  1. Funnily enough FR, in Derbishire I see similar attributes to the younger and old Gallacher maybe however with bit more pace
  2. Sorry Rev but for the first time ( I think ) have to agree with Theno again!! (omg ) on this but I do agree on video evidence not being the complete answer though.
  3. Can't see anything other than a defeat Elm Parkers 1 v Rovers 0
  4. Bloody Hell TND I agree whole heartedly Was mentioning this before the Nancy game - my view is that the officials are looking for something that is not there rather than refereeing to what they actually see ie oh, there is one man on the floor and another still running so there must have been a foul etc. This may not be the refs or linemans fault though - moreso the watching eyes putting the pressure on that they MUST make a decision regardless.
  5. Totally agree AESF. Going back to last night , Neill shouldn't have done what he did but its was understandable given the booing on Saturday - however, as what has already been said he should not be Captain and Hughes has directly exacebated the situation as a result in doing so. Lay off the newcomers give them a chance, the one I thought was awful last night was Mokoena. Personally as we won I would start with the same line up on Saturday, then we might see what the players are made of.
  6. Reports would suggest they are an 'underate at your peril' team and their home form is quite impressive. However, add to the fact they appear to adopt a different strategy away we shoudl be going all guns for them.... but as always there is always a but. We are absolutely crap at the moment, Hughes is suggesting players will be rested and when I always predict a win we lose. So even though I think we will win 2 v1 I am saying we will get beat 2 v 0
  7. I don't think you will realise Paul how close you are to predicting the reaction here until tonight , if the responses I was getting underneath on Saturday before I left are anuthing to go by ( how many people where there down there!!) and that includes from ones who already had tickets.... then you could well be getting a call from Mystic Meg. Theno - I don't know if you are deliberately misreading or can't fathom what people are saying, but your responses would deem that you seem to think its all down to cost (including LANCASHIRE BLOODY UTD!! )
  8. Obviously taken no notice of my posts in the Newcastle thread then The Officiating - its either that or I am just a stuck in the mud hankering for football when it was footbal - which is not too far in the past.
  9. Agree FLB, however pricing the Liverpool game will not endear anybody. As I have said before , its all after the horse has bolted, the price plays some part but there is alot more to consider. The fans have already left and sporadic cheap prices are not going to bring them back overnight - the enjoyment, the matchday experience etc has been lost for want of alot of things happening in the game, and what happened Saturday is just a typical example.... I'll be there tomorrow and although away games, after what happened last Saturday I will now not be going to Reading , and I won't be at Wigan either due to the ticket prices even though I now live there.
  10. How many does it have to be seen OR? If you are taking that as an example then every incident would have to be viewed and different speeds etc. The decision on Saturday was just total bollux and to top it off Henchoz won the header first anyway - if players are getting sent off for that and this is what football is coming to then they can stick it up their arse and get ready for even more mass exodus. Not a conspiracy because we are too good (which we are not) but as I have said on another thread , somebody does not want lil'old Blackburn in the Premier League.
  11. Totally Tot agree TND. Too many rules 'interpreted' in my book. Black and white, black and white, black and white. What really annoye me more though is there are ruling bodies that govern the numpties in the middle - there is so much outrage about what is what etc yet nothing seems to be done about anything for the better except the constant harping on about `bloody video cameras'. What has happened to good old common sense and reading of a game ffs? Most in the game know what a genuine tackle is etc but more importance seems to be given up to stupid decisions like taking your shirt off yet and what could have happened instead of what has happened. If All of it is really getting me to the end of my tether and my enjoyment of the game is fast deteriorating much the same as alot who don't go watching anymore. Players managers and refs and their governing bodies all have a part to play it getting this sorted - by this I mean managers punishng players , players getting back to concentrating on football rather than playacting and cheating, berating refs... - refs to question the stupid rulings and black and white areas etc. If Henchoz was a sending off - why wasn't Lehman for Arsenal or in fact both of em especially the shennanigans that went on yesterday. All of it is spoiling the game - most of it down to money. Also with Abbey on this , there is a conspiracy somebody does not want lil'old Blackburn in the Premier League (Media)
  12. If not the players then the Fans certainly do!! Still not taken in by the performance in the 2nd half as this is what should have been happening in the 1st half especially after the performance defeat at Charlton. The annoying aspect of it all is, that regardless of the 2nd half we where still the better team in the first half yet we end up conceeding two sloppy goals and against poor opposition yet again and the geordies for the 2nd year running scored x3 at our place.
