  1. His only good game in the last 2 years. Tells its own story about his attitude.
  2. If he was any good Wigan wouldn't have sold him a couple of months after signing him. The Oldham manager criticized him a number of times that season. Coyle signed Byrne. Lowe wasn't right back that campaign.
  3. It isn't daft at all. Many organisations are weighed down by bloated management structures. The threadbare way we were being run was not the ideal model, but neither is a model where there are too many executives involved. I can't see that happening here with Venkys anyway
  4. Is he? He has flopped from club to club since leaving here and was relegated from League 1 last season. Even Jason Lowe is playing in the Championship
  5. I have literally no idea. He has a bit of a mouth on him, so maybe that was it. Nothing to do with football ability anyway
  6. Definitely. We need the permanent signing of a striker and a winger. If we supplemented the defence and even the wings with loans then I wouldn't mind.
  7. Then on July 21st Guardiola said this Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are yet to decide whether youngsters like Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz will leave on loan http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/11444062/manchester-city-waiting-to-decide-whether-phil-foden-leaves-on-loan
  8. Harrison has more experience, but Foden is arguably the highest rated teenager in the UK
  9. Ha ha, just what he told me. It's a bit boring on here anyway, so just said I would share. I hope we actually sign a couple this week or even I will be getting worried...
  10. Looks like a case of style over substance from the new owners to me. Bruce has as good a record in the Championship as anyone. To replace him with Henry is a bad call in my opinion. I can't see him doing well in the Championship.
  11. I thought it went without saying that the King will have one of the midfield slots
  12. I never said drop him for Whittingham. Read my posts. Smallwood will start, if Evans left that would leave ;Travis, Davenport and Whittingham for the 2nd midfield spot. Bennett is also an option.
  13. Not really much of a gamble if he is signed on loan, apart from taking the place of another loan, who would also be a gamble
  14. I said if we could get someone to take Evans it would be good to free up the wages for whatever. I wouldn't be so skeptical about loans either, clubs have been promoted from the Championship on the backs of good loan players.
  15. The quote "I also don't think he is who we need right now, need natural wide players and a quality striker" Sounds like he doesn't want him to me :p Is Foden more central as in Smallwood/ Evans or attacking?
  16. What? There has been no indication that we need to sell to buy, absolutely none. Evans is probably our top earner and he just doesn't do enough for me. I would like to See Travis or Davenport start with Whittingham as the experienced 3rd option. I just don't think Evans does enough.
  17. He was good in the last month alright, it was the best I have seen him play. Why didn't he do it all season? He is a full international who has played most of his career in the Championship, I expected more from him in League 1. I would prefer to see Travis or Davenport given the shot this season.
  18. One poster above disagrees and I am sure few more would too if we signed him. Not in the position we need etc ,etc
  19. I agree on Evans, just getting his wages off would be good. I remember Rangers were interested a while back, but other than that I never hear anyone linked with him. Even when he is fit, he just doesn't do enough consistently for me I am fearful that he will be 1st choice again next season. I would be critical of Mowbray if that was the case. Hopefully Travis or Davenport do enough in Mowbrays eyes to get in ahead of him. We even have Whittingham as an option off the bench then if experience is required.
  20. If we got Evans off the books, it would comfortably cover Fodens wages or another good loan for that matter.
  21. He told me that's what is being said on their forum. He has gone on tour with them and its 50/50 if he will stay or go on loan and that us on Leeds are the front runners if he does. Guardiola wants him to play under an experienced manager and improve his physicality in the Championship. Don't shoot the messenger!
  22. A City supporting mate of mine thinks it is Phil Foden that we are going to loan from them.
  23. Again, difference between having a good budget and paying over the odds for shit. Need to strike the balance. If he says the budget is there, I would see no reason not to believe the man. No good deals are done in January, so to sign the best left back in league one was pretty good business if you ask me. It seems our fans just want money lumped for the sake of it. I am happy we are showing patience and waiting for the right deals.
