  1. Have you seen it?? I only saw it in real-time and it was nowhere near offside.
  2. The stuff you put in bold are my main gripes. It was well on show yesterday. Gallagher, Bell, Johnson shirked tackle after tackle. We ARE a physically weak team. When we line up, we are visibly smalker and our biggest lad (Gallagher) is nothing shy of a shitbag. Our bravest player is Travis and Nyambe is our strongest but often limps off as he can't cope either with pain or fatigue. Dack and Graham certainly put themselves about - the likes of Brereton and Bell look like they have a tickling strangers fetish. Yesterday, Lenihan, Johnson, Travis, Bell, Nyambe, Gallagher's distribution was poor for large parts of the game. Yesterday, first half, too often we'd win the ball back but nobody committed forwards, so we were snuffed out at the edge of the box. We do back off and back off without people closing the ball down. We often concede this way and it is usually when we lose the ball around the halfway line. As for running the clock down, how often do you see a series of pointless sideways passes on the edge of our box whilst the opposition resets themselves? Far too often. Some of our best goals recently are when we hit teams on the break and have a quick interchange of forward passes and tap in from 8 -10 yards out. But no, we choose the non-committal, lethargic approach as Plan A.
  3. I see no work in progress and I don't see players on board with this ridiculous imaginary masterplan. What I do see, week after week (two or three performances apart) is: Confusion. Terrible (BASIC) passing. Cagey play. Players out of position. Physically weak players. Shirking challenges and headers. Us clearly second best until we simplify things and get the ball higher up the field. A complete lack of energy and intensity by the majority. Backing off and allowing teams to walk up to our area. Awful quality of crosses into the box. Us running the clock down when losing or drawing. Give me the much more effective wing play or direct style over this mundane Mowbray crap. The guy hasn't remotely got the know-how, scouting or finances to create his Barcelona on a budget. I honestly don't think that's what any self-respecting Rovers fan wants either. We want a competitive side that gives their all and bloodies the nose of the opposition if we lose. When we awoke for ten seconds before the referee blew his whistle - you could sense the crowd waking up and getting behind them once they finally but their bodies in for challenges. Players where they should be. Higher intensity. Move that ball quicker and more soldiers and less piss artists, Mowbray. Simple.
  4. Clearly onside. Like - YARDS onside. It would only continue to paper over massive cracks. We were poor and weak. The effort off the ball wasn't anywhere near good enough, the quality on the ball was terrible - whether that be simple passing or crossing, for far too long the movement around us when we had the ball was lethargic at best.
  5. I thought Walton made some outstanding saves. Couple of Freidel-esque ones, mixed with some Bobby Mimms ball at his feet moments.
  6. I'm livid with that today. Complete shite. Again. Only a crap Gallagher header onto the roof of the net the only attempt on goal (on or off target) until about the 80th minute. We chased shadows, handed possession straight back - usually with terrible passing or unadventurous play, slip ups and mistakes a plenty. No sub made until after we went behind - even though that non-system clearly wasn't working. It is utter shit and it IS our style of play far too often. Mowbray was happy with it though. We played really well apparently and he felt the plan worked. Actually, happy apart from us not getting crosses into the box after the subs...mainly from a right-footed striker who he is absolutely killing on the right wing, who was shifted onto the left wing - I actually feel really sorry for the lad. Is it rocket science to have a young, fast out-and-out winger on the bench instead of an array of 'strikers' ? Anyway, we won't amount to anything under that fucking idiot, he is deluded beyond words. Our chance for change passed; so we have to ride the season out with more turgid, cagey performances when we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Gutted. Frustrated. Fed up.
  7. Gutted for Holtby. As predicted after that pathetic transfer window, we are in the shit with low quality in key areas. Time for shit or bust and go two up top and play with proper widemen...no doubt that Muppet manager we have will persevere with Bennett as a number 10 though. Fortune often favours the brave but cagey, safe football reigns supreme for Big T.
  8. No getting up to speed for that lad. Wayne Rooney and James Milner could've earnt testimonials by the time players aren't given the excuse of being young and learning the basics of the game (like Gallagher).
  9. I read somewhere last week (Telegraph I think) that we had exactly the same points from exactly the same amount of games as last season. It just seems like results are improving - even though they aren't.
  10. That's half of the problem - playing them on their own. They should have been learning their craft alongside Graham or as half of a big man/little man combination - which will become the norm again in a couple of years and whoever brings it back in will be treated as some sort of maverick.
  11. Mowbray and Bowyer are very similar but Bowyer was much more honest. He was self-critical, which I don't see as a negative. Kean was just awful. Under-qualified and unlikable.
  12. I don't see it either. The only time I see urgency is when we are about seven games in to a winless run and are at home. It coincides with the bit of fan unrest. Not many will agree but I think it is productive to get on the manager's case a little bit from time to time. Apathy helps nobody.
  13. Tony Parkes - an absolute gentleman and true great.
  14. A player who can play right back, left back, left wing, central midfield, right wing and as a number 10? He must be worth tens of millions.
  15. That is key to the issue. There does not seem any pressure to perform at Rovers. Large portions of the fans accept mediocrity and don't get on the back of the manager unless winless runs make double figures. The manager doesn't demand every ounce of effort and fight from the players (but will call out the youngsters at the drop of a hat), there isn't a man of captain material on the pitch barking at the players and leading by example, the Chief Exec (or whatever Waggott is) isn't remotely demanding of the manager or coaches and the owners in a faraway land, don't appear to have aspirations of success. It is no wonder we are where we are: languishing in the safety of no man's land.
  16. No not grass is greener. We need a range of options to get to (at least) the playoffs. We have wasted a chunk of our budget on a kid who never gets played and doesn't look good enough and a very big lad who should be approaching his prime, but is a first-choice makeshift winger. It's just terrible recruitment.
  17. I suppose Gestede was the last one we had. You'd think Gallagher would offer those qualities but he seems a much braver and controlled header of the ball in our own box, rather than the opposition's. He headed a ball out to the halfway line yesterday - then around that time, in the opposite box, turned and tried to use the back/side of his head to knock it across goal from a decent position - instead of using his forehead and a chance to head down at goal. He really does lack that strikers instinct and I feel the more he plays in that muddled role, the less likely he'll develop those striking instincts.
  18. I'm not talking about amounts of goals we have scored though. I am talking options - even a plan B. Yesterday, we couldn't get Armstrong in the game and didn't really trouble Boro. Whereas, they had Assombalonga, Gestede and Nmecha - all strong, very direct physical players who, although wasteful, caused us headache after headache. I just wish we had one of those options. Instead we have Graham who is increasingly ineffective, Brereton who is consistently ineffective, Samuel consistently injured and apparently now, Bennett?!
  19. We let them walk up to our box. First bit of defending was a hopeful lunge. It was infuriating and I've lost count of how many times we've done that.
  20. No idea Chaddy. We don't seem like we have the ability or willingness to pay the going rate. Every time we line up though, we appear physically weaker than the opposition. It isn't everything but we have been outmuscled in a lot of games - so we need that other option from somewhere.
  21. He's never got going. Considering on the day he signed, he was supposedly as fit as the players here; he's not lasted 90mins has he? Certainly direct and good in moments though.
  22. I'm happy with Armstrong too but I meant we don't have that powerful thorn in the side player that Boro have - and they had three. Graham's time is up, Gallagher lacks testicles. We were very fortunate to get a point today, Boro missed some sitters and Walton made some super saves. A point gained but also an opportunity missed.
  23. I wouldn't even bother with Leutweiller in goal/on the bench. For how often a keeper gets injured, teams would be better off having another outfield option on there - add to that, he's woeful.
