  1. Not much in it ability-wise between those two. One was signed by Johnson for nowt, the other signed by Mowbray for £7m.
  2. Get your manager mates to come on and tell us how good Tony is.
  3. When Williams had success with Bristol City he played as one of three central defenders. He isn't a full back but he's a better defender than Bell and Mulgrew. I think we need better though to partner Lenihan if the club has designs on the play-offs.
  4. No point signing them if you're not going to play them.
  5. Excellent win, and only 1 conceded for the leakiest away defence in England. Raya was at fault apparently, and Bell tried to give his best to give one away. Mulgrew wasn't playing. Those 3 can't play next season if Mowbray wants to improve the defence like he's said he will.
  6. He's done a good job, that's why WBA are after him.
  7. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17570881.mowbray-on-goals-against-column-and-away-day-inconsistency/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor Today's b ollocks from the wacky world of Tony. Apparently we've just been 'a little inconsistent' away from home ?
  8. "Whether it’s next season, or the one after, as a manager I understand you only get so much time, so for me we will try and strengthen in the summer and make sure everyone knows next year we will be competing with all of those clubs to try and get out of this division.” - Mogga There you have. More BS rhetoric that he can't be judged on for months and months. A bit like his 'Brereton will be a superstar one day' quote. Good managers just get on and do it.
  9. I've just remembered I'm busy next season.
  10. Would you like to stay at my house? If you wake and I'm watching you sleep try not to be alarmed.
  11. He knows loads of managers does Walter Mani - Jurgen Krups, Jose Montario, Mauricio Poochytino....
  12. “I could have bought six or seven players for £1m each, whatever we paid for Ben, or we buy a talent that we think is going to be a massive asset for the football club down the line" @Biz - confirmation on the price.
  13. Until Mowbray changes his approach we won't progress. His approach is not to lose, he doesn't set out to win. Two DM's that never venture forward and '2.5 attackers' = not much fun at Ewood. Travis and Reed play together and it's 5 goals at home and no reply. He may well play the same team as against Derby tomorrow, but he'll revert to type at some point. He's just a very dull manager who plays dull football. Setting your team up to stop counter attacks instead of setting your team up to win the game is very Mowbray. Hopefully at some point he'll stop being negative and start being positive. Then we can all be positive, not just the fans that feel positive about his negativity.
  14. You already have, you've just not said which one. Weird? You 'splashed' on here that you speak to current league managers and coaches. I was just asking you who they were. If you can't remember that's fine. That's a revelation. Cheers. Without a name that's a fairly meaningless statement. It's there to add weight to your argument, I get that, but it actually detracts from it. If the basis of your argument is unquantifiable then you have no argument. It just comes across as 'make belief'. Which brings us back to Walter Mitty….
  15. That's very true, but not my point. Which league managers do you know? You didn't say.
  16. Graham 1st for being good all season, with Dack 2nd for a brilliant half a season.
  17. Is this real world or Sparks world?? We've already got one Walter Mani Mitty on here...
  18. How is your mate? Dreaming of playing for super Rovers?
  19. I haven't said all the players who got promoted are Championship players, I said a side 'containing' Championship players got promoted. That's how it works. There is still the nucleus of a very decent Championship team at Ewood - Raya, Lenihan, Nyambe, Travis, Dack, Armstrong and Graham all came up from League 1 and all are Championship-quality players, although some are more consistent than others. You could also argue a case for Evans, Williams Smallwood and Mulgrew. At the very least they are very good League 1 players. The Rovers squad that got promoted was of a much higher standard than anything that comes out of that league normally. Quite a few managers commented last season on our 'Championship' standard team. The argument put forward by most people is that SOME of the players that got us promoted have been found out, yet Mowbray keeps picking them. One minute he defends them, the next he slags them. It all depends on the narrative he needs to cover his own back. The second part to the argument is that Mowbray has failed to strengthen the team in key areas yet has wasted millions on a reserve striker who can't get a game. The third part is that he never learns and keeps picking the same team and coming out with nonsense to justify it - his comments on Smallwood/Evans for example.
  20. That would be preferable to having the same shit manager every week.
  21. Mowbray is a good manager in L1 with the biggest budget and a team containing players good enough for the Championship. He was bottom of L1 after ten games without a win at Coventry when he didn't have the biggest budget.
  22. That's your opinion, not fact.
  23. The bright side of them not wanting Mowbray is that losing Neil will be a hammer blow for them. I think Neil is a terrific manager.
  24. https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/preston-north-end/preston-north-end-set-to-receive-an-official-approach-from-west-bromwich-albion-for-manager-alex-neil-1-9704816 Unfortunately, WBA aren't interested in Moggadon, they want Alex Neil instead.
  25. "His disgusting hair flaps in the Lancashire polluted air" ?
