All I recall was in answer to the question “We’re they signings that you gave the ok to, that you wanted” JDT “First of all I’m the head coach. I get (given) the players, I train the players”. That distinctly wasn’t a “Yes” How things will work at Blackburn Rovers under new 'European model' | Lancashire Telegraph It is a bit like the European way, where you have the Sporting Director and a Head Coach. Of course, Gregg needs to provide us with those names and I need to buy in as well, before I say yes. Quote

So he said it the day he walked through the door in his first-day interview, long before he knew how the club was run. He was also told we would re-invest money that we brought in (the project - let me know if you want me to patronisingly explain it to you). In case you are unaware the project changed, somebody threw a hand grenade at it and by the end he was saying “I get given the players and I coach them” In fact, when you hear JDT offered to resign as “the project changed”, why would you then think he was “happy” to be signing the likes of Telalovic. That alone tells you the quality we were buying was not to his satisfaction. Edited 4 hours ago by Hasta 1 Quote

You can’t honestly believe that he wanted attackers all summer and in the last few hours of the transfer window he thought “Thank god Greg has found this guy from German regional leagues. He’s the kind of player I wanted”. Quote
roversfan99 Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago It sums up chaddys inability to take things beyond face value. Even if we believe that he and he alone chose him over a 31 year old mystery La Liga striker alone. Its not as straightforward as that meaning that he wanted him. After those budget cuts ("the project changed" is a miserable summary of the spiel in modern day football) the more likely scenario is having called for a striker for ages, the 2 who he was offered the choice of were both crap, and Telalovic was in his opinion the least bad option. Doesnt mean that he wanted him. 1 Quote
