    Pinning Topics

Soon after the site was re-organised messages would come up to say J*B has unpinned this topic. I've not seen it for a few days. Just wondered.
  2. What does "pinning" and "unpinning" a topic mean? It is usually done by J*B.
  3. I've said this before. It's no use sacking Mowbray. We need a club that is owned by people who understand the modern game, decide on a goal to achieve and a way to play to achieve that goal; similar to Southampton, Wolves, Swansea. Only then can you realistically decide on the staff at the club including the coaches and the manager. Changing our manager right now would probably be like leaping from frying pan to fire.
  4. And the Spurs players looked like they had different coloured shorts, or knickers as they were called in those days.
  5. I seem to remember when we chose Mike England as one of the two best central defenders ever for a Rovers team some youngster checked the Spurs best ever team to find that England was in that too. I must agree that he is the best I've ever seen at Rovers.
  6. In the Help section it says "popular questions asked in the past month". "There are no popular questions asked". When the site was upgraded perhaps there should have been a message to us all that, if we were having difficulty, we should go to the "Ask Questions" in the "Help" section. I'm not arguing or stirring it. I'm suggesting a better way of informing us.
  7. Thanks folks. My point is that this discussion should be in a separate help thread and not in Rovers v Canaries thread. Not your faults. There seems to be nowhere to get help of this nature other than on a football thread. Perhaps Admin/ Mods could advise.
  8. I'm not surprised. As a manager he has demonstrated hopeless ability.
  9. After the message board has been upgraded, and if there are differences that cause a lot of people trouble, why not explain in Forums; Help Zone. I note that in Help Zone there doesn't seem to have been much activity of late.
  10. Does anyone think our owners are capable of deciding a plan of action for the club (like e.g. Southampton, Wolves) and finding a manager to put that plan into action?
  11. Because the Irish lads play well together. And maybe Ayala is carrying a knock or a niggle.
  12. Going back to Jack Marshall, he wasn't a genius in moving Pickering to centre forward or turning Andy McEvoy into a prolific goal scorer. Both were purely accidental. Right full back Pickering got badly injured during a game. He could still move about but would be useless at full back. Having no substitutes in those days he was put up front for "nuisance value" and headed two goals. Probably in another (later) game, one of our inside forwards couldn't play through injury. McEvoy, the very mediocre wing half, was picked at inside right because there would have been nobody else. He was Mr Utility Man. The supporters, and probably McEvoy himself, were amazed how easy it was for him to slot the ball into the net time after time. So now we had by accident a prolific scoring centre forward who was tall, strong, could use both feet and could head a ball and a goal poacher slotting home the knock-downs. A fabulous combination that came together by luck and that was recognised by Jolly Jack Marshall.
  13. Jason Wilcox was the best crosser of a ball I've ever seen at Rovers. The only one we have at the moment is Harry Chapman.
  14. Was he? I didn't know that. No wonder he got the run-around by West Ham's Harry Hooper. 😁 Only he and Finney, of course, could trouble Bill.
  15. I have a season pass. I've just logged on and I think I'll be able to watch the game. So what is all the nonsense about audio only?
  16. Surely Williams cannot be match fit. I wouldn't expect him to play 90 minutes.
  17. What a superb player. Roy Wegerle. What a talent. One of my all time favourite Rovers players.
  18. I have been on quite a few other clubs supporters web sites and none of them are anywhere near as good and professional as this one. So thanks and well done to all. Thanks for telling me how to edit. I found out how to "like" a post by moving my cursor around someone else's "like". To the right of that, in the bottom right hand corner, the "like" symbol appears as if by magic.
