  1. We are looking for the biggest single contributing factor for the decline in attendances over the last 2 or three seasons.
  2. The right product at the right price = maximum gates. Any other variable = falling gates. Not an easy one for rovers to get right, but it's the only formula likely to succeed.
  3. Anyone else notice that the Fulham goal was offside?
  4. Just looking on the positive side of the attendance, it should be one of, if not THE, lowest attendance of the season, for a variety of reasons. The trend is very worrying though, but unless things improve on the pitch there is very little JW can do about it. Kids must be encouraged to come along though. Maybe an ISA can talk to the club about this.
  5. They were crap. I just said that diddle I?
  6. Take away absolutely superb strikes and the performance was ok - no more than that. Fulham were woeful and that should be kept in mind. There wont be many worse sides at Ewood this season. Worrying thing for me was that the first home game of the season and a couple of injuries and a couple of suspensions and we were down to the bare bones. A glimpse at the bench showed that. We might have a "big" squad, including all the professionals at the club, but there isn't an abundance of quality available outside the first 15 players. I've got to agree with 1864, I didn't think Kuqi looked up to prem standard, but I'll give him more time. He certainly plays with a big heart. Looking on the positive side - Lucas was superb today, let's hope he can perform week in, week out. Nelsen makes a huge difference to our discipline. A 17000 gate should send a message to the directors. Rovers must take the extra steps before the transfer window closes. Another season like last and £2-3m spent wisely now, might be the best money they've spent in a long time. Overall though, very pleased. 10/10 for effort.
  7. Seens to me like you've changed tack there, Vinjay. I'm sure you were arguing all this while that the walkers should put more money in. Now you say they should sell the club. Totally different argument.
  8. Looking forward to the new season now!
  9. That Trelleborg didn't go down too well. Gave me really bad indigestion.
  10. At the moment, you could give tickets and no-one would want them. For many people, not all, price is and always has been an excuse. It's all down to entertainment on the pitch.
  11. Ryan Nelsen has declared himself fit for this game, according to the official site.
  12. Bellamy needs scan on thigh
  13. and what about thommo. Last I heard he was seeing a specialist about his knee injury.
  14. Out till the day after tomorrow?
  15. Which particular lie was that?
  16. They never did tolerate being lied to Phil. Once all the facts are out, they'll make their mind up. Not yet.
  17. I think you might be making assumptions without knowing the facts. Would rovers stewards be authorised to look after school outings? Edit: although I do agree with the principle of getting school kids down there. I'm not sure about the practical side though.
  18. I believe that to do this, the kids need to be supervised by the school teachers. Understandably, many of them are unwilling to give up their own time to take this on.
  19. As soon as possible.
  20. Ponting is looking for players who can stick with him. Gillespie "looked" like the man for that.
  21. 264/7
  22. C'mon!!!!!! 6 down.
  23. Got back at 10 O'Clock last night after a great day. Prices were a bit heavy though, £3 for a pint and £3:50 for a burger. It all adds up to an expensive day out. Saw another piece of history to tell my grandkids about. 600 test wickets for a fantastic bowler. He got a great reception from the fans - just shows that for all the cameraderie, we English know when we see something extra special. As for the game, I thought at the start that 450 minimum was required to give England a good chance. Still think the same, - BUT, a change in the conditions might have the Aussies struggling to match a lower total.
  24. Ryan Nelsen: "I went into a tackle and came out second best," Nelsen said. "It got a bit of a bone bruise and jarring in my knee. But it's not serious. I just had to keep off it for a couple of weeks." He rates his chances of playing in this one, as 50/50. Stuff.co.nz
  25. I don't know if they still do this, but be aware of the bars closing for a couple of hours. They used to do that if [when] the crowd got over exuberant. The museum is interesting as well. It used to be free.
