As someone else said, he had a reputation as a good coach before he came here. If I were a Hibs fan I'd be terrified especially if the owner was regarded as less then squeaky clean. For us the damage of those 3 seasons (ish) have so far proved irreparable on so many levels. There are some who like to pretend otherwise but that's because they can't face the truth. "We've found our level." Absolute bullshit. The truth is we were comfortable in the Premier League with decent crowds and the best "local" support in the country. Besides the league status we had a sensible chairman and board who were maintaining a reasonable level of debt - much envied by larger and lesser controlled clubs. True we were punching well above our weight but it was made possible by good people. Unfortunately some bad people saw an opportunity to take all that and feather their own nests, no matter the damage to the club. And they had the media in their pockets so the fans looked like the bad guys. Only a handful of people spoke up but they were drowned out by the poor wee Stevey headlines. At Ewood it was like some kind of dystopian nightmare. The crowd had turned angry but to Steve Kean it was like it wasn't happening, like he was in his own bubble. He'd stand there bold as brass with a smile on his face as Kean Out was richocheting from each stand. Bold as brass, defeat after defeat. There was no authority left to remove him. Stewards were actively provoking fans. Because of the anger directed at Steve Kean the club were under orders to treat us all like the enemy. They stopped people being able to bring banners into the ground. A female steward once randomly started arguing with me, I tried to ignore her but she was like a dog with a bone which caused fans behind me to come to by defence - this was during a game. A policeman walked over, I thought that's it I'm out. Instead he told the steward to come away or he'd remove her and to stop inciting the crowd. There was one match where young children were being searched entering the ground. I saw fighting between our own fans and was later told that people had been sent in to the crowd to confront people not supporting the manager (no idea if that's true but it certainly felt like that). Some of those fans will never come back after the way they were treated. We had debts of £20m when Venky's took over in 2010. In 2021 it's £140m. Thanks for everything Steve you wee gem.

Difficult to say… Imagine a lowly coach coming into your club, then not long later usurping an entire Premier League management team and the club board, the chairman and club secretary and is running the entire club on a contract he wrote himself which rewarded a pay rise for relegation. And running it into the ground to a point ten years later the club still hasn’t recovered.

Some delusional twonks on that site. They think it’s because he’s a shit manager and he called Allardyce a crook. No mention that his agent was acting beyond the board, then mysteriously Sam was sacked. Kean wasn’t even assistant manager but despite that Kean the coach with zero experience of football management “mysteriously” got the job. Then shortly afterwards our entire board and executive structure - one envied by other Premier League clubs, was gone. Then the bastards relegated us and the club has never recovered. It could be you Hibs fans!

Hibs, how quickly is he going to replace the manager? Why anyone would want that deceitful chancer at their club I don’t know. As good as putting a few drops of poison on the half time oranges.

January Transfer window 2022
booth replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It was in reference to other posters talking of guaranteed promotion with Dyche (including Longsiders). I'd swallow my pride for that, and it would be up to others to do that. How could I possibly know if all Rovers fans would be happy about it? I didn't even say I'd be happy about it. But it's all hypothetical and would never happen. And why Chaddy was trying to manufacture some kind of squabble by making sh** up, only he knows. -

Including a bizarre misunderstanding of something I wrote on the Premier League thread. Referring to Dyche hypothetically being Rovers manager, I wrote. "It's a case of swallowing your pride to save your club." (or words to that effect) Which Chaddy translated as... "All Rovers fans would be happy to have Dyche as Rovers manager." Still trying to work it out. Either someone's on the wind up or someone's been on the sauce. -

I agree it would be massively untrue if I’d made that point, but I didn’t. -

Is it not your club? By "saving" I mean it's not a bottomless pit, Venky's decision making is unfathomable and the debt is mounting year after year. If we could get a good manager in who could offset some of that debt with success then I don't care where he came from. -

Not really but stranger things have happened. It's the weakest this league has ever been since we've been in it. If Mowbray was ever going to do it it'd be this year. Obviously I'd prefer someone more capable in charge. -

I think that's fine. It's been addressed, there's an apology and they are clearly in agreement that it was inappropriate. The players in question could do worse than come forward and say it was a mistake, sorry if I contributed to the distress of such a heavy loss, etc. Disappointing if they don't now the club has acknowledged it. -
Get him back in the dugout! He's two years younger than Warnock.

If Jones came back I'd start to believe that good things can still happen at Rovers. An amazing player for us during a torrid time and his departure was part of the reason we went down. Would be fantastic if he could help get us back up. Be a bit like when Big Col came back from Manchester. -
Who wants to be a millionaire eh Steve?
-
Because according to some Mowbray isn't on much at Rovers 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
-
I don't care about him keeping us up, all I care about is getting the debt paid off making the club more desirable to new ownership. If the debt keeps mounting up and Venkys decide they are fed up with their "baby" then what then?

Wharton is a brilliant player. Not quite match fit perhaps today but will end up being our best defender.

Farke or Wilder could finish the job. -
But a lot of people act as if Mowbray has never been sacked before. I’m sure for most neutrals he’d be bottom of the pile.
