  1. The new Bournemouth. They won't flop though, Wilder is a better manager than Parker and he got promoted.
  2. With the talk on here I was under the impression we didn't even have a few hundred grand.
  3. In 12 months that may be all you can afford.
  4. Sheffield United fans weren't convinced. https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/ben-davies.90557/
  5. I’d prefer to get £20m, get some decent players in and not go down/not almost go down. I don’t think BBD’s goals will be our saviour this year anyway. Van Hecke, Lenihan and Nyambe need replacing. If it’s true about being unable to compete with wages then we may as well prep for League 1.
  6. Well no one is arguing that Venkys can accomplish anything properly. Just that FFP doesn’t help.
  7. They need to sell him for the maximum amount and give the cash to JDT to rebuild the team.
  8. Can they take that £2m pitch and sell it on for 8 times more than they spent? Venkys see players as investments, and beyond that haven’t a clue about much else, it’s not difficult to see that. Im genuinely baffled why people can’t see how FFP affects transfers.
  9. They'll spend on players if they think they can get the same or more back. That, and selling academy players seems to be the way they think a club should be ran. So I imagine if they could spend on players, they would. The other things you mentioned won't have any chance of bringing the same return. The riches of returning to the PL seems completely lost on them and now because of FFP, is a moot point anyway.
  10. That's what I was saying in my previous posts.
  11. It's giving them a solid excuse. Put it this way I'd be surprised to see us spend £5 or £7m on a striker again. It'd be a shocker if they spent £1m.
  12. They've spent millions in the past, but I don't think the issue right now is spending millions of quid - a couple of hundred grand seems like a stretch for Rovers at the moment thanks to FFP. How the hell is a club supposed to attract fans back to the stadium if they can't invest in the product? We have the fit & proper rule to make sure that only the very worst owners take over football clubs, and FFP to make sure we stay where we fall.
  13. May as well close the fecking doors. Most clubs are just making up the numbers these days. The English leagues should govern themselves. F*** UEFA. Doesn't Brexit carry any benefits?
  14. FFP is nonsensical. We're going to stop you from spending money, in a business that relies on spending a shedload of money. And that way, because you can't spend money your club will progressively suffer from a lack of investment. We're protecting you from quickly destroying your club by slowly destroying your club. Platini may have been aquitted of fraud but he's still a World class dickhead.
  15. Didn't Preston want him a few months back?
  16. You'd think the Malmo links would be valid, I can't see JDT not wanting their best players.
  17. He played in one FA cup match and 11 minutes in the Premier League for Cardiff (who went on to be relegated). I've seen Celtic fans say he's shit but that sounds like sour grapes to me for him scoring against them in the CL. He only played four games for Celtic and scored two.
  18. Having an experienced 32 year old covering midfield, right back and up front isn't such a bad thing. Birmancevic is one I'm sure JDT will want, but will he be backed? Looks a very good player who hasn't hit his prime yet.
  19. He's more of a versatile winger than a striker. Has played up front. Looks a good player and bags of experience but he's 32 in September. Might be handy for a season or two if we can get him cheap.
  20. It’s a friendly, he’s lacking match sharpness. Those are two excuses we could attribute to Gallagher but we know we’d be kidding ourselves.
  21. Regarding the first match, sounds like Rovers had a lot of shots but couldn’t score. I wouldn’t be surprised if that carries on into the season if we don’t sign a few players.
  22. Skint or mismanaged on a business level? I'd say both.
  23. Which is why TM’s journey was so ludicrous.
