  1. Yikes. Played yesterday though, something don't sit right.
  2. For all the talk about Dacky, still pops up with an assist and almost walked through their defence to score. Lad is a maverick and it's pointless assessing his performances. I remember so many times for most of the game he's done nothing and then all of a sudden bangs one in or opens a team up.
  3. Rodders is looking a class act. Can't fault anyone today. Really need Reedy signed. Evans was class. Trav was solid again. Be nice to have more centre forward options, if we sign Gallagher then we're looking some bloody side.
  4. Chapman is low risk. Few hundred grand for someone with his ability and potential is worth a punt.
  5. I remember TM saying it will take us 4 transfer windows until he feels we're worthy of challenging the bigger sides in this league, now he's saying he's happy with the squad and we're looking at freebies. Looks like the purse strings have closed to me.
  6. Depends on what you mean by special. Gets assists and goals for them fairly regularly and worth a hell of a lot more than what we sold him for. People seemed to forget he was still a youngster when he came here and we're expecting the finished article. If that was the case then he wouldn't have left United to sign for us. It showed a clear lack of perspective from a number of our fans to be honest and a lack of good man management by Bowyer. Once folk realised his potential against Stoke it was too late, the manager had wasted him.
  7. Best: Bellamy away at Portsmouth. Worst: Dickson Etuhu away at Blackpool.
  8. Shamre really, we had one in Josh King but Bowyer wasted him and every time I went to Ewood many fans hounded him.
  9. I think you have to look at it in relation to the fee paid. For 300k I think Bell is a decent signing. Williams cost a little more but I'd say the same of him too. Players capable promotion? Maybe not but time will tell. Bell can still improve, there's more to come from him and Williams is a better CB IMV.
  10. Chuffed for Jack Rodwell. Something that's been overlooked is I think It's been years since he played 90 minutes and won a league game. Not an easy place to get a result and play well.
  11. This lad was on the cusp of the first team when he bossed Liverpool u23's before Christmas. Dunno whats going on. Obviously not quite first team material yet.
  12. Would have though Chapman would have been done 1st week of Jan after missing out last knockings in the summer.
  13. Any chance to post this which sums him as a player and his career at Rovers perfectly...
  14. Not posted on this one yet. All I will say is this... "we f*cking will win on Saturday" TMBWA
  15. Can analyse all day but all I want to see is Joe Rothwell in centre mid and make sure we have a centre forward up front. Play through the midfield instead of miss it out.
  16. I agree. I've also said he needs to take the blame for our recent performances. Like my dad's encounter with Paul Ince, he was just as furious and frustrated as TM and we know how that turned out. Fortunately Mowbray is simply a far better manager. A good performance and 3 points on Saturday is the only way to cure all of this. Actions speak louder than words.
  17. Absolutely, he just seems to have got himself in a twist recently, I hope he can turn it round and get us back to being hard to beat, we've become the polar opposite.
  18. Nope. From the sound of it, it seemed like he wanted to have that conversation more than they did, just to be able to say exactly how he feels to the fans for once instead of having to pick his words.
  19. I agree, talk is cheap... Top bloke mind but we all know that. Results are what matter. I might take him at his word and put some money on it, if we lose he can expect me at the players entrance with my palm open.
  20. Just seen all your posts, I wasn't doing a Nicko, I'm at work!!!
  21. My dad has previous with managers outside the ground at Wigan, he almost had a scrap with Paul Ince which turned into a heated a gentlemanly discussion as they walked round the car park at Wigan ?Anyways... Phoned me last night at 10.40 but I couldn't answer, I knew exactly what he was ringing me about, I'd have bet every penny I have he'd met the manager after ringing me at that time. So I calls him today and lo and behold he has. Some of you know my dad and Macky (who chaired the Ewood protest meetings), as they left the pub last night the team bus was still there so Macky walks on it pretending to me one of the staff ? when quizzed about what he was doing Macky said "I just wanted to speak to the manager", anyways as they turned round they heard someone say "alright lads?" Mowbray got off the coach to speak to them. Keep in mind I'm relaying what was said so it might not be word for word... "what can I say? That was absolutely f*cking embarrasing, I'm f*cking pissed off, they've let the club down, they've let themselves down, they've let me down and you down. I'm absolutely f*cking embarrassed. You lot pay you money and follow us round and they play like that? Absolutely f*cking unacceptable. At which point he apperently apologised to some of the women who were present but said he couldn't help it because of "how pissed off" he was... "I tell you what though, we will f*cking win on Saturday, I'm telling you". My dad didn't say what questions were asked of him but he went on to say "I feel embarrassed talking to you after that but I've told them all exactly what I think". The conversation carried on for some time I think... Mowbray went on "I have to go (apparently because bus was ready to go) but finished by saying... "I've got to go but I'm telling you, we f*cking will win on Saturday" and thanked them for coming before he shook their hands and had some photos with them before he left. I think there was a lot more to the conversation than that, it went on for a little while by the sounds of it but that was the main jist of it I think. Perhaps there might be someone present who can correct it or give a more accurate account and fill in the blanks that I missed. What my dad said was that he didn't just look pissed off, he looked upset, tearful almost but also fired up. From the sounds of it I think they were all a bit shocked by his reaction. If there's anything I missed out I'll edit the post.
