  1. If you were limited to three signings, which of our current player’s would you start? I think I’d go with the following (I’ve assumed we’ll be sticking with 3 at the back and Sammie will be sold): New Carter Hyam Pickering Brittain New JRC Tronstad Hedges Siggy Gilsenan New
  2. I feel his display second half yesterday warrants the commencement of a thread of his own, as he clearly has talent and will be more & more involved this season as it progresses. He was excellent; his first touch, his vision, his range of passing, his desire to go forwards, and get stuck into a tackle. It was all there, really promising. Let's hope he can push on, gain a bit of strength & be a real asset. Mr & Mrs Wharton must be over the moon.
  3. I'd like to discuss fans opinion of Steve Waggot and how he runs the club. 1) Concourse/catering etc 2) ST prices 3) Matchday prices 4) Away fans at Ewood 5) Brockhall Academy More I'm sure. What are your thoughts?
  4. Time will tell if this thead continues, but on Sunday there could be just 3 teams separating us in the league. In 2017-18 we finished 2nd league 1 , while they were 7th in Premier league ( 38 teams separating) I honestly couldn't see us getting back and we were in a right state, but just maybe the rightful order will be restored with a promotion and there relegation. That's my new year wish anyway , together with covid doing one .
  5. I've seen a few threads with poster's thoughts/opinions on SS. So as to not bung up those threads and to give a consise place to discuss our highest xfer fee purchase during the window I thought I'd start a new thread. I know it is really early days and I don't want to judge a player too early. However I must say that I'm underwhelmed thus far. It appears we have a over paid for a relatively limited player. And I'm still not quite sure what he is supposed to offer that Dack couldn't?

  7. telalovic is a desperation signing because greg could`nt find anyone else,he might turn out to be extremely good but it`s still a desperate and hopeful move on his part
  8. Does anyone know when the next Zoom chat or whatever will occur for the Fans Forum? I'd love to know when the current commercial deal ends and if there are plans to change it. Are they aware how generic their offering is and how much more money they could take in if anything looked different to the stuff they sell in Matalan (unfair on Matalan; they do decent shirts)? The last time I had to spend my club cash it took me half an hour to find anything on their site even slightly appealing (in the end, I went for several bags of jelly babies, some cola bottles and a scarf which I got rid of without ever wearing). Every single t shirt was beige or navy dreariness with a crest attached. Why are blue and white halves such a rarity on our merchandise?! The pictures below illustrate the point. I'm partial so obviously picked out stuff to back my view but it is hard to find something genuinely attractive. I know that I could e-mail them myself but I also know that I would get a generic response: "We at Blackburn Rovers remain committed to providing our supporters with an attractive range of items" You can hear the person yawning as they type it...
  9. Someone posted a topic like this around the same time last season when there was genuine hope of a playoff spot. Fast forward 12 months and Rovers have 11 games left to pick up enough points to stay up. Here are my predictions; Millwall (H) - draw Plymouth (H) - win Boro (A) - loss Ipswich (H) - draw Sunderland (A) - loss Southampton (H) - loss Bristol City (A) - loss Leeds (A) - loss Sheff Wed (H) - draw Coventry (H) - win Leicester (A) - loss I have 9 more points. Will that be enough?
  10. What has happened to the general maintenance of Ewood of Park..does anyone at the Club care anymore?. We were gifted the new Ewood Park from Jack Walker,a legacy dear to all Blackburn Rovers fans and the People of Blackburn in general. 'We will respect the Jack Walker legacy' fawned Madame Desai...yeah right! The current state of the Stadium is not acceptable,I urge fellow Board Members,Fans Forum and even visiting Telegraph Reporters to get involved on this thread and issue. Further photos will follow as hopefully it will shame someone at the Club into taking action,It's shameful and embarrassing for a Club of our Stature...PLEASE VOICE YOUR CONCERN.
  11. No one started a thread on this game yet 1 0 rovers joe rankin Costello from a corner RTID
  12. I've always been an admirer of this lad and actually thought he was deserving of keeping his place ahead of Kaminski at the time. I argued with many mates who were convinced Whalstedt was a better option when he's clearly not even in the same league. Don't get me wrong, he has made errors in the past and he did make some notable errors last season but he also had some great games that he was never given credit for because people had already made up their minds. Since he's come back in, he's been absolutely brilliant in my opinion. On Saturday he kept us in the game but the fans got on this lads back so quickly when he makes a small mistake. Seems some already made up their mind that they think he's sh*t and to me it just seems a hivemind mentality. I personally feel i'll always give credit and criticism where it's due and this boy for his recent performances deserves a lot more. There was a fella giving him pelters all game on Saturday but not once clapped him or gave him credit for keeping us in the game. An English goalkeeper at 25 years old, giving us performances like he has done recently is someone I see as a real asset, he's made some mistakes but you have to make some to become better and to me he looks like he's improved a lot. Even the small things like watching his near post better, his starting positions and angles when closing down 1 on 1's. His distribution has always been good aswell. Was nice to hear a chant of "England's number 1" and I really hope the fans start to get behind him now because his best years are firmly in front of him. Keep that chant going. Last night's performance was a real display of how good he can be especially when he has the confidence of the fans behind him. Well done Aynsley Pears.

