The last picture, taken from the Albion pub, must be the 1920s judging by the vehicle designs. Maybe Philipl can help identify. In the first picture, queuing for tickets, the man in the trilby hat and long overcoat walking away in the bottom left corner could easily have been my father. He used to look exactly like this. -

Now then...... I don't know what year it was (either 1963 or 64) we went to King George's Hall to watch Roy Orbison. The first half of the show we were entertained by several groups who were in the charts. Freddie and the Dreamers, Brian Poole and the Tremeloes, The Searchers and another two or three who I cannot remember. No sign of The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. We were rocking with these, being very noisy and thoroughly enjoying it. After the interval Roy Orbison was announced. The curtains drew back and there he was in the middle of the stage in front of a microphone wearing his dark glasses and holding a guitar. Two girls stood at another microphone to our left. There may have been another two at another microphone further left. And there were others from his backing group to our right all well spaced out. The whole theatre was in deathly silence. You could have heard a pin drop. Then he started. Wow! The sound that came from that stage was exactly like what we heard on the records. How they did it I don't know. And we were transfixed. In Dreams, Falling, Crying, Blue Bayou, Only the Lonely, Running Scared and Dream Baby. Believe me, it was well worth paying 8 and 6 to see such talent. Quite a lot at the time but still less than ten bob. Thanks for resurrecting the memories, Gav. -

I'll be bloody annoyed if our shirts finish up with a plain back like Bristol Rovers. I think that would be the last straw for me. -
Championship Season 2020 - 2021

That's one long list of possibles including many who are still employed at EFL clubs. Thank goodness our beloved Tony isn't on that list. We'd hate to lose him. -
Wasn't that down Pleasington?

Without taking away the neglect of our pitches and the shambolic running of the club, the reason for this postponement IMHO is not Rovers fault. The weather, the weather forecast, and the flood warnings are the genuine and good reason. If the River Darwen gets so full as to be nearly bursting its banks and the rain continues to fall (as forecasted) there is nowhere for the water on Ewood to drain to. This happened in Uncle Jack's days when the Wimbledon Crazy Gang did belly flops into the Ewood lake when the match was cancelled before KO.

If the Venkys can run successful poultry and pharmaceutical businesses why can't they ensure that a football club has competent people running it? -

Moggasaurus runs the club. Therefore a poor pitch is his fault. The buck stops with him. -

Then somebody needs to tell Kaminski to kick the f***ing ball into the opponents' half and stop piddling about with it in our own penalty area. -

For 75 minutes Stoke were set up in a proper formation. They played far better than us. Every player knew where his position was. I was screaming at Kaminski to punt the ball forward but he insisted on rolling it out to a marked defender. A lot of work needs doing in training at Rovers and we all know that it won't be done under TM. -

If we can never come from being 1 or 2 goals behind to win we don't deserve to make the top six. I think we'll win this about 2-0 By the way we aren't good enough for top 6 so stop dreaming. -

Mr Shoelaces you remember correctly. The bus was the 158 and it ran from Blackpool to Rochdale through Preston, along the old road to Blackburn and beyond to Rochdale. I used to travel regularly from Preston to Blackpool. There were 2 or 3 buses that did that trip. The 158 went via Weeton village whereas the 154 went via Wrea Green. Philip, congrats on your deep knowledge of the buses. -

What exactly is his injury and how did he get it? I seem to remember Kevin Gallacher saying it looks like he has stepped on something like a pitch water sprinkler. It was in an away game wasn't it? -
Blackburn v Doncaster, FA Cup, Sat 9th Jan

Travis was way off the pace of the game. I don't think he's fit. Perhaps that's why their scorer ran through midfield so easily. Still Dolan flatters to deceive. No end product. Brereton was greedy and ran into blind alleys. Armstrong and Dack were little boys lost. Davenport should have been given the whole game in midfield alongside Trybull and Downing. Douglas should have started at right back. I'm clutching at straws because we all know the real problem. -
Because they don't want to receive a record number of complaints. Or maybe they are just as pissed off with Mowbray as we are.

This. Over the past 3 seasons I cannot see a regular steady progression of all things at the club. We need a new manager and new backroom staff.

And you call yourself a Blackburn Rovers supporter? Have you never learned the lesson over many years? This will probably be another great win for Donny regardless of whatever team we put out. Anything different to that will be a bonus.😬 -
Your Best and worst rovers Memorabilia

That Frenzy is poor but not as bad as the By Gum..... and Come on......... which were embarrassing. Chelsea had a good one with "Blue is the colour", and Spurs had "Nice one Cyril" The best for me is the current version of "Wild Rover" which they play at Ewood.
