Backroom Tom Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 The team Gyan just joined played in front of less than 400 people in their last game, wonder what possible rea$on he could have for joining them?

chris Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 christ all of Rooney's hair has suddenly grown back and he's scoring for fun, what is there some sort of hair loss cure that also give you increase preformance on the pitch. He looks 10 years younger.

Stuart Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 He had a hair transplant.  No shizzle!
Amo Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011   No shizzle! I never know with chris. XD
chris Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 could have been minoxidil, I didn't know, some guy at my work started using it a while, he's got more hair then an ape now. Plus I remember Hartson had this laser treatment but that tunred out to be a scam. Anyway back to football haha
thenodrog Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Does anyone think Andy Carrol was worth those £35 million yet? I may come to regret saying this, but I feel confident that in three years time his transfer will be seen as a massive failure. If Torres was worth 50m then yes he is. Compared to Phil Jones's ludicrous fee then is he hell. Take your pick. Lets be honest though who the hell cares if the likes of Abromovich and Henry get their fingers burned? Nobody cared much when we spewed a fortune on crap players did they? Of much greater concern to the powers that be must be the nature of the Premier league now. Big money has destroyed the top division in Scotland and turned our Prem division into a perfect replacement farce. No matter how much we all admire the quality of the top clubs the entire situation is anti football and worst of all anti football supporter. Restoring real competition to the Prem must be the primary aim. The Championship is actually becoming the place to be for the true supporters of the game.
thenodrog Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 The team Gyan just joined played in front of less than 400 people in their last game, wonder what possible rea$on he could have for joining them? Sick. And even sicker were the comments from the butter wouldn't melt gobs of Steve Bruce and Messrs Linekar, Hansen and Shearer on the MoTD sofa condemning Gyan and bemoaning the fact that Gyan has obviously left for financial gain!!!!! Honestly the sooner the Premier League and similar is blown to smithereens and there is a return to real football the better.

I'm suprised the Jehovah's Witnesses aren't flocking to worship him cos they believe all that stuff don't they?

Honestly the sooner the Premier League and similar is blown to smithereens and there is a return to real football the better. And didn't the smug t*** Lineker pad out the last couple of years of his careeer in Japan for massive amounts of yen? There is so much hypocrisy and bulls*** amongst the 'pundits' and that I have given up with most of it. I can't remember the last time I watched MOTD and only watch the football on Sky by switching on at kick off time and turning over at ht and immediately at ft. Bruce is the worst example of a football mercenary - watch him jump ship and blame everybody and everything when it really goes t*** up for the Mackems.
Mattyblue Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I didn't think it was possible for MOTD to get even more lazy and smug...

thenodrog Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Re your last sentence- That could be good news for us then. Yes indeed.... but only for 12 months. btw... I do detect a slight change in some press/media opinions recently. I do hope that I have not been mistaken. Walking to the ground in expectation of a decent contest rather than with a sense of trepidition is all too rare for supporters of all but the current elite.

The only way to overhaul the PL is to cut off it's head. A notion with which I'm sure the non-"El Classico" Spanish football supporters and Non-"Della Madonnina" Italians will agree. And the even better news? All the glory hunting pseudo-football-fanatics will all toddle off too. It does however mean that the Premier League will take on a similar standing as the current Championship and may ultimately revert back to being part of to The Football League ,as the likes of Scudamore ride the tails of the PremiEuro League coats. A double-edged sword in my opinion, as the increase in competitiveness and excitement would be coupled will rising prices (for a while) and lower quality, but it might also save a lot of clubs, including us...

thenodrog Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Anybody watched MoTD? Phil Neville had been dropped by Moyes yesterday and there was a marvellous shot of him sitting stone faced on the bench. Not a happy bunny at all. Dunno why but for some reason I just love seeing misfortune befall the Neville brothers.
Billy Castell Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I'm not too fussed about Phil, but Gary has often come across as a right swaggering gobby winker.
Mattyblue Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 To be honest, I think as a pundit he is excellent.
Commondore Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 If Torres was worth 50m then yes he is. Compared to Phil Jones's ludicrous fee then is he hell. Take your pick. Restoring real competition to the Prem must be the primary aim. The Championship is actually becoming the place to be for the true supporters of the game. I think Torres has gone the way of Michael Owen, he seems to have lost a yard of pace in the last two years and now looks a completely different player. The points you make about football in general are all true, but I don't see how they didn't apply before yesterday? The PL have been the way it is for almost ten years now, City and United winning their first two games (United against desperately poor opposition) convincingly didn't make it so. ..and the reward for winning that football competition? Ironic, eh. The only way to overhaul the PL is to cut off it's head. A notion with which I'm sure the non-"El Classico" Spanish football supporters and Non-"Della Madonnina" Italians will agree. A double-edged sword in my opinion, as the increase in competitiveness and excitement would be coupled will rising prices (for a while) and lower quality, but it might also save a lot of clubs, including us... The Serie A during the last few years seems to have gone towards a more competitive climate though, I can see 5 or possibly even 6 teams there with an existing chance of winning the league as well as 2 or 3 outsiders for the European spots.
Stuart Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Reid just dived to win a penalty for West Brom. Deservedly Norwich saved it anyway.
FourLaneBlue Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 About the one good thing going for us this season is that there seem to be a number of weak teams. It is unlikely to require 40 points to reach safety. Which is good, as we have no chance of 40 points under Kean. Most seasons seem to require less than 40 points. Teams have survived quite a few times with 35, even 34 points.
CheeseOnToast Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'm not too fussed about Phil, but Gary has often come across as a right swaggering gobby winker. This. On Moyes dropping Neville from the line-up, I think most people underestimate the effectiveness of Tony Hibbert as a right back. Don't get me wrong, he's gash going forward (as evident by his non-existent scoring record in ten years of play) but he's a tidy and technical defender. Dropping Pointing Pip will only motivate him to play better, and Moyes is shrewd to do so.
Stuart Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Much as it pains me to say it, Warnock has put together a decent side at QPR, and with a list of players who shouldn't have been out of our reach. Playing decent football too. Oh, and give me Tony Fernandes over Venkys every day of the week. He appears to be loving the game and put his money where Venkys put their mouth..