  15. A video package here of Dolan's best bits from the last game against Doncaster. He had another great half, as he did against Blackpool and Fleetwood Town. Scarily, Mowbray played down his performance and claimed that Sam Gallagher would've come on ahead of Dolan if he had have been fit, and Dolan would've been down in Leeds with the Under 23's! Hopefully now TM can see the talent that they've acquired in Dolan.
  16. Just a bit of fun, or not.. Call me a pessimist but I don't see why we'd pick up a win out of our last few games- even then it looks like a couple of draws see's us (hopefully) limp over the line. We're a poor side and I'm not entirely convinced we will stay up looking at the fixtures of sides around us. Championship » Table calculator (worldfootball.net)
  17. Thought he deserved his own thread. Based on the rave reviews he's getting seems like this guy is the most promising youth player to come through since Phil Jones. I can't think of anyone there has been such universal praise for. Got a bit of game time end of last season, and has played a lot in pre season. LET suggested he may go on loan, but I guess he may actually make the season squad given the quality he's show. In our preferred 4231 he seems most comfortable across the attacking 3 mids, but there might be a significant role for him to play in the deeper 2 mids if we want someone in off the bench to improve our passing game when we're chasing a match. We havent had that since Cairney left. Excited to see him, Davenport, Nyambe, Chapman and maybe even Hart and Rankin-Costello play a significant role next year. Plus Travis, Armstrong, Lenihan, Dack, Gallagher and Rothwell who are all established but still young and improving. Also I'm not a Brereton fan at all, but have to admit he's moved on a bit from an abject start to his Rovers career. I think how well we do is largely going to be determined by how these young players step up as while a bit of experience from Johnson and Downing will maybe help shore things up they are unlikely to substantially move the needle from last season. Would love to see a midfield of Buckley, Travis, Rothwell, Dack powering us up the table!
  18. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23460385.dilan-markanday-returned-blackburn-rovers-amid-disappointing-loan/ Hi all Considering our lack in goal threat over the past few weeks (months) seeing this article makes me sad! This kid was brought in, got injured and we've never seen his potential. He's now out on loan and not getting game time. Has he got the potential for our club? Will jdt and the staff bring him back and consider him a new signing in the summer ready for a new season or ? Will he live up to the potential that he showed at spurs or will he live up to the reason why they let him go?
  19. The highly-rated midfielder joined the Sky Blues from the Premier League side in the summer but has been limited to just six starts and seven appearances from he bench, scoring one goal to help Mark Robins’ men to a point in a 1-1 home draw against Huddersfield. However, the Sweden Under-21 international has been an unused sub in the last seven games since he was given the hook at halftime at Ipswich last month and has since slipped down the pecking order, falling even further out of the reckoning since the return of Callum O’Hare and Kasey Palmer from injury. It clearly didn’t make sense for the 20-year-old to make up the numbers on the bench every week, and the two clubs have mutually agreed to terminate the loan agreement with a recall at the halfway point. His departure could well signal the possibility of a replacement midfielder coming in to help City push for the play-offs during the second half of the season. “Yasin has been recalled by Brighton," said manager Mark Robins. "They are recalling quite a few players. He trained on Thursday and left afterwards. We wished him all the best." Explaining why it hasn't worked out for the lad, he added: “I think he’s a really good player and I think he’s been really unfortunate. He started off quite brightly as an impact substitute. He made some really good decisions on the ball, created some openings for others. There’s one that sticks out when created a chance for Haji against Sunderland at home and the keeper made a good save from that. “He’s been unlucky in one or two of his efforts, scored a goal that came off the bar when he reacted brilliantly to put it over the line against Huddersfield, but he’s been a little bit unlucky in terms of the results while he was playing, which weren’t at the level we needed or wanted them to be. “We changed things, the shape changed and we started picking up more points and then it became a little bit more difficult for him, and as time goes on for a young player it becomes difficult because you expect a certain level of minutes when you come to a new club and think you’re going to play every game. And from JDT... "He was on loan at Coventry, he started games and got minutes for them," Tomasson told The Lancashire Telegraph. "I'm sure he will suit our style of play better than at Coventry, with no disrespect to them at all. He's a ball player, he plays with few touches and he can use both feet. He is a young boy. I think he can play in every position in the midfield, number six, eight or ten, with the way we play."
  20. Just seen prices for Bristol city away Wednesday night after Easter and they want £30 a ticket absolute joke cost of living crisis don’t affect football fans then 🤬
  21. Listening to the "what now" 4000 Holes Podcast today got me thinking.... Pears and Kaminski... What should we do this summer? Keep both? Sell one? If so who? Who will be no.1 next season and going forward?
  22. So apparently JDT is gone. I don't blame him one bit. He was a breath of fresh air in a very stale 13 years. Apparently John Eustace is set to take charge. Will the club fuck this up? As of this moment there has been no announcement that whoever was responsible for the McGuire fiasco has been fired. Why? Venkys, Raos, Chicken Chokers, subhuman scum, whatever you call them OUT NOW!
  23. Ti me for damo .... clueless maggot rat
  24. Exciting times ahead maybe. Congratulations to the Egg for getting this one over the line. How long before sparks comes along to tell us he's shit?
