  1. So if he scores 20 goals in this league you wouldn't be happy about Venkys spending £5m on him?
  2. It's optional isn't it? If he's no good send him back. If he's firing in goal after goal, get the £5m paid.
  3. If TM had signed Brittain and Hyam I'd think... FINALLY we've spent some £££ on defenders. Imagination wouldn't even cross my mind.
  4. Completely bonkers but he'll keep you stable. Likes to have half a season off. Once played a centre forward at right back, for no reason. Played same CF as a winger whenever he could, for some reason. Once played an aging defensive midfielder as a false 9, for no reason. Played one of the league's top assisters on wrong side, for no reason. And he likes to nullify the opposition over playing to his teams strengths which can be frustrating. Decided that when sitting in second place and knowing that his top scorer would be on international duty or could get injured, he decided not to bring in any cover then openly spoke about his decision in the local press - stating that, in basic terms, we don't play with a centre forward here. On the other hand you'll have some games where you'll play like Barca. Well maybe not Barca but he'll have them playing well. Next match he'll make 5 changes for the sake of it, and they'll play like a pub team. Known in these parts as Tombola Tony.
  5. He's another Gallagher in terms of goalscoring.
  6. Second half Saturday we created plenty there was just no goalscorer.
  7. I hope they play him and he's as crap for them.
  8. We'll see if he's naive if he plays JRC at fullback and Dack as centre forward again. He should drop Buckley too.
  9. I remember seeing Richard Brown at Jans Petrol Station after a match. He also played in the 7-1 drubbing of Norwich. I remember seeing him on the team sheet and thinking bloody hell this is going to be a tough game. Norwich were top of the league I think. Tony Dobson wasn't crap by the way.
  10. I'd have four at the back and have Dack behind the front man.
  11. He was the sort of guy who tried to get off with everyone's girlfriends and tried to turn people against each other. He'd tell people's girlfriends that their boyfriends had cheated, stuff like that. Just a really awful snobby little sociopath. He was being a pest with someone's missus one night then claimed he was going to knock her boyfriend out (her boyfriend was supposed to be a pal of his too). After dark the lad went after him. When confronted about it he was almost crying and begged for forgiveness. This is the same lad who led the charge against Take That era Robbie Williams on the mean streets of Stoke. Didn't stop him to continue being a complete dick though. I was only there a year but mutual friends always bring up memories of him stirring up shit.
  12. A Wharton for Morton. Pickering upgraded. Diaz sold, quality winger in. Gallagher upgraded. That's a decent team.
  13. The best senior debut since Damian Duff against Preston in the cup. Needs to play more, that guy could be the engine the team needs.
  14. He once told us him and his mates beat up Robbie Williams on a night out.
  15. Anyone still having flashbacks about Buckley and JRC's performances in that first half? Someone make it stop.
  16. I get Bowler but why wouldn't Styles come here? Has he had PL interest too?
  17. Although I agree in principle, at the moment the team is more important. If we don't strengthen significantly we'll keep struggling. But we do need a decent goalscorer and someone to replace Brereton on the left if he's going. At some point we should get rid of some of the players who clearly aren't going to step up like Butterworth, Pickering, JRC and Edun and replace them asap.
  18. There was a lad I used to know at Uni and he used to always refer to his home as "the potteries" like it was some weird cult. He was also a tw@t of the highest order. I can't explain how annoying the guy was. What a f***ing intolerable wretch. Not a week went by without someone wanted to slap him. I didn't know they were all like that.
  19. Coventry forced him out for the cash, maybe he was very comfortable there. Robins didn't have any part in the decision too.
  20. Blackpool are a point behind Rovers. If he's doing okay then isn't JDT? There won't be any semblance of scoring against the opposition because if Brereton doesn't score, the team usually doesn't. And it's been that way since Armstrong left. He took over with the team in a shocking state, star player on the verge of leaving, an injury to a very good defender and the guy who has provided the most assist and he's only 2 and a half months in.
  21. He has played through the middle, I think they were short of strikers and played him upfront for a few games. I imagine he's played center midfield for cover too.
  22. Are you deliberately overlooking the injury list, players leaving, lack of transfer activity and the fact he's been here for just 2 1/2 months? Let's not forget that the previous manager had 18 months of being goalscorer-phobic and it's easy to see why we're struggling for goals. We've been struggling for goals since January.
  23. Some Burnley fans were in meltdown up till a week ago. Look at what a couple of signings has done for them.
  24. On this it says he's played mostly as a left winger for Malmo. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/veljko-birmancevic-2022-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics
