  1. I think you missed the forearm smash to his face as he was about to go around him and the blood n thunder tackle he flew into to get his own back moments later. Like anyone, he needs a run of games. Not sure how anyone can be cocky during a warm up though ??
  2. That's what I've been banging on about. It means so much and makes a massive difference. Against Fulham we were cagey, stood off and didn't commit forwards with any purpose for 75mins and ended up losing, yet Barnsley showed that they could be got at. Yesterday, we started off on the back foot but credit to Mowbray, he adjusted things and we then had the game in control. The manager and players need to stick to letting the opposition worry about us, not the other way around.
  3. He will no doubt develop in strength. Pederson and Jansen were similar- easy to knock flying but within 18months, far stronger. Same will go with Brereton, He's holding off defenders far better now but he's only 20 too.
  4. We did the simple stuff well. We passed well, fought for the ball when we needed to, excellent hold up and movement and made some excellent fouls to nip danger in the bud. That's all I ever want from a Rovers side and why I get so frustrated this season - it is 100% there for the taking. Nobody is special in this league.
  5. I thought he did some good layoffs and movements. He's looked much better the last few times off the bench. In fairness to him, he IS a young player. When he ran the ball out though...dopey git.
  6. Excellent win. Very assured performance and some top class saves to boot. Can't ask for any more than that ?
  7. Buckley's had his best game yet. Must be worth £15m after that.
  8. His control and movement was excellent. Super comeback game.
  9. Evidence if ever that we should build from the back. In fairness, apart from Bell only being 'capable' at best - we look much more solid.
  10. The passing and movement so much better today. Walton has made superb saves too - so not all one way traffic. I hope we keep at them 2nd half. I Don't like it when we try to sit back - that's when we are at our worst.
  11. One is when Bell is doing it, the other Armstrong.
  12. I haven't seen it back but did the keeper go right through Brereton? I thought it was an obvious penalty but obviously the ref had other ideas? Superb goal by Armstrong.
  13. First half. There were a few occasions where there were some scrambles around the 6 yard box.
  14. We could have conceded a few. Some lucky bounces in and around our 6 yard box. Started well though. Slowly reverting to type now. Pissing about with the ball when we need to hit them quick.
  15. It is frequently a case of he who shall judge but not be judged.
  16. I think Lenihan will be shipped out at the first decent offer. I can see bigger teams taking a punt on Nyambe too. Mainly because we HAVE to sell to buy - to remain FFP compliant (which we do voice concerns about). It's an absolute mess of a squad. Bell is weak and just about adequate z and the only LB at the club (since Williams confessed to not being up to it). We don't own a half-decent goalkeeper. We only have one dedicated centreback with first team experience - unless Mulgrew is reconsidered and gets his 100th appearance (with probable pay rise). We have no height or presence in centre midfield but plenty of light-weight options. Two expensive strikers who either don't score, don't play or don't play where they should. At least we have low-expectations, apathy, a bucket full of excuses and the World's greatest manager to see us through. For that, I am grateful.
  17. Maybe what you say should start backing your memories then. You DO project us as a small team who should look up to teams with lesser budgets and poorer infrastructure - that's why I take exception to your comments. Same goes for your suggestions that Mowbray is as good as it can possibly be. Wolves didn't take 5 years to get from League One to the Premier League, it was four but I think the team I was thinking of was that massive club, Norwich - pretty sure they got back to back promotions. My issue with your latest nugget was your snide remark that we lesser fans, who lack patience, should wait until 2024 to be on a par with Brentford (who until recently were just an answer to the Bradley Walsh quiz question).
  18. I was only joking. I know what you mean - I was taking the Micky out of those who like to pretend we are a League One club. What would Mashed Taters say about Leicester? Wolves? Sheffield Utd? Southampton? Huddersfield? etc. Who were also down in League One but didn't hang about simply feeling grateful to be damp squibs or slow burners in the Championship.
  19. Yes, but if you ignore the fact that we pretty much spent 20 years in the top flight, and just one season in forty in League one...we are a just plucky lower league tinpot team and we should look up to the likes of Brentford and be grateful we have Mr Mowbray because only he can achieve what he has achieved.
  20. Now is the time for Davenport. Johnson is useless, I'm so disappointed with how he's turned out. He clearly doesn't want to be here, unfit, disinterested and looking like a payday player. I'd rather we miss out on the play offs persevering with young players in their proper positions, than miss out plundering on with dross or out of position players. Either way, 100% no promotion this season.
  21. Fingers crossed for little old Blackburn Rovers then ?
