https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17588298.mowbray-wants-to-give-rovers-fans-a-team-to-be-proud-of/ Mowbray putting the onus back on Venky's and where their ambitions lie:- "Hopefully we can build again in the summer to make us stronger and try and threaten the top end of the table. That is our aim. I will go to India after the last match of the season and talk to the owners and see what their ambition for the club is.” Mowbray has had the biggest support in the transfer market of any manager under Venky's since K**n. He also failed to spend the money he had in January. It's up to him to source players who can fit into our wage budget and who will take the club forward. That is his responsibility. Not everything is someone else's responsibility which is how it appears in Tony's world. Talk of top 6 with him in charge is for the birds...but if he keeps saying 'Jam tomorrow' people lap it up.

In what context? They contact you?

I think these are Parsons mates taking the site too seriously. He needs to have a word.

Lancashire Clubs - Round Up

It is a great achievement. Credit to Jansen and the assistant who replaced him. Have Chorley ever been in the Conference before? -

A win and a draw might do it as they are 6 goals better off. -

Aye I meant they probably only need 4 points with their superior goal diff. -

Chorley beat Stockport 2-0 yesterday. Billed as a 'promotion decider' it means Chorley are now 2 pts clear of Stockport with 2 games left. Chorley have the superior goal difference too so a win and a draw should do it. Chorley will be promoted to the Conference. I didn't say there was. Fact. -
Summer Transfer Window 2019

Why not indeed. Everyone can see the weaknesses, but they haven't been addressed yet so I was making the point that if he had to prioritise it should be a CB. I'd be very surprised if he signs a new 1st choice keeper and a 1st choice CB based on his record so far. -

Someone made the (good) point on here the other week that the GK's we have aren't capable of doing what Mowbray wants them to. Mowbray has talked quite a few times about his GK's commanding their areas. Raya certainly isn't that type, he's a shot-stopper who hasn't got the physical presence (or possibly temperament) to be smashing people out of the way to get to the ball. Leuty's flap at QPR would suggest he's got exactly the same problem. If Mowbray wants his keepers to do that he needs a new keeper. Or he needs CB's who can dominate the area aerially, like that big lad at Millwall (Cooper?), which doesn't necessitate Raya or whoever having to come and claim everything out of the air. I think a big commanding CB would solve a lot of problems for Mowbray. -
He's a CM and we could definitely do with another good one. No idea if he's the type we need though i.e. can spot a forwards pass.

Summer Transfer Window 2019

With Mulgrew: Played 29. Won 6. Drawn 8. Lost 15. 0.9 points per game and 1.69 goals conceded per game. 4 clean sheets. 26 points. Without Mulgrew: Played 13. Won 8. Drawn 3. Lost 2. 2.08 points per game and 1.15 goals conceded per game. 7 clean sheets. 27 points. Unfortunately Tony isn't a reductivist when it comes to football coaching. He's much more abstract. -
You're still incredibly sensitive for someone whose every post is a dig. Maybe stop being an arse and you may not feel constantly snarked? Obviously you'd have to be self-aware enough to spot the issue first. Good luck.

I think we've been linked with Josh Vela in the past.

Smallwood and Evans play the CM role better than anyone at the club. Tony said so. Or was it the BRFCS hate-core? I get confused these days.... -
I think what Jimmy Armfield actually said was "It's not a crowd at Ewood, it's a jury...." What he then went on to say, which wasn't widely-reported at the time, was "...and that's just the more knowledgeable supporters. The rest are happy-clappy dullards who'd be grateful for a weekly hammering at the likes of Brentford if they had a weird man-crush on the terribly average manager who was overseeing the hammerings" You won't find that in the papers. They tried to silence Jimmy.

It's refreshing that you're owning it. Fair play.

Bolton are a weird one. They are a big town who used to travel in numbers but haven't brought a lot to Ewood in years. They should be selling out the away end at Ewood like Burnley and PNE because they are probably bigger than both of them.
