I’m not sure about stability as the club is in around £150m of debt, it’s as unstable as it ever was, however you have to give Mowbray credit for bringing back some respectability to the club. Even if he did spoil it a bit with last seasons pressers. He annoyed the heck out of me with his tombola and his strange decisions but I have to give him credit for giving the veneer of a normal club during his time here. We played some good stuff, had some good times and have had a lot of other moments I’d rather forget. I won’t miss the weekly feeling of dread before the team sheet was issued. He wasn’t as bad as some made out, but not as good as others made out. Good luck to him wherever he goes next.

I think Leeds are down and aren’t going to pick up anything from their remaining games. Burnley have one less game than Leeds so that may have some bearing on it. Everton always escape.

You can’t deny TMs record. He struggles to manage a game for an entire match never mind an entire season.

But under what circumstances was he played there? I don't think any Rovers fans have an issue with players playing out of position. All managers do it. Anyone remember a silver haired Mark Hughes playing in midfield? Those times Hendry or Samba played up front? Look at Chris Sutton, started life as a centre half. The difference is, those either worked or the manager was forced into it. In many cases Mowbray isn't forced into it, he just does it for fun. And he does it week after week as if he's too stubborn to back down. Giles on the wrong side, Gallagher out wide (and full back!), Dolan as a false 9, Clarkson as a false 9, Armstrong out wide... Bradley Johnson as a false 9 😄 and he'd have done it again if Johnson hadn't gone public about it not working.

Did he do it every week? Did it work? Because Mowbray plays several players out of position sometimes twice weekly and it's never worked. Who was the striker by the way?

I always thought his contract ended on May 31st. I can't remember where I got that from. Anyone know when his contract ends?

His record in the last ten matches at Derby are similar to TM's at Coventry. Sounds like the ideal candidate then. You'd hope that they aren't giving TM a contract because they want better but if they get this fellow in, it's another very odd and self destructive decision.
