As expected, we're not offering competitive salaries to any of those having a year left on their contract. We offer the same as we did 3-4 years ago when the last contract agreement was made and now, basically, expect that the players will happily sign an extension to it. They probably asked LT to print articles about these "ongoing negotiations" with Brittain, Hyam, Travis, Tronstad etc. to make it seem like they're making an effort when in reality there is none. Then cry foul when some other club is offering better terms. 

We finished 7th last season in the Championship but the loser mentality of the board and owners belongs in the dustbin of football history. I'd rather take relegation to L1 over last year's result if it means a fresh start with new and ambitious owners.

Ismael has been straight talker, open and honest about the Travis's fanbase and the fact Travis has asked to leave Rovers. Is that wrong? being open and honest with the supporters, is that what we want as Supporters? 

Should the Travis's contract situation been sort by now? of course it should have been. A new contract and terms should have been sorted about 12 months ago and he should be seeing out the next 4 years here. Same as Brittain, Tronstad and Hyam. Hyam's contract should be easy one to sort out. A new 3 years contract with 16k a week plus bonuses based on performance. Same with Tronstad now and similar deal with Hyam. Rovers should be offering new contracts to Yuki Ohashi, Karbgo and Toth now. 

I noticed that Sreenivasa Rao was there on Tuesday against Bradford, anyone know why?

Yeah he's still on the board. He had some of the family down and told him to look into matters also about a few sponsorship deals

Toxic, paranoid work place to create fear and obedience –check
Remove expensive players –check
Remove expensive staff -check
Remove any staff not totally compliant and complicit in the ‘new’ cheaper orthodoxy-check
Compliant local press and social media plants willing to disseminate the puppet masters narrative -check

On players speaking out –could be NDAs (a la Big Sam) or could just be the culture of omerta among players –a sort of extension of what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. Only guessing.

Looks like it, the damage has been done so we  now need to see a pattern of players being sold .

The damage doesnt seem to have been done on Hyam, or maybe Tronstad. We are just refusing to offer them any sort of rise.

Valerien Ismael says decisions have been made on which young players will go out on loan with Jake Batty and Harry Leonard likely to go out

Not that I expect Leonard to impact the starting 11, but this will leave us with just 2 strikers in Ohashi & Gueye and still only looking for 1 extra player?   But that is a right winger, not a striker

It genuinely looks like an act self sabotage 

* I am in favour of loaning Leonard out.  But surely we need to be bringing in someone else, even if its a short term stop gap on loan whilst he is away

How do you know this?

How can you, or anyone else (including Ismael) know that the information he has been given by the regime at Ewood is correct or honest?

Answer is you don't. Nor does Elliott Jackson, It just sounds nice to believe that everyone and everything at Rovers is wonderful and honest and there's nothing untoward going on.

Yeah we will all be buzzing that we didnt allow Brittain, Travis, Hyam and Tronstad leave on frees when we are relegated to league one 

We go down to league one again we won't be coming straight back up.Madness to let all our most experienced players to leave in one window.

The money doesn't get reinvested so il ask again why as a supporter should we be hoping that we get a bit of cash rather than have then here helping us stay in this league?

What they'll do here over the next 12 months is cut everything back as they are doing, spend only the bit they have done, then only promote youth, bring in frees or a couple of hundred grand players and a few loans the next few seasons.

All designed for another fire sale in 2 years that they'll be deluded enough to think will bring in similar money to this one and as you say those not sold will walk and there'll be another round of staff changes, reset, new journey/project/chapter or whatever.

This is the model now sold to them by god knows who.

League position is immaterial, maybe even league.

Between Suhail and Gestede they have now decided that there is no need to pay more than 10k a week for a player with those two as their proof. 11 “A” players on a max of 10k. 11 “B” Players on a max of 6k. And 11 Young players on a max of 1k. Any exceptions will be phased out.

So, along with Pasha/RG cementing their authority, the above model, (along with the Rao’s refusal to inject money over and above that which is generated in-house) is not interested in league position? If by a miracle the model leads to promotion, then so be it (but many believe that is actively thwarted due to unwanted scrutiny). If it leads to relegation, then so be it –less scrutiny, media don’t care, revolving door of players can continue creating fees for some, mid-table mediocrity still achievable, fan expectation can be easily managed.

That assumes that Ismael really wants to keep them, it did look like he tried to keep Britain but if he wasn't signing, he had to go .

What Ismael wants is irrelevant,  He does not offer contracts or negotiate wages, he can ask those above him to try and sort things out, but from there, it is completely out of his hands

This is entirely a decision of the bean counters

There's always a lot of assumption on this subject that the  manager would like the club to pay more to keep the players.

Ismael has already said this week that there will be one more addition, unless anyone else leaves.
