On "granada tonight", they were discussing the merits, or otherwise, of playing the semi's at Cardiff. The male presenter [can't remember his name] said rovers fans would just go and enjoy the day, but United's fans had to take into account the prospect of two visits and the subsequent cost!
-
The FA must be realising that four clubs into one city doesn't go. I don't remember the need for this delay and a meeting of the four clubs concerned, when the semi's were played in different places.
-
A bit sad to bring this back up, but Rovers next four games - Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U, Arsenal. Rangers - Motherwell, Motherwell, Dundee Utd, Dunfermline. Big games in Scotland my arse

Lee, all I'm saying is that rovers should know the train times the supporters will be bound to, in the event of a lunch time kick off. They should take that into consideration, that's all. Can't they bring this forward at Thursday's meeting? It wont bother me in the skightest, whatever time kick off is. We're booked in Cardiff for Friday and Saturday nights.

Im afraid that you would be very much in a minority Jan. For those of us who wont use Rovers Transport and prefer to make our own way there there is the grand total of 1 (ONE) train from Blackburn that is due to arrive in Cardiff prior to kick off. That train also goes round the house. Blackburn 0700 to Bolton Bolton 0804 to Manc Picc Manc Picc to Cardiff Central - arrives 1151. Yes, a whole NINE Minutes before Kick off. I shall post my correspondence on here when it is composed. Stu, you should email the club before they meet on Thursday.

Do keep up. I posted the same report from Sporting Life a hour ago Sorry SAR. I'll pay more attention in future.

Quotes from the FA, saying the ties will be played at Cardiff and no decision will be made about times until after Newcastle's game in europe. Teamtalk

and we have a chance of winning our THIRD MAJOR TROPHY in 10 years.

I think you'll find that throughout the late 60s/70s/80s, in fact throughout almost the entire history of our two clubs, Burnley have trailed on all accounts. Having said that, I wouldn't like to fall out with C.C, she's one of the better Burnley fans that are brave enough to come on here and face the unwarranted abuse.

Break it gently? I'd have to tell her with a tin hat on [on me]. What do you intend to do about sleep? You know how to treat your woman well. BTW, thanks for the invite, but at the moment, we're booked in a hotel in Cardiff on the Friday and Saturday nights. Paul's dog sitting for me.

We do it over here at concerts and sporting events all of the time. Harder to reach you to be pushed over. If anything, standing in front of a seat is safer, as it stops the "crowd push" that you see happen. The only instances of crowd injuries/deaths over here that I know of were because of "festival" standing, i.e. no seats to stand in front of. Heck, you can be hit by a scoreboard beam, but they haven't banned those (yet). I've been pushed from behind into the front seats - believe me, it hurts. "Heck, you can be hit by a scoreboard beam, but they haven't banned those (yet)." You've got a great memory. You knew it was me below that? -

Apparently Leicester have signed Aston Villas' Stefan Moore on loan and he could play against Rovers Link -

Forgive me for not reading the entire post Amanda, but just to take you up on one, but important point. You say standing in front of a seat is not dangerous. If you've ever been pushed from behind, while standing up, you will know that it's VERY dangerous. You don't have time to move your feet, so you fall over the front seat. How or where you land is purely down to luck. One thing for sure, you can easily break a leg - or worse. The debate about standing areas is a valid one [although I wouldn't want that], but you're misguided about the standing in front of the seats argument. -
Thanks Colin and Barry. A lot of work gone into that and it's appreciated. Well done guys.

Good post Jim. I did start a new topic a while ago about the way the focus of the top English sides has changed over recent years. I don't think anyone took in what I was really trying to say [my fault]. I was trying to stress how the top clubs now, are more than willing to see the demise of all the other premiership sides. Chelsea would be more than happy to see Arsenal, Man U, Blackburn, or any other club go to the wall, in order to enhance their chances of competing regularly in the Champions league. They aren't interested in any other competition. The same goes for Arsenal and Man U. It wasn't always like that, but it is now. I am pretty certain, the only reason they play in the Prem, is to gain access to Europe. Otherwise they'd be off. That's partly why, I find it difficult to support those English sides when they do play in the C.L.
