I can’t remember JDT saying it.

All I recall was in answer to the question “We’re they signings that you gave the ok to, that you wanted”

JDT “First of all I’m the head coach. I get (given) the players, I train the players”.

That distinctly wasn’t a “Yes”

How things will work at Blackburn Rovers under new 'European model' | Lancashire Telegraph

It is a bit like the European way, where you have the Sporting Director and a Head Coach. Of course, Gregg needs to provide us with those names and I need to buy in as well, before I say yes.

Ok. So he said it the day he walked through the door in his first-day interview, long before he knew how the club was run. He was also told we would re-invest money that we brought in (the project - let me know if you want me to patronisingly explain it to you).

In case you are unaware the project changed, somebody threw a hand grenade at it and by the end he was saying “I get given the players and I coach them”

In fact, when you hear JDT offered to resign as “the project changed”, why would you then think he was “happy” to be signing the likes of Telalovic. That alone tells you the quality we were buying was not to his satisfaction.

and he still have the final decision on who we signed as GB said in his second to last interview when he stated that it was JDT call whether to sign Telalovic or the 31 year old loan La Liga striker.

Yes I know the project changed in the summer 2023 thanks and JDT offered to resigned which looking back maybe we should have accept given what we now know about the JDT situation and certain things around it.

all in the past and nothing to do with the Everton friendly

You are too intransigent to acknowledge that although JDT may have chosen one over the other, the fact he offered to resign because the project changed tells us he wasn’t happy with the quality we were bringing in.

You can’t honestly believe that he wanted attackers all summer and in the last few hours of the transfer window he thought “Thank god Greg has found this guy from German regional leagues. He’s the kind of player I wanted”.

It sums up chaddys inability to take things beyond face value.

Even if we believe that he and he alone chose him over a 31 year old mystery La Liga striker alone. Its not as straightforward as that meaning that he wanted him.

After those budget cuts ("the project changed" is a miserable summary of the spiel in modern day football) the more likely scenario is having called for a striker for ages, the 2 who he was offered the choice of were both crap, and Telalovic was in his opinion the least bad option.

Doesnt mean that he wanted him.

RF99 always looking for the negative or something that isnt there in everything even when there isn't one.

Anyway back to Everton's pre game guys

If you genuinely thought that he was satisfied by the club filling the void of a striker he was desperate for with Semir Telalovic then you are more gullible than I thought.

Great move and a really nice goal. Could be a goal of the season winner if it was in a serious game.

It felt like we scored a few similar to that last season.

We didnt score anywhere near enough goals in general last season but quite a few especially under Eustace (2 at Cardiff stand out) were really well constructed team goals. Brittain often played a huge part, if and when he goes he will be such a huge miss. Moving forward he manages to compose himself to make good decisions and has the technical ability to put in excellent crosses. This new lad seems to be far more athletic but we wont be able to match the quality that Brittain has.

Cantwell also can play a big part. His dummy was really good yesterday, he did have involvements (eg at Boro away) in the build up showing intelligence that none of our other players have.

not interested tbh, its 2 years ago. Rovers have moved on, Telalovic has moved on, JDT has moved on and I've moved on.

I'm happy to discuss the Everton game if you want to asked me anything about the game
