  1. Well Waggy - he dropped him.
  2. Don't usually disagree with you Philip but - Heads dropping? I thought rovers were the better team from first kick to the last. Pretty well backed up by Moyes' comments that he was hoping for a third goal, because he feared Everton weren't safe. 4-4-1-1? Hughes said on Radio Rovers pre-match that Bentley was playing as a striker. Todd continuing what crap form? You might have to explain that one to me. Finally, what was that 2 mins extra time all about? I might be wrong but rovers brought on 2 subs and Everton brought on 3 subs. Add injury time plus the fact that Lucas was pointing out to Halsey for all of the second half, the amount of time the 'keeper was taking to take his goal kicks. Lucas just stood there, sideways on to the play, gesturing to Halsey to tell the 'keeper to get a move on. Halsey did nothing. Finally, he blew the whistle for full time, just seconds after the 2 mins sign had gone up. I reckon Hughes and Neill Yardley have it right when they say Halsey doesn't like us.
  3. You mean the Burnley replay?
  4. Everton have confirmed that they have had talks with Roy Keane.
  5. That's the one. At the time, I always thought Ewood was a big ground. I suppose it was - compared to a lot of others. The truth is that today's Ewood is twice the size, so trying to imagine 56000 or even the record 62000 crammed into such a small place is mind boggling.
  6. How's ticket sales going Lee?
  7. Can't imagine what Ewood was like with 56000 in. 40000 is the most I've experienced and you couldn't move at that.
  8. Tim Cahill picked up a three match ban and misses the rovers game.
  9. Nah, we'll have Doncaster in the final
  10. F.T. 2-3! Brilliant.
  11. 2-3 Bentley!
  12. Jemal Johnson has arrived back at Ewood after failing to hold down a first team spot at Preston. Jemals' 20 now and I reckon if he was going to make it at Prem level, he should be making the odd appearance in the first team by now. Strikers do tend to make the grade by his age. It's a position where natural ability comes through earlier than other positions.

    George Best R.I.P.

Interesting. I remember at the time of Finney and Douglas, that many rovers fans thought Duggie was the better player. What about some of the other old timers on here - was Duggie better than Best?
  14. Yes, but let's keep the personal bits on the other forum. den [uLCI technical drawing 1963].
  15. Back on topic please chaps. Ferguson, Rangers etc!
  16. Very interesting.
  17. I take that as a no then, - you don't see any similarity?
  18. Strange you should say that, Theno. Now some people will laugh at this, but Baz said to me during the second half that Savage is very similar to Sherwood, in the style of play. Plays the ball simple and is very effective in what he does. I can see the similarity as well. Savage was the main reason why Arsenal never put rovers under any constant pressure and never dominated midfield.
  19. We've also played Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool away. Good to get those out of the way.
  20. 4 clubs have conceded more goals Philip. - 16 teams have played less games. 1 Chelsea 13 11 1 1 31 7 24 34 2 Arsenal 13 8 2 3 22 10 12 26 3 Wigan Athletic 13 8 1 4 16 10 6 25 4 Manchester United 12 7 3 2 19 12 7 24 5 Tottenham Hotspur 14 6 6 2 16 10 6 24 6 Bolton Wanderers 12 7 2 3 14 11 3 23 7 Liverpool 12 6 4 2 13 8 5 22 8 Manchester City 14 6 3 5 15 12 3 21 9 West Ham United 12 5 4 3 16 11 5 19 10 Charlton Athletic 13 6 1 6 17 18 -1 19 11 Middlesbrough 13 5 3 5 18 18 0 18 12 Newcastle United 13 5 3 5 12 13 -1 18 13 Blackburn Rovers 14 5 3 6 15 18 -3 18 14 Aston Villa 14 4 3 7 14 22 -8 15 15 Fulham 13 3 3 7 14 19 -5 12 16 West Bromwich Albion 13 3 2 8 13 22 -9 11 17 Portsmouth 13 2 4 7 11 18 -7 10 18 Everton 12 3 1 8 4 16 -12 10 19 Birmingham City 13 2 3 8 8 17 -9 9 20 Sunderland 14 1 2 11 12 28 -16 5
  21. It was better than huff and puff. It was quality passing football that Arsenal had, for most of the game, no answer to.

I find it difficult to be as hard as that. We all know the history, but whatever, he was a human being. There have been a lot worse people lived on this planet than George Best.
