It is possible he is being asked to play the Ribeiro role, The formation & player roles look to be mirroring the first team, with the right back pushing forward more Quote

Well aware of the point you made, the point I made in response to it suggested it may be the role he was being asked to play He did pick up a couple of injuries on his loan last season, so possible that has impacted himt. But until he is forced into chasing the ball or a man at full pelt, we won't know for sure either way. Edited 2 hours ago by KentExile Quote
Tugayisgod Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm not one for being harsh on players, particular young lads, but I'm beginning to wonder what the hype is about Tyjon. Really haven't seen anything yet that makes me think "wow" . Probably go on to get a hat trick now , but have to say I think he's a long way off first team football. A loan may do him good. Like young Funny, got a nice left foot but you do worry about him physically as well, needs to bulk up a bit. 1 1 Quote

He easily ran in behind getting on the end of a long ball before. Didn't know what to do with the ball though and tamely passed it back to the GK. Quote

Or at least not without a big strong partner to look after him and win the long balls for him. 1 Quote

KentExile Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I do wonder how Mullarkey-Matthews found himself anywhere near the first team squad in pre season, even given our lack of wide players at the time, Doherty (who is currently on the bench) has much more about him Purely because he is a big lad for a wide player and quite physical? London blue Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Litherland looks very, very good breaking from defence. Chris Smalling comes to mind Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I take it there's some age rules attached to this fixture? Would have been a good game to get De Neve and Gueye minutes - assume you literally have to be U21? Quote
London blue Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Some shocking defending on display, though. Batty put in the softest challenge and Dale get time in the box to set up a point blank header. 3-2 Quote

Torgeir Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Doherty always full of energy and takes players on. Nice to watch Joseph for the first time. Looks a unit but not offered any service here. 1 Quote
bigsigarner Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Never quite sure what this competition proves apart from the young uns are miles off. Rochdale started one player from game at weekend so we are basically playing a reserve side. Quote

If I was scout for a lower division league team looking to loan a left back in January I’d be looking somewhere else. Quote

I’m still waited for that “ Wow “ moment that tells you there’s a special talent there. Wharton took me about 5 minutes. Quote
philipl Posted 55 minutes ago Posted 55 minutes ago From the tiny bit I saw, Isaac Dunn looks a great prospect Quote

He was getting caught in possession quite often. He should have been subbed off on the hour. I’d say he’s a decent prospect and he has youth on his side. Quote

We’d no real idea how to get back from 3-2 down, it was just hit and hope. Very easy to defend against. Quote
