Scumbags contract was stupidly costly - combined with compensation to Allardyce. Berg was on a million a season. We paid compensation for Appleton so I presume he was on decent money. Bowyer was installed as manager presumably because the manager budget for that season had dried up. I feel sorry for Bowyer as it's now looking like he was our best manager even if he did fall short - and he probably made the least dough out of it. Lambert won't have been cheap back then. Coyle will have been on more than you think. Mowbray won't be missing family time for buttons. He extended his contract in 2018 so something was keeping him here. Whoever they get next will be taking home £1m or close to it, a season. No matter if they are good, bad or Tony Mowbray.

Where the eff has Venus as director of football come from? Please tell me that it's just a Twitter rumour.

Here it is again, if anyone is in any doubt at what went wrong. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19898505.tony-mowbray-explains-blackburn-rovers-didnt-sign-striker/

It's because Steve Cooper wanted his club promoted. Mowbray wanted to massage his own ego and delusions of grandeur. -

A damp squib sums Tony Mowbray up. We lost it in the January transfer window when he was dilly dallying over changing his name to Pep. -

Even with the useless Venkys, if Mowbray had been more savvy and not created problems for himself we may have made the play offs. I'll always blame Mowbray for this one. -

Big January signing, a kid from Tottenham with no professional appearances 🤣 Second place, we knew we would be without our only goalscorer due to international duty. Didn't sign one useful player in January. -
He went at the start of January. Still picking up a wage weirdly enough.

Well that's that, at least TM's fate is pretty much sealed. 9th placed finish it is. That's a massive tumble from second. If we had proper owners they'd have sacked him when it was obvious he couldn't get a tune out of the team any more, and installed Farke for a proper promotion push. Though it would have been always been a tough gig when you consider the manager thought he could sustain the challenge with zero notable goalscorers. -
So nothing to do with Johnson as a false 9, Gallagher as a winger and Giles on the wrong side then. Or the fact that he's had every other team he's managed crashing from decent positions since he became a football manager. Alright. Preston aren't £150m in debt so aligning the clubs (never mind our) expectations would be naive at best, stupid at worst? Would be interested in your answers for that one. Your post highlights the short sighted nature of many fans regarding business aspects of the club. They just turn up (or don't) for a day out thinking the club can sustain turning the lights on year after year whilst plodding along.

They don't want to pay him the mammoth amount of two months compensation. -

I'd say we look leaderless but we actually play better when TM sits down. -

Please leave Tony and allow some fresh ideas into the club. Preferably ones that don't include Gallagher on the wing, Bradley Johnson as a false 9 and playing without goalscorers. -

Formation wise, looks a mess to me. Too many players looking like they haven't a clue what they are supposed to be doing. Which is a bit of a Mowbray trademark. -

I didn't know that. Looks like they changed the ref for someone from Sheffield. -

Yep, but after Preston we seem to have reverted back to every other game over the last 3 months. -

After all the discussion about the referee's bias before the match, I think we can confirm that the mother******* **** **** son of a ***** ****** is indeed biased. -

We're being very casual with the ball. There's only Van Hecke willing to lump it away. -
If Carlsberg did Burnley recruitment.

Wrongly disallowed goal - check. Soft sending off - check. Blind eye to foul in build up to their goal - check.
