BBCLancashire Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Hello all, this is Andy Bayes at BBC Radio Lancashire. Just wanted to send you all a quick note to say that match commentaries will be returning this season after not being able to bring you them last season. We are also doing a Rovers special Wednesday night programme every six weeks between six and seven. Joining me in the studio this evening is Rovers supporter Ian Battersby and the Daily Mirror's Alan Nixon. We'll also hear from Paul Hunt, during the hour. If you'd like to get your points across this evening you can be calling 01254 583-583, text 81333 starting with the word LANCS (charged at standard rate), we're at BBC Lancashire on facebook or @BBCLancashire on twitter. If you would like to join our fans panel, give us your views on Rovers on a regular basis, feel free to send me an email at andy.bayes@bbc.co.uk and i'll just take your details. Many thanks, and let's hope we have a great season. Andy

RibbleValleyRover Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Hi Andy, Excellent news on match day coverage returning to BBC Radio Lancs, it was missed by a great many last season especially on days when Rovers were playing away fixtures and couldn't make the trip. I'm looking forward to having a listen of this new programme as well.

PAFELL Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Good news for all concerned. Only caught the last 5 minutes - so what was the good news all round. All I heard was Rovers will finish in the bottom 6.
AggyBlue Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 That was a very good listen. I'm sure it will be available on I-player later for those that missed it. Off to Chorley for the reserve match now.

Ewood Spark Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Does an BBCLancashire radio APP exist ? I might be able to tune into the game when Im situated in London. You could use the 'TuneIn' app which can play all streaming radio stations from around the world (including Radio Lancashire).
cruz Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Ok thanks. The games were covered by roversworld anyway. Poor value for money imo
A cup of beans Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Poor value for money imo i agree, on rovers player. but radio lancs is poor value for money too! i like bayes.. he's a talented presenter and commentator. hickson irritates. his and the broadcasts in general are very blackpool obsessed. rovers dont get as much airtime as the other teams,.. commentaries apart. when they had the phone-in, on a saturday evening.. hardly any rovers fans appeared on it. apart from when liver presented.. and more rovers fans were heard! funny that!
A cup of beans Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 what was said exactly? hear for yourself.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00j9qdp/Sport_10_08_2011/
roverandout Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 just listened to the whole programme, finally people speaking sense, hope the people on here, with their heads up their arses were taking note.
Nate Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Hunt certainly has had his PR/media trraining done. Talk about a puppet.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 i agree, on rovers player. but radio lancs is poor value for money too! i like bayes.. he's a talented presenter and commentator. hickson irritates. his and the broadcasts in general are very blackpool obsessed. rovers dont get as much airtime as the other teams,.. commentaries apart. when they had the phone-in, on a saturday evening.. hardly any rovers fans appeared on it. apart from when liver presented.. and more rovers fans were heard! funny that! Always known as 'Radio Dingle' amongst the lads I went to games with, with good reason. It has been that way for years. It's almost as if some they begrudge Rovers their Premiership status. That said,I quite like Andy Bayes too, I think RL's Rovers correspondents have gone on to do well for themselves. As for Mr Hickson, well he's a bit of a joke to be fair. Cant say I miss his phone in too much........ "Uhhhh......aiya Gary, Sam 'ere from Barnoldswick. Ahm just back from t'Turf..................."
