Schalke superstar Raúl (34) is about to depart for England. The Premier League club Blackburn Rovers make an offer to the Spaniards. This was confirmed by Schalke manager Horst Heldt (41) compared to BILD.de

Don't care much WHO does it, I just want to see that little round shaped thing put in their net and kept out of ours. This Raul chap should help in one of those regards...

the bild are the official reporters for schalke and always been spot on even with the jones issue, they have denied it to me for months when questioned them about it, this is the first time they have admitted it might happen

Well according to the article the mail (surely email) only arrived on Monday.. maybe the official bid just got lost in the post and took 2 1/2 weeks (since keens quote of having bids in) to arrive lol

If we do sign him. he would be a great signing for us. Still would need a another striker aswell. Possibly on loan.

I have and it sounds positive, BUT as this summer as consistently proved with Rovers being hopeful and having BIDS accepted are two completely different things.

The name that I have heard a few times over the last week has been Miguel Torres of Gatefe. Maybe that is one that they are trying to push through. A very decent player but for me he wouldn't be a priority, we desperately need to get some players in with Premier League experience.

Miguel Torres would a good signing for us because he can play in either full back positions.

We need at least 5 signings now. hopefully 3 permanent deals and 2 loan deals.

A full back, centre back, midfielder and 2 strikers for sure.

Nothing suprises me anymore.

Thats not say its a bad thing, but they are so unpredictable!

They could make zero signings between now and Sept or sign Raul and three others.

You just never know.

He's also not burning his bridges, saying we are after someone else but may go back to Raul if that doesn't work out.

Leicester linked with Beckford, would anyone have him as a squad striker? Decent pace, good in the air. I think he'd be a good option

I can't see that, he's Evertons second choice as a striker and first choice Saha is constantly injured. If we are rummaging through the Everton squad, surely Yakubu would be the obvious choice?

Alright, putting the glass-half-full hat on for a second - lets say we manage to sign M.Torres and Rodallega.

Even then we'd still need a couple more at least, and with premier league experience. Make it so, owners!

I can't see Wigan accepting a bid for Rodallega for a potential relegation rival such as us.

As has been said already signing Raul would give the club and us the fans a MASSIVE boost, however it has not happened yet and we have been linked to over 100 names thus far.

I want to see a striker and a defender signed ASAP before anything else.

wonder what kind of fee they would want?

Zac mentioned 4m, we only wanted to pay 3m, but that was a few weeks ago.

Massive wages also, but that may have changed.

Forget Raul we need a team not an individual. The money could be well spent on more depressing areas of the pitch such as the gaping hole in our defence.
