Dave Whelan said a few weeks ago, that he expected Wigan to average around 18000. I wonder how the away fans segregation works? If they have to give the away fans all of the stand behind the goals, then 18000 would be a good estimate.

and not very quick.

Sounds like you've got a closed mind on this one Flops.
-
Fair enough Flopsy, but if he didn't recognise them as policemen, how can anyone say he should have stopped? and no, I'm not blaming the police. Until all the evidence is put in front of an enquiry, then how can anyone apportion blame?
-
OK, just listening to ITV news, the police who confronted him were in casual, plain clothes. The Brazilian lad had been attacked a week before, at virtually the same place by a group of casually dressed white lads. That may answer a few questions about why he didn't stop, when ordered to.
-
I don't know the details of this, but were the police in uniform? If they weren't, could it be that the Brazilian lad was frightened by the fact that someone unknown, had pulled a gun on him?
-
and unfortunately, incidents like this, further play into the terrorists hands.

I thought the batting today, was irresponsible, to say the least. Surely the aim had to be survival at all cost. With the weather as it was and a poor forecast for tomorrow, to surrender as feebly as we did, was a flashback to the bad old days of the last decade and beyond. This England side has a lot going for it - young, and with no small amount of talent. They must learn from this and learn fast.

Didn't answer the question though. You seemed upset that some people thought Bellamy was better than McCarthy. Saying "at least he is an out and out centre forward" doesn't mean much. Ashley Ward was "reputedly" an out and out centre forward. -
It really is sad to read all the same old posters, making all the same old points over and over again. Not only on this topic, but other topics as well. Taking some of the points in isolation, there are reasonable discussions to be had, no doubt about that. When the same points are pushed consistently and regularly, it makes for distasteful and unsettling reading for some people, of that I'm confident. As for moderating this topic, there isn't an easy solution IMO. [Well, there is - just close the topic]. that doesn't really go with the spirit of the site though. I also think some people are intent on pushing things to the limit, knowing exactly what they're doing. That's my personal opinion. Don't be surprised to see the topic closed though. Please refrain from personal insults.

I take it you are sure McCarthy is a better bet for Rovers. Why? How can you be sure McCarthy will adapt to the English game? -

I wouldn't expect 20 goals a season out of Bellamy, but what I will expect is that he will make the team a better team. He's a very intelligent player - makes space and leaves gaps for others to benefit from. He has a great first touch and is an excellent passer - something we haven't had up front for a long time. A superb signing who will put his foot on the ball and improve the side tremendously. -

Just to add again to the debate. For sure, BRISA will be up and running shortly into the new season. Some of us have already taken part in meetings between ourselves and the club. There are more meetings planned - one of them tomorrow night [between ourselves, not the club]. Everyone who would like to help us get up and running and to become practically involved - please contact admin at the email address previously given. We do need help, there is a lot to do. In fact anyone who does contact admin will be welcome to attend that meeting, and any other meeting from then on. Details can be seen on the forum that will become visible to you. Finally, to stress - the only reason not to open everything up to all members on here, is the fact that we really don't want this to be seen as a messageboard based initiative. If we did that, it could be seen by people as being a BRFCS.com organisation. It wont be. -

Are winning Scottish trophies "meaningful trophies"? I could argue absolutely not. -

Yes I realise we could move. I'm just pointing out the prices that a new ST holder has to pay, if they want to sit in the JW upper - never mind the people, who haven't got loyalty discount, have to find to renew. She is one who wont be renewing.. -

Jack Walker upper central. £61/month on direct debit. Those prices are hardly encouraging to first timers are they? -

For my wife to renew, it would have cost her £570. -

Not much apart from giving us some real good days down at Ewood and continue with the positive approach to the fans and importantly - to the players. All the negativity of the past few seasons must have had an effect on them and their performances on the pitch. -

Thenodrog told us not long ago, that only 7000 had been sold. This could be the reason for all the upbeat talk recently.
