have certainly upped their game. Some very slick passing. Great hit by schneider, but the keeper should have saved it.
dillo_dillo Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Gutted... i know, i know we're a weak side... but we were defending well... Ah frustrating! "Well done , Boys!" http://dillo.sblo.jp/article/39057644.html
dave birch Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Dillo, Tulio had a great game I thought. He was up and down the park all game. Japan lacked the ability to control the ball. They were very fit chased everything down, but kept losing the ball at critical times. Was the goal due to the "Jabulani" effect? The keeper seemed to be covering it but only got a bit of his left hand on it.

WA HA HA HA HA HA That is Japanese players REAL ability!! We use that ball on J-league from this season's start (Mar.'10) all right, Tulio was not bad today.... Why strine loves Tulio ....It makes me sick!
