I have already said very clearly we need a centre back but I would moved Carter on and bring back O'Riordan to fill his spot. 

I think we need but also we have a couple of options that allow us to moved back to different formation if we need to. We should also have a Plan B in case Plan A doesn't work. 

I don't we should be such an overhaul of the forward area during a January transfer window. It will be more difficult to find 1 striker signing given most Championship will be looking at similar players. 

But you still doing an overhaul during a season which I wouldn't do. Move Pickering and Gueye fine but others, not for me and It is far too soon to write players Henriksson and Tavares at this stage. These players will be needed and lets see if they can step up now.

So you agree that we need a Hyam replacement AND a second centre back that could potentially be O'Riordan.

My comments about what we need arent necessarily aligned with whether its likely in January. But we are massively short at centre back, we were even before we changed formation. We are short at right wing back. And we are now massively short up front because we play 2 instead of 1.

The last response shows that you are really reluctant to accept the reality of how the club operates nowadays. Trying to spin signing players like Sanderson as proof that we do sign quality that we need in January and being bored by the suggestion that we dont get what we need.

I thought Sanderson was decent, certainly good enough to be on our bench. He starts every game for Derby and Baath doesn’t.

But he definitely doesnt prove that we tend to get exactly what we need and/or upgrade our team in January. That was my initial point, there might be the odd serviceable squad player in that time admittedly.

Agree on Henriksson and Tavares. Any players coming from overseas need to be given time to adjust. I do worry about Tavares attitude and application though...I think that may be a big factor in why we have barely seen the guy in recent weeks. I think the technical ability is there, but the player himself has to want to do the hard work.

Henriksson has the potential of a solid championship player IMO, but he needs to get up to speed with the pace of the game at this level. Remember vividly how Tronstad took a while to get going when he first arrived, so I'm hoping its a similar case with Axel.

I think we need to bring in a central midfielder to come and cover Tronstad. The problem is, it’s unlikely you’ll sign his replacement in January. Not unless you’re willing to spend a bit over the odds. We won’t

It’s likely we will go for a centre back and then look to supplement the squad with what is available. A centre back and centre mid for me is the priority.

We are probably fine everywhere except of course defensively, I honestly don't know what we would do Miller or McLoughlin get injured or suspended. Same goes for Alebiosu. Can't think of the answer in the current squad for those places

A real problem if Alebiosu goes to African Nations or gets injured.

Thinking that Rovers are "Venky's baby" ( their phrase not mine) I am reminded that one definition of child neglect is the persistent failure to meet the child's needs.

There's another phrase about the need to prepare children, so that they are ready to start school. Was this club ready for the season? Is this the first season we had concerns in that direction?

And yet, there are moments, when I still feel the passion .....like Deepdale on Friday!
