Mattyblue Posted January 26 Posted January 26 We went into that season with a load of optimism, real buzz around the ground that night… of course we fell away. 1 Quote
Popular Post Guy N. Cognito Posted January 26 Popular Post Posted January 26 Just another in a long line of chancers who never would've got a look-in pre-Venky's. Out of his depth and just looking to use Rovers to monkey-branch his way to a better gig. The fact he went on protest here as a player merely adds to the unsavouriness of it all. 12 Quote
scotchrover Posted Saturday at 17:10 Posted Saturday at 17:10 If Venky’s don’t want us in League 1 again, he goes (along with Val) tonight. 8 Quote
OnionBalaji Posted yesterday at 07:14 Posted yesterday at 07:14 Hopefully Rudy is getting ready to make the call and get rid of his best pal Val this morning. if it happens - let’s turn the heat on him and Pasha - these three individuals have to go. The list of fuck ups, awful decisions, downright neglect is already so long it’s farcical they can keep getting away with it. 1 Quote

They do want league one though. All there actions so far have shown this. It will all be much easier and cheaper to run a middling league one club than a middling championship one. It's all about bringing the club down to a level thats comfortable for them to manage. As things stand the club is far too big for them. Edited yesterday at 07:52 by MarkBRFC 6 Quote

For one - any shortfall in the playing staff wages cannot be made up by directors loans. They must actually lose cash. They run rules similar to the EPL - called SCMP Edited yesterday at 09:01 by Dreams of 1995 1 Quote

As things stand the club is far too big for them. In theory it sounds plausible, but on closer inspection I am not so sure. We're a Championship club with the legacy of a Premiership structure. Although things have been starved on the playing front, we have a 31,000 seater stadium and Cat 1 Youth Academy. You have to factor in the structural costs of running the club, staffing levels, maintaining the ground (even if it is half-empty) and the less tangible cost of fan expectations. Even if a contingent of our supporters have been beaten down, the rest won't settle for following a League One side. It would take some SERIOUS restructuring for us to function at third-tier level. If the goal is cost-control, then League One is a terrible place for Rovers. Like I said before, this is pure neglect from disengaged, disinterested, and disgraceful owners. 1 Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If someone wants this tosser summed up, just look at his profile banner on LinkedIn. At the heart of the image is our hugely experienced former captain who we were happy to see leave embracing our only reliable defender who this twat saw fit to sell on deadline day. 1 Quote

Aqualung Posted 10 minutes ago Posted 10 minutes ago Is there a more unlikeable man behind the scenes at any professional football club? I don't hate many folks tbh... But Gestede is on a par with Russell Brand in my book. Can't stand to look at either of them. 🤮 Quote
