  1. And Van Hecke. Even if Brereton doesn't leave we need another option upfront as we saw last season, but yes we need 3 good defenders as first priority.
  2. From what I saw he wasn't that good, Wharton has always looked a very good player. In fairness he was playing against some good players and was better than Pickering, but HP was the worst player on the pitch. We definitely need two fullbacks.
  3. Wharton, Markanday and... JRC on 😩
  4. That chance of BBD's should have been a goal.
  5. It's not the quality that Celtic have that's the problem, it's the lack of quality we have. Getting beat in a friendly by Celtic was expected, it's the manner of it that's worrying. I'd sell Brereton while we can get a good fee and rebuild the team with the money.
  6. Pickering needs to come off.
  7. Pickering is standing out in a poor team. He's that bad. Mowbray paid a fee for him and waited half a season to get him in the team.
  8. This is a competitive game, and I know we're playing superior opposition but that's no excuse for sloppy play. Can't seem to string two passes together unless we're defending in which case we're trying to pass out of trouble, no pace, no movement. Need two fullbacks, a centre half, centre forward and a decent winger. Pretty much half a team then 🙄
  9. For a team that struggles to string 3 passes together and only has half a defence, we don't half tap it around at the back don't we.
  10. Could be quite easily 4-4-2, Gallagher and Vale as the two strikers.
  11. Right back stands out. Ayala needs replacing with a quality player. Van Hecke is going to be massively missed. Pickering isn't good enough at this level. Dolan isn't there yet. Gallagher is good for a handful of goals but not your main goalscorer and his overall contribution to a match is lacking. Brereton is going to be off.
  12. Brian Clough used to drive across the country, knock on the players door and tell them to sign a contract.
  13. The new Bournemouth. They won't flop though, Wilder is a better manager than Parker and he got promoted.
  14. With the talk on here I was under the impression we didn't even have a few hundred grand.
  15. In 12 months that may be all you can afford.
  16. Sheffield United fans weren't convinced. https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/ben-davies.90557/
  17. I’d prefer to get £20m, get some decent players in and not go down/not almost go down. I don’t think BBD’s goals will be our saviour this year anyway. Van Hecke, Lenihan and Nyambe need replacing. If it’s true about being unable to compete with wages then we may as well prep for League 1.
  18. Well no one is arguing that Venkys can accomplish anything properly. Just that FFP doesn’t help.
  19. They need to sell him for the maximum amount and give the cash to JDT to rebuild the team.
  20. Can they take that £2m pitch and sell it on for 8 times more than they spent? Venkys see players as investments, and beyond that haven’t a clue about much else, it’s not difficult to see that. Im genuinely baffled why people can’t see how FFP affects transfers.
  21. They'll spend on players if they think they can get the same or more back. That, and selling academy players seems to be the way they think a club should be ran. So I imagine if they could spend on players, they would. The other things you mentioned won't have any chance of bringing the same return. The riches of returning to the PL seems completely lost on them and now because of FFP, is a moot point anyway.
  22. That's what I was saying in my previous posts.
