  1. Second half was the worst for a long time. We were abysmal. Buckley's effort was our ONLY attempt on target second half so don't knock the lad. Knock the rest of the loafers who didn't shoot on target. Why the hell has this dickhead of a manager not yet been sacked?
  2. Fuck off Wednesday Fuck off Mowbray
  3. I reckon Rovers will win 3-1. Mark my words.
  4. Saying it as it is. Harpers Golden Ale.
  5. Sheff Wed have been so so lucky. We have played them off the park and they get a lucky deflection for the goal. We will batter them in the second half. COYB
  6. I'd like Adam Reach to come to Rovers when Wednesday are relegated. Might lose this game to a Reach goal.
  7. The trouble with Venkys is that they still think the manager should run the whole club and not just the football side of it. They need to set up a proper structure, a structure that runs every aspect of the club in the correct way. Then they need to rely on that structure to advise them of the best manager to appoint and when to dismiss etc. Thirdly they need to realise that a club with no supporters will cease to exist. They need to have regular communication with the supporters, something that has been missing for several years.
  8. I'm not going to criticise his team selection yet. Let's see how they play first.
  9. Happy birthday Eamonn Rogers. 74 today. Played for Rovers 1965 t0 1971. 177 appearances. 39 goals. 19 caps for Rep of Ireland. 5 goals. You have to be good to play professional football but Eamonn was exceptional.
  10. He's come to us determined to beat Vince Grella's record.
  11. I think Sweetums will get the better of Shrek this time. 2-1
  12. I think he's playing centre attacking midfield for Shrewsbury. That's what it looks like to me. He doesn't always start though.
  13. The word "obtuse" always reminds me of "The Shawshank Redemption"; an important moment in the film.
  14. Sorry but this is like watching Mowbray football. I've finished.
  15. "Maturity issue?" Yeah. It's time Mowbray grew up.
  16. This for me. And I think a lot of other supporters feel the same.
  17. Mowbray had a good reputation when he came to us. the fans of Celtic, Boro, WBA and Coventry all said what a nice and honourable chap he is and that he will do ok for you up to a point. To keep that reputation he should have resigned before the international break IMO. By continuing bull-headed in his job, aggravating the annoyance of the fans is doing his reputation a heck of a lot of damage. If he gets a job with another club are we going to sing his praises? Are we bollocks!
  18. In the 50s Bill Eckersley took our pens; a fabulous taker. I think defenders like Mail, Faz and Eck are far better at it than forwards.
  19. Why does Armstrong continue taking penalties? Lenihan as captain should decide at the time. Surely we have a better pen taker than AA. I bet Kaminski could wallop one in the corner.
  20. That attendance would have been 11,450 if I had not been standing on the Blackburn End. Rovers were attacking the Darwen End. Dougie was playing at inside left and picked the ball up near the left touch line on the halfway line (in front of the Riverside). He went on a mazey run diagonally which brought him to the right side of their penalty area D. The WBA defenders expected him to pass the ball so were standing off him. All of a sudden he beat two defenders in the area and scored with a great shot. I think this was the game when I took my transistor radio onto the match to listen to the second half commentary. In those days BBC Radio used to invite us to tune in at 4pm to listen to the second half commentary of one of the first division matches. They never told us which one. That day they made a mistake and said it would be Rovers v WBA. Hence I took my tranny to the game.
  21. Bauer and McGinn took one look at Venkys-owned Rovers and thought, "No way am I going there!" McGinn must be very happy where he is.
  22. Cowleys are at Portsmouth, aren't they? Besides we are not a sensibly-run football club. Who is going to sack Mowbray? Hey? Hey? Who the f++k is going to sack him????????? Aaaarrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!
  23. Probably the canal then.
