  1. All i can say, is thank God we are on a decent run at the moment and are up around mid-table. If we say lost to manure and drew with wba, i dread to guess what the b'ham crowd would have been. As it is, the positivity around ewood at the mo should see us get 18k ish
  2. Of those games however, wigan have had games where they have attracted more travelling fans. They have havent had a team whose brought less than 2,500 and we managed to get more for wba home then they did for their 'grudge' derby with notlob!
  3. Is that total sales Lee, cos there was a vast difference between the amount of htfc fans in the grnd at kick-off and at the start of the 2nd half! Does that figure include all the late coming htfc fans?
  4. Wasnt that last sunday tho, id hope we'd have sold some more tickets during this week!
  5. How are the ticket sales going for this 1? I hope we can sell out or at least get close to it! Cant go to OT on sat as im moving down to university in Keele Stoke-on-Trent to start my uni course!I'll still keep my s/t of course
  6. Right then, lets have your nominations for players that Rovers were trying to buy (ie put in a bid) or had an offer accepted but could agree personal terms/medical problem, that now your very glad we didnt actually sign. This isnt players Rovers were only linked with. I'll get us started with Matt Jones, remember him. Souness had a bid accepted back in the promotion season, but lcfc sole him away at the last minute. At the time i was disappointed, now i dont know if he even has a career anymore!
  7. Good result last night, and well worth the time going to Ewood. Must say tho, i was supprised with qu's outside the bbe at about 7.55pm, huge! i wonder how long they took to clear? As for the htfc fans, they only stopped coming in at half time Some points id like to raise. Whilst i like Bentley as a player, he is very creative and excites people, i cant help but thinking is isnt a right midfielder. How many times was neill exposed down that left flank. He doesnt track back enough or solid enough in the tackle! Better played as the attacking player of 3 centre mid's. Bellamy, is a different class to the rest of the team tho, his pace for someone who obviously isnt fully fit is quite amazing. Last night, he didnt even bother doing a trick, he simply just ran past players. I knew he was fast, but that fast!! The linesman was embarissing actually, i felt sorry for him. Some of the decisions he made in the first half were bad, could see that quite clearly from bbe lower. However the worst was in the 2nd half when bellamy collected the ball behind defenders to run at them and was flagged LOL. Finally the crowd. Htfc should be congradulated on their superb support. Something that lower teams will do from big towns every so often. Glad they had a goal to cheer and Abbot looks very useful. However, what was that chant they did which sounded like a series of monkeys making noises? Glad to get through, how many prem teams either got upset or had to do ET?
  8. According to htfc website they have sold out their allocation that we game them first up and are selling on the door. I guess we game them 3,000 and they sold them out and will then sell more on the door. Im going tonight, havent seen a goal yet this season so for a £5 i cant go wrong
  9. Yeh fair play, i dont blame anyone for not going, but how many clubs woul love to be in our position? About 70, out of 92 professional clubs a pretty good %. Now im not trying to bury my head in the sand, but i mean look at city fans, they were averaging 28,000 2 div's less than us! We arent anywhere near that stage yet people are giving up on us!
  10. Isnt this fun? ] We should easily be able to beat them on average crowds. Their gates against sunderland and boro were absolute crap. A promoted team with a population of 300k+ only being able to to get around 14,000 home fans (about 3,500 from afc S and 2,000 from boro) is pathetic imo!
  11. C'mon people ffs, get a grip!! Paul, c'mon mate thats not like you, 1 bad game and your gonna give in? Get yourselves to the game, got my ticket before the n'castle game and will hopefully see a few goals. Its only £10 there are no excuses, i mean what would Macclesfield fans give to be in our position (lost 4-1 at home in league 2 at weekend) and here is us moaning about 1 game. Its bad, but lets respond and get behind the lads. We might even enjoy this game cos its cup
  12. Imo, the turing point of the match was when the ref failed to send off Taylor earlier on whilst it was 0-0 when bellers skinned him down the right and he fouled for a second booking. If that had happened, souness would have had to swap 1 of his strikers for another defender and then really try and close out the 0-0. However, i still dont how that finished 0-0. We played ok, no-one had a bad game and bellers ran the channels well. Didnt put the ball n the back of the net and that makes all the difference. Lets have less of the knee jerk reactions, if bellers had flicked his boot about 10 cm's the other way from the Neill(?) drive, eveything would be hunky-dory. Its not, so lets re-group and try to gain confidence by scoring a couple against htfc! Somebody's gotta do the positive post
  13. Im going cos i havent seen a bloody goal yet this season! I missed the first 2 games cos i was in Eygpt on holiday and have so far been to spurs and n'castle at Ewood and also travelled to Villa but havent seen us score! A couple of gaols would make wed night to worth it
  14. Decieded to go to this one and put my money into Blackburn, rather than go to bolton (as Paul once advised me) last weekend. I hope its a good win, after all, that would be great value for money considering im paying £5 for a ticket
  15. Before i post, a quick comment on the front page articule of the site. N'castle didnt bring 7k as they were allocated i believe a maximum of 5,500 (it may have been less). Anyway, boy i wish this was a 3pm sat kick off not on sky, it would make the game so much better. Bigger crowd and better atmosphere, but unfortunatly its on sky t.v, the lifeblood but also killer of english football I think Rovers will win this game as our midfield will dominate. No dyer, emr...... y'all know who's missing! At home where we have played well so far this season will give us our 2nd victory of the season and much needed before a difficult trip to o/t next week! Obviously there will be some needle for this game, bellers, souness, owen (first away game) and Shearer last at Ewood. A good game and victory for Rovers 3-1 Kuqi, emerton and mgp 24,300 Oh and btw, guilt trip time. A mate of mine who lives in London but is orinally from Blackburn is, taking an overnight coach on sat night to blackburn for the sunday and then taking an overnight coach on the sun night for the monday. Who says Rovers fans aint putting the effort in LOL!
