  1. A couple of points. The trustees don't have any money in the rovers. The trustees must execute Jack Walkers wishes. They might come to the conclusion that to sell the club to a "sugar daddy" is the best option for both, but as someone said earlier [Dave Birch I think], If it's against the trusts obligations, then presumably the beneficiaries would have some grounds for appeal. Anyway, I'm not certain about that and I don't think anyone else is. The ISA is the idea of the fans, not the club. The club were asked if it would recognise the ISA and it agreed to do so. The club did not go out and instigate that idea.
  2. No. It was because of the crap home performances. I could see it coming.
  3. The key change there, is David Brown joining the board. Whereas some people have wanted the Walker family to sever their ties with the club, this actually cements them. Good it is, too.
  4. No, I'm not sure Jim. You could well be right.
  5. Sausagemandog, take a look Here That might have some answers for you.
  6. Cletus, we're ready with far more than flyers. If you are genuinely interested what's going on, contact admin. This may sound a bit evasive, continually referring people to admin, but we are really keen for people to help out. Now is the best time to pitch in. Your views will be welcomed and I'm sure people already on there, will testify to that. This forum isn't the right place to be discussing details. The BRISA must be independent of this site.
  7. I've only been to West Ham once. 1963/64ish, we drew 3-3 in the F.A.cup. John Byrom hat trick, against the great Bobby Moore on his own middin'. Absolutely fantastic day. Talk about away crowds, I spent the entire second half with my arm over my mates shoulder. Couldn't get it down due to the packed away end. BTW, West Ham fans were right b******* in those days. Loads of aggro from them attacking rovers fans with baseball bats and anything they could get their hands on, pre match. Beat 'em 4-1 in the replay - McEvoy hat trick, [against the great Bobby Moore]!
  8. Wigan away new years eve? Not often we play on new years eve is it?
  9. Remember folks - please don't post the full fixture list. We may have to delete it.. Sorry.
  10. He said nobenders [preston], not notlob.
  11. So 1864, if north end are away first match and they kick off a week before us, then we will be away first match as well - by your logic?
  12. FLB and anyone else, if you're looking for discussion on the ins and outs of an ISA, you wont find it on here [in any detail anyway]. What we want is for everyone who thinks they might be interested, to contact admin, who will put you onto a site where you can read all the discussions that have taken and are taking, place now. There is a lot on there. Much more detail than you probably imagine.
  13. Glenn - When you look in the match day programmes at the supporters association section there are around nine branches, North lancs, South Lancs, London etc. Are these supporters club branches still in existence but now classed as independant rather than being BRFC based? 325549[/snapback] Some weeks ago (just before the ST packs were sent out) we were told the official supporters association branches had now been informed that the club is no longer providing official supporters associations and was replacing them with a membership scheme (available free to all ST holder). However, we've recently learnt it's possible that not all the branches have been informed (or at least that not all their members know yet). This could mean the club intends them to carry on as before or it could just be the club hasn't informed them. It has always been our hope that the ISA could encompass the existing SA branches and allow them to continue exactly as before (and hopefully we'll prove to be more useful to them than the club was). Hope that's accuarte (I wasn't involved with the correspondance with the club over this) and answers your question. 325558[/snapback] That's pretty much right Glenn. The club informed us [bRISA], that the OSA had been dissolved. The timing of BRISA going public was appropriate for some of the branches who have been serviced by the supporters association. As you said, it appears as though some of the members, of at least some of the branches, haven't been informed.
  14. Where does that leave people like me, who disagree with the politics, but accept a lot [well some] of your views on footy?
  15. Andy, if you're really interested, then contact admin. From there, you will be able to put any/all of your points across. We are wary of using this m/b, for the reasons that you brought up - as far as the people already involved, they want this to be a completely democratic ISA, with no ties to this site. Some people on the original list of names might stand for positions on a committee, some wont stand for any post. It isn't being done for personal gain or fame. As for Theno, he's more than welcome to stand for election, as is anyone. He's an intelligent guy, but I wouldn't put too much money on him standing or contributing. I could be wrong though.
  16. Looking at that list of names, i understand these intentions, you guys all seem to be a tight knit group who enjoy ripping the p*ss out of theno and a couple of others. I would certainly not be interested until i felt that the group was slightly more representative of Rovers fans 325433[/snapback] What would you need, to be assured of that Andy?
  17. Do you want brfcs members to start to spread the word now, or leave it to you so you have times to ensure all is right with your website etc. i.e use brfcs members to test run things before you start to spread the word? 325312[/snapback] What we want, is for anyone at all, who thinks they would like to become involved with the formation of an Independent supporters association to contact admin. From there, there is much more information available. It costs nothing to take a look. It is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
  18. Rovers fans in Portugal inform us that Benni McCarthy wants to leave Porto and his preferred club is Blackburn Rovers. Porto are standing firm on their asking price of £6m, whereas rovers are believed to have offered a down payment of far less than that. Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news, on the fans messageboard brfcs.co.uk
  19. ps, My mate Dave's Uncle Lionel and Auntie May, wont be renewing their season tickets this year. Mind you, he's 93 and she's 89. True story.
  20. Pure quality Billy. 58 years a supporter, beat that guys. Were we losing 7-0 at Ewood?
