  1. Den - I don't see it as Rovers fans having a complex (about Rovers anyway), but moreso worry as to why they are not coming at the generally cheaper prices compared to other Premier clubs and a decent performing team. As said before it certainly isn't just Rovers but shows more due to us not having fans replacing the non attendees - Citeh as are Boro are now feeling the affect big style which is what we (us Rovers fans) sort of as expected would start to happen. What you can guarantee is they will not get slated for the support like the Rovers, and will probably see more people now questioning the decline in Football attendances The efforts by Rovers could well be the yardstick for Fooball in general which could be just what is needed and for the better overall, but you can bet your bottom dollar they won't get any recognition for it.
  2. Interesting theories on this but as a goalkeeper I always had players on each post and IMO it should be Friedal who calls the shots in these situations - so what has happened to a goalkeeper controlling his area? He will have the best view and should be able to dictate for the Rovers players to mark the men. He should have control of the situation but to me that does not appear to be the case.
  3. Well despite the nailed on defeat that 95% of Rovers supporters knew would happen (I plumped for a draw hoping) just a few pointers that we seem to be missing. As we all know we where missing key players yet we controlled most of the game. Now no TEAM will function straight away so I feel afew comments are a lttle knee jerk due to the circumstances as there was a change to the team so effectively this became a new unit. As we all know time is needed for it to gel and become efficient which is why I feel people need to think about this before criticising to heavily as they need to be given a chance. As pointed out after the Bolton game my worry was conceding freely headed goals -and yet again we fell sucker punch to another headed goal - the third in a run in League games which yet again cost us points - 8 now in three games. In addition, my comments re our lack of ruthfullness has yet again been to our detriment - you can have as much possesion as you want but you need to do something with the ball. As a cerrtain god (GARNER) said yesterday - it was our own silly mistakes, lack of not closing down and the final ball that cost us yesterday - something that to me has been quite obvious in the last couple of games. This is what we need to get sorted.
  4. Well seeing as my prediction that the Chesterfield game would be their turning point for the season ...looks like I have to think again. Was their defeat at Saltergate of benefit for us or could it be the last thing we needed? 3 games on the trot with no goals scored for us - doesn't bode well if it happens and two defeats in a row at home doesn't either. So do I go with what my head thinks and our record history down there - or do I go with my wish and hope Form would predict a banker away win - but this is Rovers and we all know the scenario...... and whenever I normally predict a win we get beat AAaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh..... Claret and Poo , its on telly , Wham bars on a losing streak, could we be on the beginning of a similar situation, Spammers in turmoil , corned beefers arriving appears to have upset the camp, historically probably the worst away ground for us to get a result , bubble blowers record has to end sometime. Oh bugger it ... 2 v 2
  5. Oh look - reply works for you bobski Unfortunatley you won't have to put up with me tonight - will you miss me??
  6. No not really (Wigan) Just nowadays just don't have enough free cash to justify spending on Football - made the decision as per last season that I will not be attending the cup games regardless of price. - except the European ones. On top of that - just had to fork out for decorators and new carpets at home and I am away this weekend. Also need to save funds with XMAS coming up and the possibility of us progressing in Europe. Is anybody else having problems with posting /replying to posts as it doesn't appear to be working... MODS??
  7. I don't and I won't be there tonight
  8. Indeed Bobski - thanks for that i stand corrected - the games last night went into extra time so will be as was. So what the hell was the fella on the radio last night going on about - doh!!
  9. As far as I heard there is no E/T only penalties if level at full time.
  10. 2 v 2 with our inability to take penalties culminating in us being knocked out in the shootout
  11. Moi - even though I am still uncertain of him yet.
  12. As per most on here we can all see it on the cards ... similar to when they went down last time and we ended their losing streak with a certain ex hammer chomper notching. The Notlob result didn't help and neither will Savage not being available. - and the possibility of us getting beaten by the Russian Invaders again Add this to the Wham cup game against Chestrfield which I feel they will win and could be their turning point for the season and it all points to being the wrong time for us. However, this team would appear to have more resilience than Rovers of old, so cut out the keystone capers of the weekend and we have to feel confident going into the game. In agreement with Philipl re the thump or be thumped scenario but will wait on the Chelski result before predicting a score.