  13. Wouldn't bother with Le Chuck's comments Den as I am sure he/she is a ref the way he/she is arse licking to them at the moment - seems to be conned into this oh its a foul the guy must be sent off bag of crap. Sorry, folks we where crap and there is nobody else to blame except Sparky and the players - forget the 2nd half it was TOO EFFIN LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, going back a few posts I'm with Jammy on this - through the prick on the pitch and my own stupidity (I saw red)I nearly had my season ticket taken off me I was close to going over the barrier today after that decision. After the altercation of the damn steward (only doing his job I know ) I had had enough and just waited underneath until they opened the gates - I was off, wasn't bothered whether we won lost or drew from that point - my enjoyment of the game had been lost and is wearing very thin at the moment. At the moment I am totally ###### off with so called ' rules' and interpretation bollux co-incided with the no-contact whatsoever game that the FA nearly lost another Fan today. Fancy a Guinness Jammy, Abbey's paying
  14. Exactly what I have to do nowadays TND unlike when I was younger when I hardly missed a game home or away - except everything else now has to take priority for my wallet 1.SKY TV - got rid of last year 2. No holiday for CK clan 2007on the cards at the moment (except for me and a Euro jolly) 3. Not bothered really about cars as long as it runs - so keep my existing one until forced to change 4. Lucky if I get that 5. 2 Yoghurts a Banana and an Apple - sometimes a bag of crisp thrown in 6. Thats what I do for Lunch 7. XMAS - nope has to stay for CK Jnr (and big kid CK Snr ) but agreed less spending this time 8. SEASON TICKET - on direct debit and plans to renew Agree though the club can't continue to keep reducing prices for particular games, however the ticket prices need to come down in general across the board. As I have said before the horse has already bolted..... interest has been lost on many with probably no recall. IHB covers it perfectly
  15. Its plain and simple - if we can't score against a defence like this then we know for sure we have got problems. Its about time we had a rout or at least bagged more than 1 or 2 goals. ROVERS 5 V 2 The overhyped alcoholic 'where was when you where still sheite' shopping bags
  16. Wrong - every game is a must win although I agree with what you mean.
  17. And basing it on your comments on various threads ... who can afford it. Except of course TND and Chesh
  18. Something I totally agree with and brought up in a topic previously except the tactics(come to that later). Either Den or Rev mentioned the existence of natural talent - this which I feel everybody agrees with , needs to be evident to some degree but what also needs to be evident is an understanding and reading of what the game is actually about. Not everybody needs the speed of Linford Christie or the Bulk of Arnold Schwarzenegger outright but they need the mental side 100% - it needs to be in the blood this can't be installed but it can be brought out and developed this by playing games. Now TACTICS - I hate this word in the world of football - now it might be me but IMO there is only one tactic and that is to win the game. Too much emphasis to me is placed on this is the modern game which I think contributes to the problems with the game. ITS ALL ABOUT NOT GETTING BEAT rather than scoring GOALS. Players need to be able to go out and enjoy the game, be able to express themselves and impact their own style/influence - something which is quite evidently subdued nowadays for the majority which leads back to the post from Billy.
  19. Good points Rev and if the situation is as such no funds are available, then alternatively ( which I think a few would advocate) is the issue of Faith being put into youngsters coming through. If we find ourselves in such a situation and cannot give rise to this faith then questions need to be answered re the benefits of the academy and the relevant people responsible for bringing them through the ranks - why are they not considered good enough, what is going on etc?
  20. Improve in apparent ability maybe not ys but might see a difference in performance and application. Would also get the apparently better players thinking.... we would hope anyway
  21. Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Xmas everybody and welcome to the Wonderful (or not so Wonderful at the mo) World of Rovers. Taken the Blue n White specs off yet? Yet again I have to pat myself on the back for another foresight I gave you all about the front two at the beginning of the season and how it would cost us - fancy flicks but no directness ... and look now everybody jumps on the bandwagaon as if it something that has not happened before. Worry thing here is .. we have not played in Europe for over a week so cannot blame that but yet again its not just one player who does not perform.. something that is becoming an apparent on a regular basis. Add this to the lack of concentration, misplaced passes and lack of application and ideas and you can see why we are having problems. Forget the injuries, we are making mistakes at an alarming rate which is just not acceptable at professional level regardless of whether they are a first team or fringe player. Two numpties up front who get caught offside numerous times yet never seem to be in the box, couple that with the attempts at controlling a ball especially Nonda and wasting good opportunities and we end up with what we are seeing. 5 goals in 9 matches - pathetic Some players need a really big kick up the arse with a reality check ... give the benchers a start and we might start to see some response.
  22. 0 v 0 Charlton nervy because they need a win - Rovers normally the charity case try to abstain from getting beat and our forwards flatter to deceive.. 20,127
  23. Funnily enough TND .... I did which I don't think people will be surprised to hear , don't know if BobF was listening though
  24. Benfica - their ground is tremendous and the Tube runs straight to it with a shopping centre next too it with bars and food outlets and a bit of fairground on top.
  25. Not for wanting to repeat others .. the Palace play off immediately comes to mind but as some have said the actual outcome may have been for the best. Trelleborgs home and away/Citeh at home as mentioned One not yet mentioned and only for the particular reason that the Rovers fans seemed to be everywhere was the defeat at Stoke in the old first division when we where on our unbeaten run. Sheff Utd in the cup .. and the resultant (expected) on penalties defeat. Away at Port Vale 2 v 0 - again in the old Division when they had already been relegated but moreso to change the performance rather than the result - we where awful. There are many more.....