  16. Right, lets have some more rain tommorow so we can tie up this Ashes victory. After all, whats fair is fair, it should have been 3-1 if not for the rain at Old Trafford. I fully expect at least a session to be washed out tomoz hopefully more than that!
  17. There has been some very strange things written on this thread. Quite ridiculus sterotypes are being banded around and unfortunatly its just deflecting away from the real issue at hand here and that is the people of New Orleans. This is a natural disaster of quite huge proportions and there are 100's of 1000's of people in real danger of death, disease and injury. Now as someone who was born and mostly raised in England, but to American(yankee) parents i didnt really have alot of time for the South. However, when this kinda thing happens all that goes out of the window, and my and my parents (especially) heartfelt sympathes go out to everyone involved down there in the deep South. The clean up opperation will be long and painful, but it is in the American's spirt to fight back and re-build New Orleans. Comments like 'its nice to see an American city getting crippled' is quite shameful. I dont care if you think 'the war in iraq' was wrong there is no excuse. Oh and btw, you ignorant prat, 95% of the people involved are anything BUT 'yanks' but i suppose you wouldnt be intelligent enough to know anthing about that. 'Your governments shafted you, again. Nay mind, you'll still vote for the same party next time, because you 'always do'. Yep wow, you have to go back a whole 6 years since there has been a different political party in charge of the country. More of a change then your very own Germany (how many yrs of unemployment and still you vote for the same party), but hey you wouldnt bother reseraching something like that eh? Now the Bush administration does deserve critism for this, but remember much of new orleans local admistrations (run by democrats) fouled up just as badly. Lets try not to use as political points scoring but just concentrating on the support for the poor and needy people of New Orleans.
  18. Its not about how hardcore the support is, its the amount of supporters they have. For example, take us or boro. For a home game sat, 3pm kick off we might get say 23k. Now for teams like us and boro, if this is on t.v it takes a coupla 1000 off the crowd. However, for arsenal and chels 45,000 are willing to turn up to a home game sat 3pm. Knock 3,000 of this cos of a sky game, but its still a full house. And to the coupla of post above, keep your hair on it was on a suggestion on my behalf, not my opinion!
  19. I dont see what N'castle fans are expecting? They sign owen, so that means they are garanteed and top 6 place. Sorry to tell you this but Owen is no Pele. People seem to have forgot this as he has been away from England for a year. Yes he is an excellent goal scorer, but how many countless goal droughts did owen have at Liverpool, a club where he will get twice as many chances a game then at nufc? He will score goals, for sure but he doesnt half miss chances as well. The question is, will nufc create enough to make up for this and judging by todays game the answer is no. Sets up next sunday nicely tho!
  20. I would like to see Gresko start actually on sun. He was very good when i saw him at the villa game which i travelled down to. Good player with a decent left mid in front of him!
  21. Missed Mgp, he would have made all the difference! Btw, gally scored again for the scot u21, thats 2 in 2 for the on loan stoke man. Good to see imo!
  22. We won 4-1 mate on a fri night, but Jansen didnt get a hat-trick, in fact he has never scored a league hat-trick for the Rovers! The guys who got the goals were Bent, Dunn, Jansen and Hignett in that order
  23. To play devils advocate here, some clubs are trying to do something about it. By creating catergory games usually 3 tiers, then are charging the most to away fans who in turn usually charge the most themselves. For example, at west brom, catergory a+ will be the £35 for away fans (arse, liv, chels, manure) who are themselves usually the most expensive. However, when we go there, as a catergory b game, it will be £25 for a away ticket. Lots of clubs are now doing this and at least it punishes the big clubs for keeping their prices high!
  24. Does anybody know how many tickets we have sold for the game. Im mean its a local derby, i hope we can at least sell out that allocation of 1,800 for crying out loud, we took 3k there last yr! Looking forward to this 1 as i think we can sneak a victory form this game. 2-1 Rovers
  25. Does anybody have a link to Mgp goal for Norway, as i hear it was a classy finish. He's suspended for the scot game isnt he? Cheers
