On the rovers page of NewsNow there's a LT article heading saying we've taken a non league striker on trial. The link doesn't work though when you click in it. Looks like the article was removed. Did anyone see who the striker was? -

Has Tony told the story about when he had a football attached to a washing line which was attached to the pit pulley when he was a working class lad who was just starting out on a journey to change the face of modern football with his revolutionary ideas? It's a belter. It ends with none of his players being able to head the ball but everyone agreeing they are all lovely lads and good humans. -

Mulgrew, Bell, Williams, Raya and Rodwell have all got a mistake in them that could easily cost a goal and often does. This happens practically every game for at least one of them and normally 2 or 3 of them. You just can't have those types of players at a football club if you want to progress. All the above will have spells where they play well (relatively) but none can be relied on. I really don't see them leaving though. Mowbray likes a 'footballing' defender because he thinks he plays progressive, modern, attractive football. He doesn't, but it means a few of the above will be here next season and in the 1st team. When it goes tits up again, as it always will with players like those in your team, Mowbray will publicly rue not buying a big shithouse of a CB. He'll not really mean it because he keeps saying the same thing and doing the opposite but it will buy him more time with the gullible - 'this summer he'll sort it - he needs more time' etc etc. Mowbray Out in the BIg Summer Clear Out. -

Downing being one of the better defenders at the club says more about the club than Downing. He was a good header of the ball bit I've seen milk turn quicker. There's a reason only L1 clubs wanted him. Rodwell is shit in other ways and Mulgrew has just detiorated rapidly this season (or been exposed in a higher division). -

Yep Fielding was the one we were strongly linked with. Mowbray actually was quoted as saying he wanted a new keeper. From then on the LT said a new keeper was one of Mowbray's priorities whenever they gave an update on what the club wanted. Instead we got 27 midfielders and a young lad who cost more than GDP of the Isle of Man. -

I think the football under Mowbray is generally 2nd rate Allardyce going forward. At the back we're 2nd rate Coyle. Any signs of improvement are to be welcomed. -

Raya, in some respects, is worse than last year. He pulled off some sensational saves last season whilst at the same time being so bad at crosses that he kept dropping them at the feet of strikers. The latter he has actually improved on, he drops far less than he did. However he no longer makes the brilliant saves. The SWFC 4th goal epitomised that, he'd have thrown his cap on that last season. A new keeper was touted by Mowbray last summer to put pressure on Raya. It was in the LT week after week as a position Mowbray wanted to fill. Again it was a failure of recruitment, just like the CB situation now. -
If I go I'd like to apologise in advance if I've ever upset you and you're bigger than me.

You said we would have to increase the budget or we'll be in difficulties. I was just pointing out other clubs do well on a smaller budget. We all know we aren't properly run. -

I Wish list : - OUT: I think Gladwin, Conway, Rodwell and Downing are all out of contract? If true don't offer another to any of them Bell and/or Williams - probably more potential in Bell Leutwiler Hart Evans or Smallwood Samuel and/or Nuttall IN:- A goalkeeper, Two CB's, a LB, a creative midfielder, a winger and a striker - all of those to be bought as 1st teamers not 'projects'. -

Alex Neill is doing ok at PNE and he's built a team on £5m and low wages. It's the manager that is the most important piece of the jigsaw. -

Mowbray thinks the defence is fine (or he did until he needed someone to blame for the regular stuffings) . That's the worry for next season. Mulgrew, Williams and Bell (and Raya) simply can't defend and yet they are all on long contracts. Do people think they'll all be replaced/sold? -
Where's the poll you promised@K-Hod? Have @Biz and @S8 & Blue got to you because they hate democracy and the inevitable landslide for 'sack'? The old horses head in the bed? Be strong, sir. Let's have a poll and let's vote MOGXIT. Leave means Leave!

He certainly was on the dole, just like Coyle and Mowbray. @Exiled in Toronto was obviously too busy having a pointless dig to check his facts. Disappointing.

It's a tricky one, but ultimately it's fiddling while Rome burns until Mowbray sorts out the defence and keeper. As others have said though Dack will probably be gone by next season. If Mulgrew has been put out to pasture and Graham's legs finally do go ? we'll have about 50 goals to find in this summers transfer market. Frightening thought... -
