  1. Just in case anyone missed it, this is Messi’s 600th goal for Barcelona. “Special” doesn’t do it justice.
  2. Dack needs to reassess what he’s trying to do on a football field IMO. He’s not finding the spaces he did previously and the best way to do that is to get back to the simple midfielders game of get yourself into a space, recieve the ball and lay it off early. Even Messi does that probably more often than we think. Do that for 90% of the game and defenders will give you the room. The first thing that seems to be in his mind is to turn and run with the ball, but if that’s what you’re going to base your game around then defenders will find it easier. save the dribbling and running at people until there’s really something opening up in front of you. Don’t be so stereotyped in your play.
  3. Didn’t see any more from Brereton on Saturday than I did the first time I saw him. I just don’t understand what people see in him.
  4. Went to an ashes test at Edgebaston a couple of years ago. Beautiful ground IMO.
  5. I agree Matty. There’s no continuity of the stands and the point and other red stands look like they were brought in from another ground somewhere. I’m not a fan of overhanging two tier stands either - who wants to sit in darkness all day long? Not to mention the monstrosity that is the temporary stand. I find a lack of atmosphere at Old Trafford nowadays.
  6. Over £2m profit for Lancs despite not having a test match. Got to wonder what they’ll do with it. https://cricket.lancashirecricket.co.uk/news/2019-news/lancashire-cricket-club-maintain-growth-in-operating-profits/
  7. Alan Shearer should know that just because the ball touches an arm, doesn’t mean it’s illegal.
  8. Don’t need to add anything to what’s already been said. Well done everybody. From a different angle - what exactly did hiding the Derby fans in the upper tier achieve? For me, nothing. It detracted from the atmosphere and the game. What’s the point in that?
  9. Yes Parson, a player who lasted in the memory. He could be the match winner. Like most, I too remember the screamer he scored at Deepdale. A classy midfielder, a popular player. Very sad to hear this news.
  10. Sad to hear Barrie Hole passed away aged 76. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/sadness-barrie-hole-former-cardiff-16055090
  11. They’re not all dead are they? ?
  12. What a good footballer Danny Graham is. Sorry Rev, but he certainly has a touch of class about him. Comfortable at at the end but for quite a while both teams looked dearth of confidence. No complaints tonight, but it certainly helped us a lot playing against a Wigan side that had no resemblance to the Wigan sides of the last few seasons.
  13. Seems to me that Mowbray has simply failed to move the playing squad forwards in any way whatsoever since promotion. Given the financial backing he’s had and the size of the club relative to the league we are playing in - that really isn’t good enough. Next season is already a worry because of our two best players Graham will be another year older and Dack might not be here. There is a lot of truth in the saying that if you stop going forwards as a club, you go backwards. Would any of you guys want to start next season with Mowbray in charge? Given how bad things are results wise, how he’s reverted to humiliating players in public I would say move on.
  14. At a time when violence at football grounds seems to be declining, north end do seem to have a minority of pretty nasty fans. They’ve been around for a few seasons now. They never used to have - or I don’t remember them having this problem. Its something the club itself should be looking at and taking responsibility for.
  15. I’m not happy, no. Just wish we’d beat this lot anyway at all. It’s embarrassing how easy it is to score against us.
  16. Told you, no pace. williams had a stinker at Deepdale and here he is again.
  17. No way we’ll keep a clean sheet. One of the worst defences ever to turn out for us - anywhere.
  18. When the teams announced and fans can’t work out what the formations going to be, it’s a sign of a struggling side. Not that we didn’t know that anyway. however, it’s bloody PNE and I’m not sure Mowbray gets it.
  19. They’ll do us for our lack of pace at the back.
  20. That’s a disappointing team. No pace anywhere.
  21. Anyway, seeing we’re in the match thread, I’ve not seen the game but I’ve seen the goals. I know it’s been said by others, but the defending for the first goal in particular was beyond poor, it was embarrassingly pathetic. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like that from a rovers side. While Mowbray really shouldn’t name individuals it’s understandable how angry he would have been. If an entire defence just stands there and allows a cross from a throw in to go completely unchallenged he has every right to completely lambast the lot of them. Let’s just hope that there is a positive reaction from every single player on Sunday.
  22. ? to be fair I also remember some magazines - not all - from many, many years ago saying rovers played in blue and white quarters. The photos above surely show which is a halved shirt and which is a quartered shirt - assuming you don’t open them up and roll them out. Doesnt really matter does it, apart from the fact we play in blue and white halves now does it ?
