Ricceh Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I mean, if he doesn't try to play in the prem he'll never know, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up abroadΒ Quote
roversfan99 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I dont see the evidence that he has been sold a fairytale. All he has done so far is declined an old contract from us which is almost certainly nowhere near fair. We are 11 days post contract expiry, I think the month after expiry is also paid. So its not like we can conclude that no one has come in for him, still time to mull over his next very important moveΒ 2 Quote
USABlue Posted July 11 Posted July 11 So this latest deal is not happening now.Β Medical issues have been suggested.Β Perhaps he was on the treadmill and someone asked him about the 10k cap. 3 Quote

Popular Post sharpysharps86 Posted July 11 Popular Post Posted July 11 All the best to JRC. At one point under JDT he was immense, if only he had been able to kick on and become a key player.Β If Charlton can get a tune out of him then they've got a decent player, but it was definitely time for him to move on from Rovers. Things had gone very stale for him at the club. Same with Buckley, he needs a fresh start elsewhere. 11 Quote
cesus Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Joe was excellent during that spell under JDT, I think the following 18 months has seen his form fall off a cliff. Good luck to the lad, always grafted, always cared.Β Β 6 Quote

If you have players that can shift then you can sit deep and counter attack.. If that's how we're going to play then I'm excited.. Would love to see us deploy a front two, think this could be a big year for Gueye. I'd like to see him actually play a slightly deeper role, think he has great feet and can win a flick on, play a quick lad who can press on the last man.. Some pace at wide and this big lad (if we get him) in the middle- at least it's going to be interesting.. I think we're desperate for a centre half- someone to replace Batth, we really felt his absence last year! Couldnβt agree more. Aside from Khadra, difficult to recall anyone with genuine pace since Josh King, and Bowyer kept him on the bench. Quote

JHRover Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Jackpot for the Venky stooges - sell a couple of players for cash AND hoodwink the fanbase, via Nixon, that we were close to agreeing a bumper extension. 1 Quote
Old Codger Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Not bovvered. If he is going to cost us a threpnny' bit more than Β£520K per annum, I say let him leave and seek his avaricious satisfaction elsewhere. We, as a purely focused on the deeds on the pitch kinda club, should dispense with the services of any charlatan charlie wishing to purloin more than ten thoisand poinds per 168 hours from our coffers. We aren't in the position to go cap in hand every week to the benevolent dark overlords and overladies for scraps from their fulsome table. Nay, let anyone whose champagne tastes are outwith our brown ale budget go and sling their headbands into the mire, and good fortune to those wasteful clubs who perceive any of our playing staff to be worth more than a morsel of cheese. We are a brown ale, pale ale, mild, IPA sort of outfit, and should cut our cloth caps to suit the lack of ambition, lack of strategy and lack of hairy bollocks that our so called benefactors serve up year on year as platitudes for the misled masses. I, for one, yearn for the days of champagne, canapes, lines of coke and mainline shots of Bolivian marching powder up the nostrils, as those were the best days of Robbie Fowler's career (at Rovers). However, as a long standing (but more often than not these days prone in the gutter) fan of our great old club, I accept that nobody other than Chaddy himself, actually gives a horned shit anymore about anything coming from the establishment.Β I shall rock silently on the terracing of many an away ground this coming season, safe in the knowledge that the Legacy of Jack Walker, and my own 45 years investment in the club I love is in cracking hands. Wankers. 7 Quote
roverblue Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Thought it strange we were spending money on players. Makes more sense if JRC and Brittain are leavingΒ 1 Quote
NJRover Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Taking some crumb of comfort in that it's Nixon reporting this vs anyone else. Guy can barely call the weather when he's standing outside 1 Quote
TugaysMarlboro Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Oh we were so close to agreeing a contract extension. We definitely can't now Middlesbrough are interested... 2 Quote

Tomphil2 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Ah the old was just about to agree a contract but..... All being orchestrated but the hold up on his pre signed replacement has spoiled the window dressing. 2 Quote
