  1. If you think those are trolls saying 'outrageous things' then you yourself are a troll looking to be outraged. I've even been kind enough to take those criticism one-by-one to point out why they are reasonable comments, or at least not 'outrageous'. I can do no more for you. The end.
  2. The first part dictates the second part of your sentence. Always will. And if those 'criticisms' are the best/most damning you can find then you really don't have a point anyway. It's funny you've had to wait 8 months since his signing to try and claim some moral victory because he's just scored his first goal ? The irony may be lost on you.
  3. They are all from October 2018. I knew your maths was a bit out when you stated he was a bargain because of the flex but I didn't think you were that bad at counting. But lets take those criticisms you've found in the last month or two from 6 months ago one-by-one:- Yep, £7m for a reserve. Very strange. Fair comment. Unless of course you know what Venky's are thinking. It's not like they've sold players at the drop of a hat before...oh hang on... Yep, £7m for a reserve signing in the Championship. Puzzling indeed Still a possibility. He's scored 1 goal in 1 season, mainly because he hasn't been deemed good enough to start. Unfair. Chris Brown could head it Indeed.
  4. Jim's not happy. He's just done another BRFCS-related tweet. He's not obsessed though which is the main thing. Chabby was always a bit poisonous.
  5. £7m + 1 goal + 1 season = Romario
  6. Chabby and Meadows give their marks out of ten for the job Mowbray has done.
  7. You're taking social media far too seriously again.
  8. I think Mowbray can point to a good season and a healthy points return. We haven't quite reached the heights of Millwall or Sheff Utd last season when they came up but we've certainly done a lot better than Wigan. I think @Herbie6590's is a fair summary. I think 'what might have been' has been the overriding frustration of the last few months …. if only he's been less 'loyal' to players who were struggling to perform and strengthened in January. I hope the new contracts he handed out to players who perhaps can't hack it in this league don't hinder his chances of improving the team for next season. A season of a few excellent performances at home and quite a few more horrendous capitulations away...interspersed with enough narrow victories to assure a decent mid-table finish. Plenty of room for improvement nest season, which is always a positive. Another positive is that although this league is very competitive there aren't many stand out teams, and that finishing in the top 6 is not out of the question with a good manager. We will only be 10-15 points away this season and we've been regularly battered away from home.
  9. Jim didn't write it. @Herbie6590 did. You can tell because it lacks the usual embittered dig at BRFCS?
  10. I think that's defo his preferred 'style', certainly the passing it around and trying to draw out the opposition. He even said that was his tactic against Bolton! As has been said many times, he's a counter-attacking coach these days. When he says we like to go out and get on the 'front foot' he's simply not being honest (3 goals from open play all season at home in the 1st half. Come on Tony!!). The 1st 15 minutes against Bolton we invited them on, like we do all teams. That's his tactic when teams defend. That's the stuff that irks me about him, there's a lot of flim-flam with Tony. He used to trot out the 'front foot' stuff last season too when we had Whitto strolling around the centre circle and rolling the ball out to the wings in slow motion. Everyone could see it wasn't really working but it took him until Oldham away (October?) to rip up his plans and revert to what he called a 'hard running style' which straight away started getting results and propelled us towards the Top 2. Against the better footballing teams at home we've looked very good at times. Leeds, Hull, WBA and Brentford have all been out-run and out-battled at Ewood. We have struggled against the bigger teams who come to defend because we don't create much. Even against Bolton we didn't have a lot of clear chances. The problem away from home has come because you can't counter-attack when your defence is shite. You simply can't invite teams on to you if you can't defend. A better defender or two and GK and we will be better away from home next season. A quality winger and midfield playmaker and we'll probably be better at home too. The good thing is there's room for a lot of improvement if he can identify the right players.
  11. Tony forgot his password between 1/2/19 and 1/4/19. I don't think that's a coincidence.
  12. I think he'll have a good career in L1. I think he's a goalscorer, I just don't think he'll ever work as a lone frontman at Championship level.
  13. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17592767.why-rovers-boss-opted-to-use-ben-brereton-in-the-no9-role/ "I think we need to try and get away from the almost one dimensional style of a diagonal ball to Graham, knock down to Dack, which has worked so well for us over the last couple of seasons" Good to see Tony's been listening to the experts. BRFCS - Football consultants. No job too big.
  14. He has no idea just how lucky!
  15. I'm gonna go full David Mellor on him! But not in a Chelsea kit obvs,...
  16. I love it when you tease me....
  17. The 1960 one's a belter too!
  18. Smallwood scored a beauty at Fleetwood.
  19. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17591587.rovers-boss-mowbray-heads-to-europe-on-scouting-mission/ He's off to Europe for a couple of days to 'eye up talent'. Amsterdam it is then! Hoping for the nod to get multi-million £ signings in the summer.
  20. That's not true. He often plays down transfer links with players. He obviously has contact with someone at the club who will give him the nod one way or another. He'll talk to the players too. I just think with Rodwell he's never been 1st choice in any position so if he wants to play he'll have to move on. 'However, Rovers will still look to recruit in central defence and central midfield this summer which could knock him (Rodwell) further down the pecking order' I think that ^ was the key part of Sharpe's article.
  21. He gave him a very enthusiastic round of applause and a handshake when he subbed him late in the game. Mogga was very keen for Rodwell to see his performance was appreciated. Read into that what you will!
  22. I agree. I think where Reed is concerned he got all (?) those assists/goals from playing out wide. I think my point was if he's played in the middle (like Smallwood etc) he wouldn't look as good because he wouldn't get forward as much.