  13. Maybe they should have let me decide
  14. Well the Bolton fan here at work finally rolled back into day after having yesterday as a holiday - and has to be fair been complimetary of the Rovers. So after explaining it was Charity at Ewood day (honest ) Excellent Idea of Rovers re ticket prices - would appear to be the common thought amongst their fans also and they hope it can be reciprocated in the game at their place. Rovers should have won - agreed The ref was awful - agreed The ball did not cross the line - he says it didn't cross fully ( understandably) - although my only view thus far has been from the BB End The atmosphere was great - agreed partially - thought they where a bit quiet for their numbers They are up there and have yet to play well really (except for the Liverpool game) -agreed Their style of football doesn't please the eye - he agreed but they play to their strengths - an they will play better he says (see Liverpool above and comment below) However - without compost they would probably struggle. What's happened to Nolan - pointed out his moaning instead of concentrating on the game (England mentions) got to his head Their two central defenders and ours had a good game Anelka is class - disagreed DIOUF IS A PRICK - he agrees Looks like they still have their loons - Notlob now just Nob again (see post above - K dropped so they can understand it better) Now i don't know if this bears any significance, but hopefully it will and will be the same for Rovers fans also but with the atmosphere and mostly decent game, its got the Bolton fans 'starting to feel the 'buzz' again and not just because they are in the position they are in -but I feel that probably helps.
  15. On Radio Lancs this morning - said he would definitely be missing the West HAm game because of suspension re his yellow card yesterday being his fith - but nothing else.
  16. My view The ref was just an arse and crap- what was not a foul in the box when a Rovers player was fouled is consider one outside when a Rovers player makes a challenge - and the booking of Savage was a joke. As others have mentioned already, all but for about 5mins we bossed the game and all being well it should have been 4 or 5 - 1 to the Rovers. yes Notlob where lucky but experience should have given us the idea of the type of gameplay they would adopt - of which they are masters - and I still believe in making your own luck. I wasn't angry either because the performance overall was very good in respect to how we played and controlled the game, but the penalties where a disgrace and totally unacceptable. Yes players will miss penalties but those two where diabolical and both exactly the same except for the takers. Professional footballers my arse - a little kid could have taken them better (in fact him at half time would have probably done). Now I know it needs confidence to take a penalty but both of them to me should not have been taking one - Mccarthy anyway as he had a terrible game and should have been substituted early doors and doesn't have the striking technique for penalties -Roberts had just come on and its common knowledge not to let substitute 'still cold' to the game. Now if nobody else wanted the penalty fair do's but we had better strikers of the ball and both penalties to be the same was pathetic. My previous comments about it costing us not taking the chances when they come along came home to roost and showed up our lack of ruthlesness in front of goal. In addition, it looks like our own mistakes cost us the points again - two free headers in two weeks costs us 5 points and needs sorting out. One of them games maybe - but personally I think some fault lies again with Hughes for his delay in the substitutes - MGP should have been off straight away in the second half and Mccarthy following him shortly afterwards (he didn't look up for it to me). Wednesday is their chance to put it right so early - lets just hope we have learnt and yesterday does turn out to be one of those games.
  17. Blood and Thunder Derby - not. Anyway - predict similar to the Citeh game with possibly notlob taking lead. Being experts at it now, a rally in the second half sees Bert awakes from his sleepwalking jetlag and provides a cross for Pedersen to smash into the top of the net this time with his mullet. 3 V 2 Rovers
  18. Good pictures there Wislak Looks like the Ewood Blues Charanbanc made it and the Accy Blues Is that Bomber I see?
  19. Confident but it will be nerve jangling 2 v 1 Rovers
  20. The problem is everybody is everybody is falling into the same trap and expedting it to sell out- as mentioned before price is not the only aspect of the fans no show regardless of which club. This will not sort itself out just in one game - there would need to be many more such ' reduced ticket games' if only to get the drop offs back interested in going to watch 'their team'. What it might do is give an indication but it won't be the 'be all and end all answer' just after one game.
  21. I fear the Internationals could well cost us here re Emerton and Neill - them missing will mean an unstable defence. Its on the cards as we all know - Bellamy scored mid week - first goal for his new club aaginst his former. So 1 v 0 to the once we where famous brigade
  22. Personally, I think it will depend on how well each club has done in the first x2 maybe x3 games to see what the position is.
  23. There are a few of these YB Just realised your signature now.
  24. Welcome to the board PW Most likely the Rovers board will have been in communication about this with the Bolton board so hopefully this will be replicated when we visit your place. Maybe this might just hit home to the powers that be within the game and not just at the Rovers /Notlob - didn't somebody mention on here a while back about Rovers being the club that people that matter would be watching re issues such as this? (Philipl??)
