This for me. And I think a lot of other supporters feel the same.

Good or bad Friday depending on the result

Mowbray had a good reputation when he came to us. the fans of Celtic, Boro, WBA and Coventry all said what a nice and honourable chap he is and that he will do ok for you up to a point. To keep that reputation he should have resigned before the international break IMO. By continuing bull-headed in his job, aggravating the annoyance of the fans is doing his reputation a heck of a lot of damage. If he gets a job with another club are we going to sing his praises? Are we bollocks! -

That attendance would have been 11,450 if I had not been standing on the Blackburn End. Rovers were attacking the Darwen End. Dougie was playing at inside left and picked the ball up near the left touch line on the halfway line (in front of the Riverside). He went on a mazey run diagonally which brought him to the right side of their penalty area D. The WBA defenders expected him to pass the ball so were standing off him. All of a sudden he beat two defenders in the area and scored with a great shot. I think this was the game when I took my transistor radio onto the match to listen to the second half commentary. In those days BBC Radio used to invite us to tune in at 4pm to listen to the second half commentary of one of the first division matches. They never told us which one. That day they made a mistake and said it would be Rovers v WBA. Hence I took my tranny to the game. -

Bauer and McGinn took one look at Venkys-owned Rovers and thought, "No way am I going there!" McGinn must be very happy where he is. -
Cowleys are at Portsmouth, aren't they? Besides we are not a sensibly-run football club. Who is going to sack Mowbray? Hey? Hey? Who the f++k is going to sack him????????? Aaaarrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!

I wonder where that was taken. It could be a canal somewhere. It looks too wide for a canal. The River Stour in Constable country between Suffolk and Essex is like this. There must be lots of British rivers like this. -
Who do we pick as keeper? Poor Pope had nothing to do for the last two games. I'd have Pickford simply for his better footwork. But is Pope better for saves against the stronger sides? I really don't know.

Chris Sulley couldn't believe how many fans turned up. He said. :Why don't they come every week?" I was sitting next to a lovely oldish couple who lived in Devon, didn't follow football but originated in Blackburn. They had travelled up to London all that distance just to support the Rovers. Amazing. -
The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread
bazza replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think Nyambe and his agent are looking for him to leave Rovers in order to advance his career. He needs to join a club that will coach him better. I think that once he leaves Rovers we will see a faster development of his game and a much better player than he would have achieved staying here. If he goes to Man Utd he could be warming the bench forever. If he goes to (e.g.) Brentford or Norwich City, he could improve his game no end. -
No it doesn't. Blake's words are wishing England to be more christian than it was during his life. The "dark satanic mills" refer to Oxford and Cambridge universities where there were many atheists, agnostics, and non-christians. Anyway the current anthem is OK as long as people don't try to sing it. It has been admired by many foreigners as being a nice tune; short and sweet. It doesn't go on and on like e.g. Italy. Although I do like the Italian one. My favourite is Hungary. The old Soviet one was good too.

If that's true then God help the Buoys.

On a more optimistic note, I'm glad his condition has been found early and treatment has been carried out. It's better than collapsing and dying on a football pitch. As you say, good luck, Lewis.

Dougan and the 1960 Cup Final ....
bazza replied to sympatheticclaret's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
As I understand it he posted (in a post box) his transfer request on the day before the final or on the morning of the final. It was definitely before the game was played. The manager wouldn't have got it until Monday morning. No-one knew he wanted a move. So he hates the club and wants away yet declares himself fit to play when he obviously wasn't. Scum bag. -
I think the players and staff shouldn't sing the words. They should just stand to attention.
-
Right. That's it. I'm bored to tears. It's like watching Man Utd v Bamber Bridge. Boring, boring, boring. I'll go and clean up the kitchen.
-
Ex Man Utd people as managers don't seem to do well at PNE. Bobby Charlton and Nobby Stiles. We've had Johnny Carey, Brian Kidd and Paul Ince. Only Carey first time round did well for us.
-
Of course. How stupid of me.
-
If it was FMC in 1987 then it was the semi-final and Colin Hendry's first game for us.
-
Wow Chaddy. That's awful news. What a shame for the lad. I hope he can get sorted by the medics and whatever he has got can be controlled. Shame he has to give up playing football.
-
I think he was definitely a better keeper than Richie Smallwood.

I wondered who would be the first to remind me. CongratulationsTomphil! 😃
