  1. Well, we’ll, well. One over to go, 10 needed. Oz can’t miss out again can they?
  2. As for Brereton, I can’t believe he’s still being “assessed” on here. Hes not a footballer, he’s just technically not good enough - that’s been obvious to me from just a few games watching him. I know there’s a call for him to play up front down the middle, but honestly I’ve seen a hell of a lot of centre forwards in my time watching rovers but I can’t think of very many, if any with fewer credentials to play centre forward than Ben has.
  3. There’s not a player capable of Playing the front man in the squad. It will cost us. The arrow is blunt.
  4. Should win now. Crazy from Oz.
  5. Need wickets, build pressure. Easy said.
  6. Archer now regularly bowling 90+ and looking so much more the bowler I always thought he should be. At this pace he’s one of the best in the world. Quite terrifying.
  7. Must be on my own then, but I reckon we’ve had better teams in the third division,
  8. What a player Butller is. Has he got any weakness?
  9. Second fastest to 600 wickets in balls bowled.
  10. Can someone tell me who is the striker who will play the hold up roll please, because I personally don’t see one.
  11. Thanks Matt, I’ve now read that somewhere else.
  12. Anyone know the cause of death? 69 doesn’t seem that old nowadays.
  13. Saw him play in the reserves on the right wing before he made his first team debut. He was referred to as the next Bryan Douglas at the time. RIP Stuart, you were superb. All my heroes are leaving.
  14. Bloody hard watching Granada news tonight. Lucy did brilliantly well.
  15. Roger Federer opening the bowling for England.
  16. ASAP Tyrone, but it should be clear to everyone that these two haven’t worked out and they won’t work out here.
  17. Becomes more obvious by the day. Gallagher and Brereton have to be moved on. There’s nothing for them here. It doesn’t work.
  18. Rothwell hasn’t had the edge taken off, he’s just never really had it. Yes he has ability but hasn’t yet applied it with any consistency and that’s no good to anyone.
  19. He’s the same as any other player tomphil. They have a job to do and a function within the team to fulfill in order to benefit the whole team. If he can’t do that he won’t ever advance himself in the game. That’s what’s happening.
  20. £12m spent on two championship strikers. You really would expect them to make a difference. according to Wiki.... Gallagher 76 appearances 15 goals. Brereton 35 appearances 1 goal. So that’s £12m, 111 appearances 16 goals. you could get two free signings for that and more goals.
  21. We had a fly stay holiday cancelled by jet2 and they gave us the option of getting our money back, which they have to do legally, which we took and got our money back. Can you not do that then book again? we also had flights cancelled by Ryanair which we were going to claim our money back for, but the villa we had booked to go with it pointed out that the airlines must offer you alternative flights. We rebooked with no extra cost.
  22. A guy called Chester was just asked on the chase which city in Scotland Dundonians come from. He said Cardiff ?
  23. I remember Fryatts goal in that Man City game - a typical powerful header, but the thing I remember most was entering the riverside through the centre turnstile to be met with a solid wall of fans. Just to get properly into the stand was a battle. Just try imagining the old Ewood Park with 43,000 people crammed into there. As for Jim, he was as far removed from the modern footballer as could be. He carried the reputation for his heading ability before him. I think it’s fair to say that was probably 90% of his game, he was a cult figure at that time simply for that ability. I would compare his style with that of the black prince at PNE, Alex Dawson who also possessed tremendous heading power with little else to go with it. Very, very effective though.
