  1. And he's a winger, not a striker. I'd be interested to know how many goals he'd scored from the wing for Tottenhams youth or under 23's team. Was he prolific?
  2. The same Mowbray that said he had three shortlists in terms of costs? He couldn’t bring in one striker? I can hear Victor Mildrew screaming his head off.
  3. Whoever told you he’s at Stoke on £3m+ wages is winding you up.
  4. And can someone tell him he’s a wide player who can’t score so TM will play him upfront.
  5. Anyone who thought Millwall had a decent game and they defended well must have been watching a different match. So one sided, gifted a point. They didn’t defend well, with better finishing they could have been battered.
  6. One things for sure, we won't sign a goalscorer.
  7. Fair enough, but all of those players have been trained as midfielders. Dolan's a midfielder too. Hedges has been played as a striker but is a winger. I think we've been kind of gaslit into believing some players are something they aren't. And I think TM and a lot of fans are expecting too much of a bunch of young lads who aren't goalscorers.
  8. The we don't play with "main strikers" is such a bizarre argument. If that's the case you buy midfielders who are good finishers. In January TM didn't sign either. If TM wanted to continue to play that way in the knowledge that BBD could be injured or on international duty, he should have brought in the correct personnel. I think that's a fair comment.
  9. We signed Markanday for £500,000 and Hedges for £200,000. Brown, Giles and Zeefuick won't be working for free.
  10. Any need for the behave pal? You can call a dog a cat if you want. It doesn't make it so.
  11. Brereton, but who are the other four forwards? We only have two (fit) at the club at the moment, as far as I'm aware.
  12. Watching the highlights. For JRC's effort why wasn't Gallagher running in and taking a chance of poking that in? If you watch it he stops running. Then he stands there head in hands at JRC's miss. If I was his manager I'd be saying why did you stop running you stupid bloody lump?! Earn your keep. That was the first offence. Second offence, missing a toe poke into the goal. And his reaction to that wasn't one of frustration, just "oh well." Third offence, the motherf**cker knocks the ball away from their goal when he's right next to it. Which striker in any league has the instinct to knock it back across goal when the gaping net is an inch from them, with goalie nowhere near them? That's what you get from spending £5m donkeys. You can't get rid, you have to play them, you have to re-sign them to save face and they waste valuable opportunies week after week. What an awful and uncommitted player he is. I'm more angry now than watching the game.
  13. I hate to heap more negativity on an already shitty night, but vultures will circle when that day comes. We'll be an asset stripping exercise, then admin. I can't see any other reason for someone taking on such a huge debt. That's why promotion would have been so important, it may have actually made competent people look at the club favourably.
  14. We keep playing midfielders up front, and a dosile lummox of a number 9 wide. Where did it all go wrong?
  15. People also forget that Markanday is another winger.
  16. I know but I meant neither of those goalscorers were going to be good for the run in, and it was known in advance. If you read the interview with Mowbray he didn't have his head screwed on right. He thought someone else would step up out of a squad of players that didn't have 15 goals between them.
  17. I used to enjoy 4-4-2, back when football managers didn't complicate the fuck out of the game. So so long ago.
  18. If that was true he wouldn't have got a new contract. There's no way he'd be still a Rovers player if his fee wasn't £5m.
  19. We couldn't sign a loanee, even though we signed several other players?
  20. Even with those, there's only two of them who has ever scored goals out of the lot of them. And for one reason or another we knew in advance we couldn't rely on either of them in a promotion push.
  21. Will any journalists bring up his refusal to sign a striker in Jan?
  22. No need to listen to TM's post match interview. It was all explained on 4th Feb. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19898505.tony-mowbray-explains-blackburn-rovers-didnt-sign-striker/
  23. Mowbray, another missed opportunity which falls entirely at your door.
  24. "I had Premier League teams ringing me up about big number 9's but we don't play that way"
