  1. Fabulous words from Pele (attempt two) https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12027/11635417/pele-recounts-gordon-banks-1970-world-cup-save-in-moving-tribute
  2. Sorry Biz, can’t go along with much of that. Bottom line is that he hasn’t shown us a thing. Nothing. Zilch. That’s nothing to do with how he’s being used. is your desperation to defend him blinding you to that fact?
  3. This one Chaddy?
  4. Passed away aged 81.
  5. Burns gone first ball!
  6. Not read all the thread, but just one general point..... The club can’t and won’t move forwards by trying to attract lapsed fans to come back to watch championship football. They might attract some fans back for Premier League football, but once fans stop attending regularly, generally speaking they don’t return. There’s only one way to increase the fan base and that’s by attracting youngsters to Ewood for Prem football. Then you have a lot of them for life. I applaud any attempts to attract people down to Ewood though, but know you’re audience.
  7. Might make the trip to have a look at it sometime.
  8. As good as Shearer. Who am I to doubt Bryan Douglas.
  9. I was meaning from that forward line of Ferguson, McEvoy, Pickering, Douglas and Harrison Tyrone.
  10. My favourite shirt as well. well favourite kit actually. Didn’t someone say they loved those socks?
  11. Couldn’t resist.
  12. 300 is a long way off. Pitch is still doing things, need a few more off these two yet. 250-270?
  13. He struck terror into the centre halves didn’t he 47er. He would knock anyone out of his way to get to that ball. Tough guy as well. Remember him stood over a floored Tony Singleton of PNE on the half way line at Ewood throwing punches at the guy as he was on the ground - in a friendly.
  14. Can’t believe they brought him back. At the moment he’s just too easy to get out. What now?
  15. Can’t believe it. Another part of me dies. That just leaves Duggie and Mike Ferguson. RIP Fred. One of the best we’ve had, only bettered by Shearer in my lifetime.
  16. Jennings gone again. Same shot, same result.
  17. and Bob Willis said his England days were over. Got to say, I have to wonder why.
  18. I don’t ask too much of the owners, just that they put us back to where we were when they bought the club. I would settle for that. Can they do that? Yes they can.
  19. Ambitious managers don’t have “long term plans”. They want and demand it from day one. Whether they get it is another matter. For me, long term plans is just an excuse for the present. In other words long term plans shouldn’t be the plan and I’m aware of any manager who thinks along those lines. Players are asked to look no further than the next game and a manager really should focus the same way. Do that and the future will sort itself out. Ignore the present for the future and you’re in trouble.
  20. Root out to a ball rearing off a length. England will be lucky to get to 100 here. 34/3
  21. To be fair this is a wicket made for the windies quickies.
  22. That would be it renrag. Both Lorimer and Mike Harrison could hit a blag tremendously hard.
  23. Well that’s probably as good as it gets nowadays 47er. ?
  24. Jennings has a lot of work to do on his technique. For a quickie at the moment he’s easy meat. Shame - and he’s by no means the first left handed opener to have this problem - because he does look a classy player at times.
  25. With the inside of his foot. Amazing. Im sure I remember him entering a competition to find the player with the hardest shot in the country, but that’s about all. Anyone else remember that?
