It's been no secret that Glen has been ITK for about 12 years. I've no reason to disbelieve him. He's been on TV with Shebby Singh and was the guy who told them to sign Rhodes. He has pretty much a direct line to the owners people in Pune. If anyone is ITK it's Glen so I don't know why he'd bother to make things up. I've seen the emails. We know that the club changes their direction like the wind (Warnock/Coyle) so I'm quite happy to believe that the club sounded out Farke and he was first choice. Farke also had a great job offer so it's likely we did want him but he preferred Bundesliga.

Cardiff were playing 3-4-3 and 5-4-1 that season, so those stats may not tell the full story. He was playing in the midfield four in the 3-4-3, covering the full back position when necessary - and in the 5-4-1 was playing as a wing back, moving forward when necessary. But in any case, TM's management didn't get the best out of him. He's a left back/left wing back. I can only imagine that is his best position due to the amount of assists he had for cardiff - 9 assists in first half of the season for them. I think his total for us was 1 in 10. 7th top assists in the Championship.

Giles was always out of position. Plenty of assists last season, just not with TM managing him.

I was exactly the same, I couldn't understand it when some fans were happy. And then when Kean was appointed I remember some applauding the decision which I found bizarre. Allardyce drove me bonkers sometimes but there was no way he should have been sacked. There were some great times with him in charge, some lows too but nothing that would compare to the nightmare that followed.

JPVH would be a dream come true but let's face it, he's going to be a future PL star that lad. Him and Diaz's goals are the two things they must replace next season if we have any ambition.

Because your reply seemed to suggest even without quality replacements we'll finish higher without Van Hecke, Lenihan and co. Even with decent recruitment I don't know if I'll expect a higher placed finish as it may take the whole thing to gel, but I won't expect a relegation fight. If we do a Venky special and bring in some journeymen and a couple of kids on loan, I fully expect a lower placed finish if not worse.

You expect to finish higher without quality additions? Van Hecke solid at the back - Diaz scored 22. Lenihan had his best season. We'll do better without them? I think you're expecting a lot if they aren't replaced.

And that profile shot could have been taken 20 minutes before or after JDT started talking. Same with the other shots of Buckley and co. Someone could have been telling them they'd ran out of steak bakes for all we know.

If we don’t sign some quality players, relegation. We are going to massively miss Van Hecke, Lenihan and Diaz. And to a lesser extent Khadra. To an even lesser extent Rothwell.

To be fair that cuttaway could have been filmed anytime and chucked in there to wallpaper over an edit. Someone else may have been speaking when that was recorded and they just used it because it’s one of the only shots they had and wanted the video out quickly.

Whilst he was allowing them to know him personally as well as professionally. But I’ve read he’s also capable of a bollocking so perhaps there’s a bit of an edge to that first meeting from those who have been on easy street.

As I said elsewhere, Kompany was at Anderlecht as a kid, broke into the first team then went back after he'd finished in England. So he's a hero regardless of results. His career as a manager is pretty limited and unspectacular but in the Championship may find it easier than managing the (struggling) top club in Belgium. Similar to JDT really, took on the biggest team in the country, under acheiving. Finished 8th and 3rd. But JDT finished top two years running 👏👏👏 Both managers are an unknown quantity in the EFL.

For some reason I thought they'd appointed Rosenior.

Part of that is he came through their youth team, became a professional there, then went back after his time in England.

Did he really say "healthy" budget?

Maybe Venkys didn't want to give TM any real money to spend in his final two seasons?

How does the Belgian and Swedish leagues compare? I don't have any idea. Two third place finishes in Belgium compared to two Swedish league winning finishes and a winning the round stages of a Champions League campaign. How does this translate to managing two clubs with massive rebuilding jobs before the league starts? No idea about that too! But it's more interesting than previous seasons for sure.
