The Batth of this season is irrelevant. Its the one we had last season which determines whether any replacement is an upgrade or a downgrade.

Equally, Sanderson barely played for us last season and when he did he was not very good. For Derby he has done well and is ahead of Batth. But it doesnt mean he left a big hole here.

Maybe we should have signed Sanderson last season when we had the option. Would you have done that given what we know now

And I think McLaughlin is of equal measure

Out of curiosity who is generous and why? All a game of opinions and context for me but would be interested to see what others think

my grading wouldn’t necessarily be based on their ability alone more coming into a shitshow and how I think they have performed

Eh? How they have performed depends on their ability doesn't it?

When you’re at Baath’s age there is always the chance your form will fall off a cliff. The history of Football is full of examples of other players.  That was the gamble Derby took and we didn’t. I think we got that one right.

A lot depends on what he and Big Club wanted for him to sign. I liked him and I thought there was a player there. I’d have preferred him to McCloughlin I think.

Supposedly 1m clause in loan agreement

Not a fan of McLoughlin?

I think we’ve got 50% of our signings right. Given we’re negotiating with the bag of magic beans that’s a decent score. I expect normal clubs to get 50% right. Really well organised clubs possibly get 75% to 80% right. Nobody gets every signing right. Even Fergie had his share of duds.

Thanks for the reply.

McLoughlin was a backup at Hull wasn't he? On that basis he's done alright for us. He wasn't an upgrade on anything we had, but he's about what I expected.

Miller has been hit and miss. His long throw isn't effective though which is disappointing.

Alebiosu is the star pick of our summer business, and imo it isn't even a contest. Really good player.

Gudjohnsen is a solid poacher but has very little else to his game. For the market we're in, though, he can be considered a success for sure.

Personally I like Morishita and think he'll continue to improve as time goes on.

TGH is... well, he's there. Doesn't really do anything wrong, but not a game changer either. Adequate utility man.

The rest were a waste of money.

Gudjohnsen has decent link up play.

Alebiosu has been our star signing.

Morishita has been solid signing.

McLoughlin and Miller has been more than solid signings, yet the odd bad performance grant

Baradji is the one I want to see more off.

TGH has been orite

Not every signing will work out but that's normal within a football club

With context yes

if we compare to last season then it’s a fail which I agree it should never have come to this and we have downgraded in most positions

however without comparing to last season and just looking at ‘this seasons squad’ and how they have performed for us given where they have come from I think as stated about 50% of the signings have been average or above

still a failure on last season mind you but more treating my grading on their own merit

Tavares is the most disappointing one for me i was expecting something from him.

Sure there's a player there but he really doesn't look like he fits here.

The likes of Kargbo and Gueye are ten a penny types, one can sprint but not much else, the other is athletic and nothing else.

They either click or they don't there's never anything in between with those types.

De Neve is pants but we've only really seen him trying to be a LWB, which he isn't.

THG don't mind him at all as a squad man and similar with Henriksson.

Mclaughin and Miller are exactly what i expected them to be, in and out but both will get better hopefully.

Agree with pretty much all that, but I think Miller and McLoughlin fall into the 'ok' category for me just now, same with TGH. There is clear room for improvement.

Gudjohnsen is proving to be a good poacher at this level. I like the dynamic of him and Ohashi...they just need support in the way of backup forwards.

Morishita has flattered to deceive at times, but I do think he's a decent player.

I think Baradji is going to be quality, if he is given a run of games.

The major poor signing of the summer has been De Neve, although I didn't exactly have high hopes for him in the first place. Oh and Tavares...who I did actually have hope for, has been woeful.

It's imperative that they make some decent signings next month, and not the rag tag recruitment of last January.

We should recall Leonard in January...oh wait...

Don’t buy into this growing narrative at all regarding Leonard.

would I have preferred a loan move yes absolutely but he isn’t the answer for us hopefully he continues his good form seems a doing genuine lad

He's literally a loan?

What's the clause for buying him? Does anyone know? I doubt we'll buy him regardless of clauses because - we can't afford to

What growing narrative? I presume you are referring to Ismael's philosophy of 'if you can make it in League One, you'll make it in the Championship as well'.

I would not write Henriksson off yet. It more looks like Ismael who has a Pochettino esque style in adding new concept and wanting physical and players who train really hard and removing older players who not buying that style is having good progress with the younger ones (Pratt, Montgomery , Miller etc) and the hardworking ones (Japanese players).

The De Neve experiment has failed they tried to take a cheap left footed punt and make him into a LWB because he had good running stats.

Clearly not a defensive clue in his head at this level so maybe try him in his more natural position occasionally, otherwise throw the towel in and get rid.

Maybe loan him out to league one to build him up.

Iv seen plenty online bring up Leonard recently because he’s on a good run
