  1. No change from last season in that regard. We can include crosses in that too. If you watch Reading's 2nd goal Mulgrew allows their forward a free header which gets saved and put in on the rebound. Dreadful defending.
  2. Rodders see's himself as playing 'week in week out' acc to the article in the LT. He's not come here to sit on the bench.
  3. Brilliant. He then bollocked Nyambe for it. Shameless.
  4. Two of the most committed and professional footballers we've had at our club. Does that describe Rodwell's career to date?
  5. He sounds like he's cover at CB. Bauer was our first choice there but I don't think it's fair to say we've 'missed out on all our legitimate targets'. He hasn't gone anywhere, it's just Charlton won't sell him unless we bid £2m for a player will probably be available in January for much less. In that sense giving a 27 year old who has spent the vast majority of his career in the Prem on a free a 10 month contract as a stop gap makes sense, especially if he gets anywhere near back to his best. My only concern is we are paying someone for 10 months who appears to be a piss-taking lazy arse and bringing him into a group that works really hard for each other.
  6. The strength of feeling from a supporter of a club that has gone down the leagues like we also did is understandable. Just as players like Murphy,Best and Orr were symptomatic of the decline of our club, Rodwell is probably viewed the same way up there.
  7. So @MackemInPeace, in summary we've signed a good 'un?
  8. I'm sure they'll be here to not only wish Rodders all the best but to also ask for advice on getting out League 1 at the first attempt.
  9. Prime time Maltese TV detectives
  10. Probably the first real test of our top-half Championship credentials, if we have some. Brentford are, by all accounts, very good. A progressive club with link to clubs in Iceland and Denmark they seem to unearth some quality players from far and wide. Alan Judge is still there but |I'm not sure he's back to being a starter after his injury. Watkins, the lad they signed from Exeter, will be one to watch - a big striker with pace and an eye for goal, just like we need. Not sure if their other main goalscorer Maupay is banned this Saturday. Last three matches against them at Ewood in Championship have ended in a 3-2 win, a 3-2 defeat and a 1-1 draw. Last time at Ewood, a DG brace, hopefully a good omen:- Bradley Walsh was a pro there in the 70's but never played. That's as funny as Brentford, or this post, will get. They have a fans forum: http://www.griffinpark.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3 If anyone has footage of Jason Lowe kicking the ball out of play at Brentford (the day we went down)| while trying to get it under control that would be terrific. No idea who is fit, or if Rodders will play, but this could be a very tough game. A win would be great but with our walking wounded and lack of strength in depth up front a draw might be a good result. 1-1 with a crowd of 12,314. COYB!
  11. Obligatory YouTube compilation …. from when he was good. Two good feet and good in the air. If he rediscovers his old form etc etc
  12. I think you may be stretching the definition of 'win win'. He might stink the place out for the next 12 months.
  13. You can't Rodwell with a Smallwood.
  14. Even after Lenihan headed it back Raya was still backtracking. He only started to go for it when it was too late. By that time he should have stayed protecting his goal. He made it easy for the striker. It was a pathetic attempt to get the ball too. He just stuck his hand out. Shite header mind.
  15. Ok Jack, calm down. Rev clearly said 'anecdotally'.
  16. A hip flexor injury and Mowbray said it would be 'a few weeks' iirc.
  17. True, but 247 is piss poor for this early in the season. Reading can get big crowds at home. They obviously don't travel well. Did anyone in League 1 bring that few?
  18. He's dragged him off before at HT and he's always played the next game.
  19. He did a lot of running about and put some good tackles in but he created nothing really. Technically good.
  20. In Tony we trust.
  21. I understand all that.
  22. ...all 247 of them. Shameful turn out.
  23. 27 and can't find a club. Jesus Christ indeed. Anyway, you'll be the first to slag him off as soon as he puts the shirt on.
  24. This reads like a filthy diary entry that no-one should have ever seen.
